Home from Home.
For those of you who are at the time to find a home for your loved one, look no further.
It is a very difficult decision but necessary when extra care is needed.
Handsworth was recommended to me and what a great choice. My mother deserves to be looked after as she looked after
us.
We feel so blessed that mum is in great care in a great environment. The staff are excellent, attentive and caring.

Fantastic environment for my disabled Mum. She is incredibly well looked after. There's a real sense of family in Handsworth. Staff go above and beyond to ensure residents are happy and content. There is always an event or celebration for residents.

In November, Dad, aged 92, contracted sepsis and was taken to hospital where we were informed he was not likely to survive 24 hours. Thankfully after excellent care he was declared fit enough to be discharged. However Dad was now frail with complex needs and would have needed full time nurses and
carers to support him at his home. So, we made the decision to find him the best care home possible. And we did - we found Handsworth!
We did visit other care homes and whilst they were doing their best, they were nowhere near as wonderful as Handsworth has proved to be. We feel so blessed that they were able to accommodate Dad. His room is nicely furnished and comfortable. The Home is well cared for and the food is excellent. The staff are really impressive -everyone of them from the management to the caterers and cleaners. But the biggest accolades are reserved for the brilliant carers. They have truly improved Dad's quality of life and health and for that we are grateful beyond words.

Dignity care & compassion abound at Handsworth. Cleanliness & good practice are consistently evident. It is always an uplifting atmosphere to enter being greeted with genuine warmth, interest & good humour.
The activities are varied, inclusive & stimulating.
At a stage of life when Dad can feel
diminished he is made to feel that he matters here. Sincere appreciation & admiration goes to all the hard working staff.

Mum went into this care home for respite for five weeks They could not have done enough for her, she has never stopped talking about her experience especially about the activity with the babies and tenor singer. I would recommend this care home and have nothing but praise for all the staff. Would
definitely use them again in the future if we can.

This carehome is the standard that should be set for ALL other carehomes. It has strong and thoughtful leadership as well as staff who without exception are angels. My mother was resident for 18 months prior to her passing away. The quality of care my mother received from everyone connected to the
home was better than first class. Indeed the quality of care was not only first class but the the way the carehome facilities such as lounge, dining room, garden and bedroom as well as regular activities showed the highest quality of care was achieved. I have nothing but praise for Handsworth Carehome and thank them with all my heart for looking after my mum so well in the last 18 months of her life.

My sister has stayed at Handsworth three times now for residential respite and we both feel SO safe and reassured when she's there. The actual property is pretty, well maintained and welcoming. The staff are all incredible. So supportive and so loving towards my sister. They always share photos of
her and she always looks so full of joy. She loves the staff, the food, the fabulous and stimulating activities and the fact that she gets to be away from me for a while! I can enjoy my break with no concerns or worries about her. I too feel cared for and listened to by the staff. Handsworth and it's staff are an absolute treasure and we are both so grateful to have them. HUGE THANKS to everyone involved for making my sister feel so at home and allowing me to have a worry free break from my caring role. She always comes home happy and well cared for, full of stories about the lovely stay she has had xxx

My mum was warmly welcomed to a bright spacious room overlooking the garden (a beautiful spot which is currently being enhanced further). She has her ups and downs in health but the staff are so caring and loving towards her that it makes all the difference. We are so lucky to have found it and

MHA Handsworth, in my father's words, is the very best care home. He particularly likes the food, friendly/ caring staff, lots of smiles and the homely atmosphere.
We are delighted with the whole Handsworth team, the care dad receives, super activities, GP attendance each week and the environment
inside and out makes it a true home.
We would not hesitate to recommend MHA Handsworth.

My mum has been a resident since January 2023 and seems to be settled and happy at Handsworth and will often comment on how good the staff are. The only grumbles she has, occasionally, are about the food. However, she particularly enjoys the jacket potatoes which, apparently, are better than the
ones my dad used to make at home!

