After all the downs this nursing home has faced I wanted to leave a new review for them on mine and my mums personal experiences. There have been very rocky times there's no denying it but since the new management team have taken over things are on the up. Rebecca and Sarah had a hard job on their
hands but they are handling it, there is a different feel to the place, more positive. Staff seem happier, and this is huge as the staff there are brilliant, the ones who really do care are being recognised and made to feel like they are seen. Mum is happy again, she's settled and again feels like she's home, things must be getting so much better because believe me she would be the first to say if it wasn't. The management team are very present too, the residents feel seen and heard by them which is huge. A "good morning" goes such a long way to them, and to have that relationship with the "bosses" (residents words not mine haha) means the world. Finally they care & it shows. Thank you x

I have been a resident at Priesty Fields for several years now and it is fair to say that the food here has been somewhat underwhelming. However, there has been, what I consider, to be a massive upturn in both the choice and quality of the food.
The meal choices are now tempting and interesting,
it's difficult to make a selection; from soup to steak, all the options are appealing.
As for the quality of the cooking, this is difficult to get right. Finding a happy medium is not an easy task, but I am more than pleased with what has been provided. Resident's feedback to the kitchen is taken on board and any adjustments made.
Both vegetarian and non- vegetarian choices are delicious and have put new life into old staples like tomatoes and chicken.
For me, mealtimes have become enjoyable again and not just a choice of the least worst option. Well done!

My mother passed away recently in Priesty Fields and I cannot praise the staff highly enough in her last days. They, without exception, from the nursing staff, caring staff, receptionist and housekeeping, were thoughtful, loving and respectful. It made the last days for Mum and all the family so
much easier.

My sister has been a resident at Priesty Fields for 18-months and is suffering from severe Dementia, which is deeply distressing to watch. The building is beautiful and the rooms are light, bright and clean. The staff at Priesty-Fields have been amazing during her time here. They genuinely care, are
very understanding, treating people with high levels of respect and dignity. From management through to the administration and laundry team, everyone is pleasant, helpful and happy to communicate. Although there's been several changes of management during the last 18 months, I have never had any difficulty contacting them and have always found the team to be good listeners, approachable, and responsive. Following each visit, we leave knowing that my sister is being well cared for.

Mum has been a resident for over 2 years now. She is safe, cared for and loved. Staff clearly care for all residents and treats them with respect. They show the same care and concern to relatives and friends too. Priesty Feilds has a real community feel to it. I enjoy visiting Mum and chatting with
other residents. I leave knowing that Mum will be looked after.

Respite care only. Priesty Fields was chosen as first impressions were that it wasn't like I expected a care home to be. It was clean, bright and welcoming and no 'smell'. Mum was cared for as best able due to her mobility. She did say that the buzzer was not answered when she needed someone. She
didn't eat very well but that was not entirely unusual as she could be quite picky at times. Having been approached by the nurse hopefully that can be remedied. All the staff seemed to be very friendly and approachable. We hope to have future respite placements.

Dad is well cared for and the home is well presented and clean. He participates in the activities on offer and socialises with others - which is a huge positive, as he never used to at his previous setting.
It would be of benefit to him if the length of his nails were addressed more frequently (as
he doesn't like having long nails).
It would also help to have a consistent point of contact/key worker who could let me know if Dad needs toiletries bringing in. Or we could effectively investigate/follow up physio or OT requests with etc.

The home is a modern well equipped residence with good quality rooms, kind and considerate staff the food is of variable quality although is being improved. Activities within the home appear limited especially in the area of trips outside the home.

Care good but sometimes hard to find when you need them.
Excellent entertainment and partys, staff tries hard to stimulate the residents and will dance with the residents. Some really good carers who hug and kiss my wife. I'm very impressed.

The ratings in the boxes are too limited to give an accurate report, as I would not leave my husband in a care home that did not meet my standards. For example, most of the regular staff are good but there are too many agency staff and some of them do not appear to speak English. There is a new
manager who deserves a chance to put things right. The chef is also new, we are self-funding, at approx £1350 per week, which is why I consider it not value for money.

My wife has now been a resident for almost 12 months. The care staff are excellent, but there is still far too much reliance on agency staff! I sincerely hope and trust that the new management will rectify this. The argument that they cannot afford to pay more is nonsense if they pay agency costs.
Unfortunately, the standard and quality of meals is way below what it was and what is advertised! However, the care given is first class and nothing is too much trouble, dealt with in a warm and friendly manner. Overall, Priesty Fields Care Home has my recommendation.

Overall, very good with very caring and permanent staff but too much use of agency staff. Lunch varies but usually satisfactory. I cannot comment on breakfast or evening meal. Security is almost too good with access to both building, lifts and stairs coded which is very inconvenient.

My mum is very settled and happy. The staff are amazing across all levels.

Excellent facility. Everything looks new and in nice condition. There was an issue with what appeared to be lots of temporary or brand-new staff. This resulted in the care being received wasn't up to scratch.
Poor communication between different functions was observed on a regular basis.

Visiting my brother is very pleasurable, the lovely surroundings, the staff and relaxing atmosphere make my brother very happy, he eats well and looks well and that is a priority. Keep up the good work.

Clean, modern, excellent rooms and cleanliness. Staff are amazing, but desperately short-staffed which has an effect on other things.

Very good. Service very good.

As a friend of the resident - he appeared to be happy during his time in the home - able to have a lovely birthday with friends he had invited - a chef provided at his request a cake - lovely food - the use of a private room. Starting on the ground floor he was able to wonder and meet other
residents - either in the lounge or his room and have visitors at all times - coffee etc. always available in the lounge. Moving to the third floor and needing nursing care after a stay in hospital - nothing was too much bother for the staff who coped with his frustration as his illness progressed and he felt unable to do as he had previously. The food and drink provided - difficult to comment - my friend seemed suited and I was not involved with the care costs ie value for money.

My wife came to Priesty for bed rest Oct 2022 having a pressure sore, which is nearly healed now. She is now able to partake in activities which are still limited due to her mobility. The staff and carers always take time to engage with her, but sometimes I do have to mention when things are not
right, usually when agency staff don't know her needs. The meals seem better with a new chef. Overall the nurses keep me informed about her care etc. which I appreciate.
