View Full Details of Barchester Bere GrovePrior to Mum going into Bere Grove both my sister and I were concerned about how she would settle. However as soon as she arrived all the staff made her feel so welcome, we all relaxed. Mum has now been there for over 3 weeks, and she is loving it. She's made friends, loves the activities, the trips and of course the amazing food. Now my sister and I enjoy visiting Mum seeing her so happy. Thank you!
"Excellent in every way" I came as a broken & ill person into the care of fantastic staff at Bere Grove. A wonderful team who's care & kindness along with many other things, have restored my strength in mind, body, & soul. A very quiet & peaceful setting, - not just myself appreciates, other residents also, Great pleasure along with beautiful gardens & activities - I could go on and on. Yes its 100% for a fantastic care home & facilities. Heartfelt thanks to all. I wish the home & team all the very best for the future.
Carers very good Food could be better. no choice, only vegetarian or a main course. Run out of croissants for breakfast. Ran out of hot chocolate drink. Run out of wine 3 times.
Excellent care, support from staff makes me feel happy.
Bere Grove is new and purpose-built with large rooms containing excellent facilities. The staff are professional and friendly. The food is excellent. The care is very good too, with great attention to the general welfare of the residents.
Staff very helpful and caring Mum says good great Manager is lovely and helpful
Staff are very attentive and are on hand to assist mobility and general requirements. Breakfast is excellent and variety of food good. The use of coffee machine excellent and also facilities offered to visitors. Choice of food offered at main meals should be judged by quantity and variety of food put in waste bin.
My experience has been a positive one. All the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly, regularly checking in on my mum to see if she required anything. Mum has felt settled and cared for which has relieved a lot of pressure off of me. Mum felt the mattress could have been thicker as she found it uncomfortable.
My husband has been looked after wonderfully in this Home. I thought he needed a nursing home but this care home is fine for him. It is a cross between a 4 star hotel and a show house. I love the homemade cakes and excellent coffee maker available to all visitors.
There is nothing to complain about with Bere Grove. The whole experience from start to finish has been positive. My mum has been there for 2 weeks of respite care post-operation and has never looked so well. The staff are brilliant. They are so kind and respectful to all the residents and very welcoming to us.
Dad was no longer safe at home so we contacted Barcheter Bere Grove. The management has been very helpful. They have accommodated Dad's desires for furniture, TV and pictures etc in his room. The staff have been brilliant, very helpful, caring and patient. Everything has gone very well. The food is excellent. The facilities and activities are great, it is like an excellent hotel. The carers are very attentive.
I came to Bere Grove for 2 weeks respite care but after 1 week I have decided to stay permanently and I am now in the process of converting to permanent. It's a lovely home, staff are lovely and manager is excellent. The food is delicious and everyone at Bere Grove is helpful.
Staff are always pleasant, cheerful and happy to help! I feel assured that my dad is in good care.
I was the first resident at Barchester Bere Grove Care Home in September 2023 when it opened for business. I have watched it grow in number and have become good friends of several of the carers. Unfortunately, I depend on help as I am not strong on my legs and my balance is poor. I receive excellent care though sometimes I have to wait for help. That is simply due to limited staff when residents are most demanding. I enjoy the varied activities on offer. The atmosphere here is very friendly and caring. I am lucky to be in such a comfortable residential care home. I am easily frightened but here at Bere Grove, I feel totally protected from outside harm.
My mum has had a lovely time. She has been looked after very well. Has loved going out, enjoys the food, so nice.
I visited my grandma and was pleased to see that she was being excellently cared for. The staff were friendly, supportive and encouraging her to join in with the social events and activities. The home was beautifully presented, clean and bright.
My mother has just moved into Barchester Bere Grove and cannot believe how thoughtful, helpful and friendly the staff are to her. Amazing people!
This score does not reflect the homes activities, rather Bere Groves mini-bus, essential for external activities. The residents waited months for Bere Grove's minibus to arrive following the home opening. Ad-hoc outings happened when another minibus could be borrowed during this initial wait. Soon, following eventual delivery the minibus broke down, it was in a garage for approximately seven weeks. No replacement was sourced, taxis were used, therefore only one or two outings were cancelled, although trips were changed to closer venues. Using taxi's impacted on the number of residents able to enjoy the outings, particularly affecting those wheelchair dependent. There appears to have been poor communication between Barchester Homes (not Bere Grove) senior management & the vehicle lease company that Barchester Homes use for all of their homes minibuses one assumes.
I have two weeks respite care at Barchester Bere Grove. Extremely helpful staff, well-run home. Lovely staff who go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. They really do and there is nothing too much trouble. The chefs are fantastic and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need and like.
Friendly, caring experience, nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful surroundings and every need catered for. Lovely feel to this happy place.