Dad has been a resident for over 6 months and his care has been exemplary. The staff are incredibly kind and caring and respond to all needs and support. The food is perfect for dad and the activities are well organised and inclusive.

My brother has been in Handsworth Care home for over 5 years now and I have always felt that he has received excellent care. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the home and the staff at all levels are wonderful: caring, cheerful, helpful, very hard-working and very approachable - it is
clearly a well-run care home and it's the staff who make this home such a wonderful place.
The home itself is bright and airy and as I walked in today, there was a lovely display of photos from a residents trip, being put up on the wall ..so nice for the residents to look at and enjoy! I feel my brother is in the right place and it's perfect for him.

Right from the outset at Mum' s assessment the management team were wonderful patient and respectful and listened to Mum (even when she went off on numerous tangents. Mum's medical needs were taken into account and acted upon as were requests for certain items in her room and nothing was too much
trouble. I know Mum was safe and being cared for. Mum's room was clean bright and airy and garden space was wonderful to sit out in. All the staff were very welcoming and respectful and Mum loved the library. Lots of activities (but not Mum's thing) which was great and I could not think of a better place for Mum to get the care and attention she needed. Thank you to each and every one of you you are all lovely and I would not hesitate to recommend

We were very lucky to find Handsworth Care home for our Mum. It was the perfect place for her, the staff are very kind and considerate and the residents are friendly and lovely to one another. Mum was made very welcome and despite being initially unsure about coming to live here, the warm welcome,
patience and support really helped her to settle in. She particularly enjoyed the activities when children came to visit. For us as a family it was reassuring to know that Mum was safe, and well cared for in such a lovely environment. We extend our thanks to all the staff and everyone involved with Hands worth.

There are seriously not enough stars to rate the phenomenal care the staff and the facilities Handsworth provide for their residents. Trying to find the perfect home for my friend was a daunting task until I contacted Handsworth, from initial contact to enquire regarding a room to my friend being
welcomed into Handsworth was seamless, the atmosphere in Handsworth is homely, safe and loving. To leave a lifetime home to begin a new life in a new home is a heart-wrenching decision to make, but all the staff have made my friend feel at home and are encouraging him to enjoy the start of his new adventure in life, I cannot begin to thank you all enough for your meticulous attention, outstanding care, support and love shown to my friend, his friends and family, you are all an absolute credit to Handsworth and beautiful people, much love.

We as a family, cannot express our appreciation regarding the level of care and kindness, received by our brother whilst a resident at Handsworth care home. We were particularly grateful for the speedy and timely decision to offer our brother accommodation when he was most in need. Words cannot
fully express our gratitude, thank you.
All staff offered an exceptional level of care, warmth, understanding and commitment that would be hard to surpass. We were confident that our brother was well looked after and safe, what more could anyone ask for a loved member of their family. Your support meant the world to us and will not be forgotten.

I have been a regular visitor at Handsworth since 2018 when my friend became a resident. He passed away in 2019 but I continued visiting as I had built up a great relationship with other residents and the staff. In October 2023 I was visiting and there wasn't a parking space on the grounds so I
parked on the road outside. After the visit, I was a little hemmed in and in trying to go forward and reverse out of the space, I managed to lose control and crash through a neighbour's garden wall. There must have been a lot of noise, as staff members (deputy manager) and the lady from the laundry were at the forefront of rescuing me as steam and smoke billowed from the engine. I was hemmed in by a tree on my side so the girls and others managed to get me free via the passenger door. No mean feat due to my own mobility issues. Handsworth phoned the emergency services and my family and looked after me very well. Handsworth were simply amazing. I can't thank them enough. I still visit - now carless!

Clean spacious facilities. Very large lounge and dining room. Good support staff and well-cooked meals. Rooms have en-suite. Regular events are held. Outstanding gardens and facilities therein. Good car park and is set in a quiet location.
