Cakes within service are plentiful & deliscious
Ensuites lovely but was thinking they could be slightly larger but are most definitely adequate.
Staff have all been very welcoming & helpful.

Staff friendly and caring. It's a shame staff change so often - something I understand but has a negative impact on those with dementia. Ancillary staff always found to be considerate and approachable.
It's a shame the home as only a minibus for trips Mum is unable to manage this due to due to
severe back pain and therefore is restricted to in-house entertainment or wait for family to help. I feel the recent price/fee raise is unacceptable in the light of family doing her washing, limited access to outside visits etc.

My mother is happy & well cared for. All staff are friendly and approachable. Occasionally activities are cancelled at short notice but she really enjoys the things she does. Shame that my mother isn't able to go out on the minibus because she is too uncomfortable. This limits the number of
activities she can take part in. Despite this, the cost of her room is extremely high for what she is getting - my sisters do her washing, she eats very little. This is especially shocking since the profit Barchester Healthcare are making. It is no reflection on the staff of the home who work hard & do their very best.

What a wonderful home to live in it is so lovely, friendly & helpful staff cake & coffeee great I have worked in a Care Home & this is one of the best I have 2 members of family as staff and they love work for a very good Company so clean & kinded- Tidy

I was very impressed at the efficient and friendly welcome given to Janet on arriving at Elgar Court care home. It was reassuring for her and certainly for us as her close friends. The standards on offer are 1st class and can be recommended to anyone contemplating respite care or permanent
residency..

I'd like to say how pleasantly surprised I was when I moved into Elgar Court. I was sure I wasnt going to like being in a "home". From the very first I was made to feel welcome and special and very much part of the community here.
I need help with various aspects of care and find these are carried
out in a respectful and thorough manner. Staff are always caring and helpful and above all kind and effective. Well done Elgar!!

For a research job in the past, I have visited all aged care facilities in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire over a two year period so I have a comprehensive view of what can be offered in care homes. I visited my sister-in-law who has dementia in November 2025. I want to say how
impressed I was with every aspect of the home:
Flowers growing in a box at waist height to welcome you.
A coffee area and lounge as you walked in.
A warm welcome from the staff.
The lift centrally placed in the foyer with simple codes to stop those clients who have dementia from getting lost.
The welcome from staff and clients in the dementia ward upstairs.
The wide welcoming corridors and clients' doors to their bedrooms.
The place smelt clean (i.e. no old peoples home smell!).
The staff were happy and friendly.
What a lovely atmosphere. Congratulations to all who work there to make this the home from home that it is.

You will not find a better care home in the West Midlands - full stop. The staff are genuinely caring; the food is varied daily and appears excellent quality. The facilities are first class (as a newly opened home, this might be expected) and visitors are warmly welcomed. There is a full list of
resident 'activities' published in advance and offering multiple experiences for residents. Expensive but excellent.

Elgar Court is now my Dad's and Mum's permanent residence. I have no need to worry day to day about any more so have more capacity on being a daughter again. The staff are so caring and compassionate. They also seem to have infinite amount of patience. The staff have made this difficult
transitioning period so smooth as this is a big step in all our families lives.
I do feel both parents are listened to which as they have got older had not always been the case.

My Dad has ben a resident at Elgar Court since November 2024, where he has received excellent care and kindness . Recently he needed to be hospitalised and all senior , junior carers and management were incredibly supportive . As a family we truly appreciated the professionalism and personal help
to us during a worrying time .
He has recovered so well and enjoyed celebrating his 90th birthday in July using the Private Dining Room at Elgar Court .
Everyone involved contributed into making it an extremely special day providing us all with very happy memories.
Thanks to all .

We had a wonderful family day to celebrate my Dads 90th. Birthday. It was truely an amazing event with excellent food and facilities and the support of Elgar Court staff. Well done. An afternoon never to forget. Thanks so much. EC make all the difference to my Dads life.

Elgar Court are doing a fabulous job of looking after my father in law, and he is very settled there. The activities are varied and they go out of their way to encourage the residents to participate. It is a great comfort to us as a family to know that he is so well cared for, and the staff are
wonderful. In particular, he had a birthday party this past week and the chef did a fabulous job of catering for all of us. Thank you so much.

My experience of the care home has been excellent. They organised the stay very well - even meeting us at 7.00 am on our arrival after a long journey from Scotland.
The staff have been excellent - caring and interested.

I came here May 1st - May 30th for respite care following four operations for hip revision. During this time the care and support of the management team and carers has been wonderful. My confidence in walking has improved and my general well being also strengthened. I cannot praise Elgar Court Care
Home enough. Would recommend it to anyone and my best adjective would be EXCELLENT!

Beautiful hotel like environment. Always clean and tidy. All staff friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Food (parents describe) is good quality and nutritious. My parents both look well and are recognising quality. Would rate 11/10!

My dad is being looked after very well now. He's now eating and drinking well and has help washing, dressing etc. Always very happy with amenities, activities and staff. They are very helpful and always let you know what is happening. Excellent.

Mum has been with Barchester Elgar Court Care Home for six months and I cannot recommend them highly enough - support for Mum, us, with the transition into care is second to none. Mum is happy, content and enjoys being at Elgar Court - it's more like a hotel than a care home.
