My Mum spent her final couple of years being cared for in the dementia wing of Dashwood, and more recently my Dad had a couple of weeks in respite care here after coming out of hospital. I can't praise the home and the amazing staff enough in both scenarios. It is always a pleasure to visit the home
as you truly are treated as family. And the care both my parents received was exactly what both needed. My Mum was always treated with dignity and understanding, and as she would be very anxious when coming out of her room, they made sure she was constantly checked on, and staff would spend time with her. And when the end came, they made everything so lovely and peaceful for her and us, and supported us wonderfully through the difficult time after. So when Dad needed some care after a hospital stay, I was so grateful Dashwood could do this. He was treated like a returning hero and thoroughly enjoyed his time being looked after!

After visiting a number of local care homes we decided that Dashwood Manor would be the most suitable for mum. We were impressed by the bright, spacious rooms with en-suite facilities and the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. It did not take long for mum to settle in - she takes full advantage of
the activities available and enjoys chatting to fellow residents and the friendly and caring staff. We are always kept up-to-date on how mum is getting on and what she has been involved with.

My wife has been a resident of Dashwood Manor for 16 months. She is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The staff all seem to be caring people and to do everything they can to make my wife's life as good as it can be. I have never seen any inappropriate behaviour or frustration from any staff
member, despite often what seems to me annoying behaviour by my wife. The food at DM seems excellent, with sensible choices and they will provide additional choices if required to meet the needs and wants of residents. Unfortunately my wife cannot take part in any of the activities that they arrange for residents because she is bed bound, but lots of residents do take part in these. Overall I cannot imagine a better place for my wife to spend these difficult times.

Our Auntie has been a resident at Dashwood since it opened. She is always treated like a family member by all the staff. They are friendly and kind and always keep us informed should we need to be advised of anything.
It is always appreciated that our uncle who visits her weekly is able to enjoy
a meal with her and he is also treated well and enjoys his visits.
The home offers an extensive range of activities and services and a good range of meals is offered daily.
I would have no hesitation recommending this home to others.

Generally we're really happy with the level of care given to day. My only 3/5 for activity is owing to dad having limited mobility so he insn't able to engage as much as other residents.
Keep uo the good work!

My father was very anxious and unsure of what 'carehome' living would be like so he initially arranged a three week respite. He arrived nervous and emotional about the experience, being widowed this year this was a huge step change for him. From the moment he arrived the Dashwood team greated him
with a friendly smile and treated him as part of their family. Being kind, respectful of his needs, supportive and also encouraging- within a short time dad was quietly socialising, joining in activities, chatting to other residents- and eating really well - and most important is smiling and feels settled.

Mum came to Dashwood middle of September, the first few days she seemed unsettled but by the second week so relaxed and happy interacting with the outstanding attention and care given by all the staff and happy with the other residents.
When I arrive to visit all the staff and management warmly
greet me and update me on mum's health and activities which she enjoys joining in with, which wasn't the case prior to her coming.

My father spent the last few years of his life in Dashwood and as a family we all felt he was safe, secure and cared for. He was a fussy eater but through the imagination and skill of the kitchen staff he enjoyed a varied diet of well-cooked and served meals. He was always wearing clean clothes,
and his room and bathroom were always clean and tidy. The lifestyle team organise a vast range of activities both on and off site. Whenever we visited, we were always met with a warm friendly smile and greeting from all staff.
Dashwood has a fantastic team of committed, caring and empathetic staff, who all go the extra mile for the residents, giving them as much independence and dignity as possible. Moreover, as a family we felt supported when we visited.

I am so happy with the care that Dashwood carers and entertainment staff have given to my relative. Always on hand to discuss any concerns or wishes and always give their best for her. She is very happy at Dashwood and they provide the greatest of care whilst being extremely empathetic to my
relative. Dashwood is always presented as so clean and inviting.

Overall my mum's experience has been good since being a resident. There are a couple of things that need to be looked at, but on the whole my mum is being looked after well and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful

Nothing is to much trouble the staff are kind and caring and helped my aunt settle into Dashwood Manor, she is happy and as I don't live near I can relax knowing she is in good hands.
My aunt has been very ill recently and not only did they care for her but made sure I was informed and checked I
was okay.

Mum has been at Dashwood for two and a half years with Dementia/Alzheimers and she could not be in a better place. As a former Mayor of Basingstoke, I had the honor to visit many Care facilities in and around the town and can honestly say Dashwood Manor was number 1. When Mum needed to move to into
Care, we placed her in Dashwood for Respite for a month and she expressed her wish to stay. The care provided at in all respects is second to none, the families of Residents are warmly welcomed at all times as part of the Dashwood 'family' and the family events are wonderful. Mum could not be in a better place to cater for all her needs by very caring staff at all levels.

Mum has been at Dashwood Manor for 3 years and is settled and happy. As a family, we know that when we are not around that she is cared for and well loved. The home has a warm and cosy vibe and is well maintained to high standards. They have a variety of different events for the residents daily
and are encouraged to join in, they have plenty of outside entertainment, which is popular. This care home even puts on evening events for families eg Fish & Chips and a Quiz Night and Curry and Bingo, so that relatives can get to know one another and can chat to each other about their shared experiencies, when they see each other on other ocassions. All the staff are friendly and ready to help or listen at anytime, they join in with the activities so that both residents and families know them well - nothing is too much. I can spend time with own family too, knowing that mum is happy.

I cannot recommend Dashwood Manor highly enough. My Gran has been there for over 2 years now and it truly is like home from home. The care is fabulous and the team are like extended family. That's at every level. The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable & a joy to visit. I'm thinking of reserving
my own room in advance
Thankyou all for the wonderful care you give
Kind regards
Caroline

Friendly and efficient staff during my fathers stay at Dashwood manor . The room and public areas are always kept clean and tidy . We've had no complaints about our fathers care in the two years he's been a resident

Overall, we are pleased with Mums care. Sometimes Mum has her day clothes over her pyjamas, perhaps she can be encouraged to take her pyjamas off. Also, a dead plant stayed in mums room for some time, I was surprised it hadn't been taken away. When Mum runs out of toothpaste and shower gel we do
replace when asked. But I am surprised basics are not included and spare supplies aren't kept on site for the use of. It's a good job we are local so can replenish these for her. Also, it is a shame that Mums personal items go missing. Clothes and jewellery, she is still missing her Radley watch.

First visit to care home and was delighted to say that is a lovely place, everyone is so friendly and staff couldn't do enough for everyone. Great little kitchen area to help yourself to tea, coffee, juice and lovely eats. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

This place must be a practice run for going to heaven. It is the most wonderful place to be. The staff are amazing, and my mother is so happy to be here. We, as a family, have no worries at all about her being here.

We travelled down from Scotland to see my wife's aunt on her 103rd birthday. A lot of the residents came down to the lounge to be with her. The mayor and his wife turned up to wish her a happy birthday, along with a local TV station. Snacks were laid on, and it was a great day for my wife's aunt.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. This is definitely the best place she has been in.
