In September 2022 when Social Services instructed us to visit local care homes in order to find a new home for mum, we were so lucky to have discovered Henley House and cannot imagine she could possibly have been looked after by more caring, fabulous people.
Life always seems to be busy for
residents, and through the past three years we have been constantly surprised by the wide range of activities they have provided, and we will always treasure the images we have of mum doing everything from baking cakes to handling exotic animals. They even managed to get her out on the river Orwell, an adventure we know was really special for her.
We have been humbled by the care and attention that mum has received, not just during the period when dementia became a serious threat to life, but throughout the whole of her stay. A lovely home, staffed by lovely people, and very easy to recommend.

Couldn't have wished for a nicer home than Henley House. When mum moved in, obviously as a family we were worried how mum would adjust, aswell as the family accepting this new normal. Henley House has become mums home aswell as feeling comfortable for the family to visit. Mum has a beautiful room
& private ensuite. There's so many activities scheduled, which I like to get involved in too, Activities staff do a fantastic job. You can clearly see, that all the staff love what they do, they are so caring & have a natural nurturing nature. Knowing mum is well cared for, helps to relieve the worry we had.

What an excellent home this is, it has been one of the best choices we have made. My mum has been in the home for nearly a year and the care she has received, the activities provided and the staff's dedication has been brilliant. My mum's quality of life has improved and knowing this and that she is
so well looked after has given us such peace of mind, thank you.

The home manager and mini bus driver went over and above to ensure that my relative was able to attend an event which they recognised was very important to her.
I find the senior carer excellent and feel that she really cares about the people she looks after.
I have no hesitation recommending all
of the facilities that Henley House has to offer and am confident in the care and commitment that they are giving my relative.

My dad has been in the home for a while now and I am very impressed with all the staff. They have been very supportive to my dad and also myself. I like the fact that they include all the residents. No one is singled out. The staff done the utmost to make the residents enjoy the festivities and I
attended the Christmas carol concert with Dad. Thank you.

I want to take the time to send this review because I think it is important to let people know the difference staff here make to people's lives. Our lovely Mum went into Henley House in 2023. We spent a long time choosing the right place and I have to say that from the moment we walked in we knew
this was right for Mum. Mum has dementia and needs dedicated care, every single one of the staff who care for Mum are absolutely fabulous. She is always clean, happy and well cared for. Any difficult problems are handled professionally and caringly. Management run the facility brilliantly and it is beautifully clean. The reception staff are smiley and welcoming. Any family concerns and feelings are considered and we always feel valued.
I have no hesitation in recommending Henley House to anyone who has a dear relative who needs deeper care, it is not a 'facility' it is a home as in a place for our loved ones to live in comfort and where we can visit and spend time with them.

Dad unfortunately was only a resident here for just over a week on the dementia floor, my brother and I were very impressed with the care he received until he passed away unexpectedly.
We wanted mum to come here initially, for respite care after a lengthy and traumatic stay in hospital where she
lost a lot of mobility due to heart failure. We are very happy with the care mum received, especially as the care is complex. Small niggles but we feel confident they get addressed.

I arrived in the summer needing to change from intermittent care. I am now as fully independent as possible and enjoying my life. Thanks especially to the in house staff who make this possible every day. All make me feel as though I'm the only one, kitchen staff make the extra effort to make my diet
safe.

Henley House, in my experience is the best care home I have visited. The building its self is very impressive, all the carers and seniors we have encountered, not to mention the cleaning staff have been amazing in the three years my mother in law has been living here.
It's hard to find anything to
grumble about. Highly recommended care home, in my opinion.

My Mum has been living in Henley House for over a year now. It was really difficult for our family to see our Mum having to leave her home and husband of decades and live elsewhere. However, all the staff have been lovely. Very understanding, patient and compassionate. Everyone goes out of their way
to be friendly and welcoming and all take time to make my mum feel cared for. From the cleaners, caretakers, the dining room staff to the carers and seniors. The place is lovely, with bright surroundings and the view is spectacular from Mum's room, it's lovely looking out to see what you can spy in the distant countryside. Medical checks and monitoring are regular. The food is good, with things made on site and always extras on offer like freshly made milkshakes etc which Mum enjoys. The entertainment is good, the mental stimulation has been a real benefit to my mum. Events are organised which satisfy a variety of tastes, there's always something to be involved in if you want to be. Thanks to a great team!

My stay at Henley House for respite was necessitated as my wife, my full-time kara, had to undergo surgery. When it became apparent that my two-week plans to stay were not long enough, my stay was extended for a third week for which we were both very grateful. On arrival, I was immediately made to
feel at home. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My ensuite room overlooked the countryside and horse paddocks and bird-watching potential. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and cleaned every day to a high standard. The food was varied and well presented with fresh fruit always available. I was fortunate to have visitors on most days who were always made very welcome by the staff. I would confidently recommend Henley House. It is very professional friendly and safe. I was comfortable and well looked after there. Thank you.

Mum had been struggling at home since my dad died in 2021. I had been her main carer for many years, I had a stroke in 2022 and found it a struggle to care for mum as much as I would like to. Mum had a stay in the hospital and came out with carers but as time went on struggled to do many of her
daily living tasks. My sister and I looked at a few care homes in the area and found Henley House by far the best, they didn't have any vacant rooms but we and mum were willing to wait for a vacancy, and one came up. Mum moved in on November 1st 2023. Mum did find it hard at first, going from a big 5 bedroom house into one room, but the care staff, management, housekeepers, kitchen assistants, and even the caretakers were so kind, always found time to chat with mum, the entertainment staff encouraged mum to take part in activities going on in the home, and to our surprise she did.
Mum went into the home being pushed in a wheelchair, but within weeks was walking with a walking frame independently.

Well done to you all.
