View Full Details of Winifred Dell Care HomeEvery time I visit Winifred Dell I am very pleased with all the help I receive, as well as all the assistance that I always get there. I would like to give a star rating of 10 out of 10.
Mum was resident at Winifred Dell House for 5 years, before her death in Feb 2025. She moved in as a temporary resident on a dementia ward in early 2020, just before the start of the pandemic, because my father, her carer, was in hospital. Subsequent events meant that she became a permanent resident and the Care Home catered for her ever changing and increasing needs over the course of the next 5 years. We always felt confident that she was safe and well looked after and, as time progressed and my siblings and I were able to visit her and to get to know the amazing individuals who were caring for her, we felt increasingly grateful for the high standards and real dedication that they had. She was always treated with dignity and the carers' warmth created a friendly upbeat atmosphere. In the last few weeks of Mum's life we felt as if the staff genuinely cared about her and their sensitive and emotional response to her death confirmed this. We have no regrets about her stay there.
My auntie is looked after really well all her needs are met, also I am happy that she is in a safe place and being cared for. The staff are really attentive and let me know if there is anything wrong with my aunt
Winfred Dell is a good care home, residents are well looked after, the home is nice and clean, residents have lots going on too, always clean, my mum seems happy at Winifred Dell.
I'm very happy with the care provided by all the staff at Winifred Dell. We can visit mum as and when we like and take her out with no problem to the staff. Everyone is always very welcoming, especially the receptionist, who is always so accommodating. Special mention to the lady who organises the activities and days out for the residents, and to two other members of staff for their hard work. Thank you to all staff, really too many to mention.
I'm happy with the care I receive. All staff are polite and friendly. I enjoy the food I have. I especially like it when we have the singing, and I like to sing.
Home staff are always friendly and helpful.
My siter-in-law has been here now for almost a year now, very happy and we feel she is safe and we do not worry now she not living alone, staff very professional and supportive, plus treat her with respect and dignity.
It's a particularly tough job, but the staff at Winifred Dell maintain the standards as cheerfully as possible. There is a good level of professionalism, as there is care.
I am delighted with the care my mother receives. The staff are kind, diligent and alert. I could not ask for better for her. the home is clean and well maintained.
An efficient and well run care home with pleasant and helpful staff.
The overall impression I have is of the care home that really does 'care'. Overall the activities seem to be well run and what few of the residents I have met seem to be quite satisfied with the care they receive.
My husband has received excellent care and attention while residing at the care home. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The events that are organised are very well attended and enjoyable for the residents. Very clean and the food is very good.
1st care care home. Staff in all areas are 1st class.
It is really challenging to run somewhere lihe Winifred Dell so please take anything I say as just a few tips that might help things become more acceptable and pleasant. 1 Firstly, it is understood that it might be challenging to make the place smell more pleasant. Doors are left open in the warmer weather however done plug in deodoriser every 30 feet would really help matters. 2. One of the two lifts has not been in use dud to lack of lighting. It must have been out of service for a month now, this is inconvenient and gives a bad impression. 3. There is an apparently little used Reception area for guests tea/coffee. This looks the part but when you visit you want a cuppa with the resident. Only once has this been offered to me yet I have been present when the tea trolley has supplied a drink for the resident. A nice touch would be to carry some guest cups for the odd guest who might benefit from one. Generally staff are friendly but apparently thin on the ground at weekends etc.
We've been really happy with our Mum's care so far. Staff have helped her settle in and adjust. Everyone is cheerful and friendly, contributing to a cosy, family-like atmosphere. Visitors are welcomed any time. Rooms and all common areas are very clean and well kept. The gardens are lovely and a welcoming place to spend time. All formalities were handled in an efficient, caring way, making the process of moving Mum in a smooth one. The home has exceeded our expectations.
My friend lived at Winifred Dell for 9 years and her husband for 4 years before that her care was good and the staff were kind to her - she sadly passed away recently and she was cared for with dignity in her last few days - thank you.
My wife stayed for the first time at Winifred Dell for respite for 10 days. She was very happy while there, the carers were very friendly and professional. She found the activities interesting and stimulating. When I went to collect her to bring her home, she almost wanted to stay as she enjoyed the interaction with the carers and other residents! I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home and will use it again as the need arises. An excellent care home, clean, and well run. Very happy with the level of care my wife received.
Mum joins in with all the activities the home organises. The home is clean, tidy and well looked after. The staff caring for Mum are very friendly, they have time to talk to you when visiting.
I can only praise this care home. My mum has been treated with care, compassion and dignity. As a family, this wasn't a journey we expected to take, but the managers and staff at Winifred Dell filled us with confidence and alleviated our anxieties. Would highly recommend Winfred Dell. My mum is benefitting from respite care (6 weeks) but longer term care would not phase me. Winfred Dell really is a fab option!
