The home’s garden includes raised beds, a pergola and shaded seating. Gardening is popular with residents, who take pride in hanging baskets and summer planting. Seasonal events like the summer fayre feature Morris dancers, live music and family celebrations outdoors.
Dining is a highlight, with traditional favourites, cheese and wine evenings, birthday meals, and themed treats like “Treat Wednesdays” and Easter shortbread. Menus are based on resident feedback and all meals are made fresh on site.

I think my friend (male) is in the best residential home he could be in. Lovely room, and looking straight out on the gardens. The carers are very attentive to his needs, for although he is rather passive, the staff have got to know him very well. His health + general care needs are good + well kept, he enjoys being with other people even tho he doesn't relate well to others. The activities coordinator is wonderful, engaging as many residents in very day activities which they enjoy.

I cannot thank the team enough for the care, kindness and support they provided to my great-grandma. Following the loss of my great-grandad, it was a very difficult time for our family. The managers were incredibly compassionate and understanding, helping her settle in with warmth, dignity and reassurance.
The home truly felt like her home. It is beautifully decorated and has wonderful facilities, including a library, beauty salon, hair salon and prayer room. The gardens are also beautiful and provide a peaceful place to spend time.
The food was always excellent. After losing weight during a hospital stay, the team supported her so well that she was able to regain weight and improve her wellbeing.
The home truly felt like her home. It is beautifully decorated and has wonderful facilities, including a library, beauty salon, hair salon and prayer room. The gardens are also beautiful and provide a peaceful place to spend time.
The food was always excellent. After losing weight during a hospital stay, the team supported her so well that she was able to regain weight and improve her wellbeing.
Most importantly, every member of staff treated her with genuine care, respect and kindness. Knowing she was safe, happy and cared for gave our family great peace of mind. I would highly recommend this care home.

I have always found the care given to my father at Handsworth as very good. He always has clean clothes, is shaved every day and has regular showers. The carers do a brilliant job in often difficult circumstances, for example, due to sickness or leave absence, when they are under pressure and resources are stretched. I appreciate dad's care, even more so of late, as he is unable to feed himself or communicate properly and is incontinent. The carers are so patient with him and do a fantastic job. The kitchen staff have to purée his meals and do a great job of making them tasty and dad seems to enjoy them.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 4 years and we are so grateful for the excellent care she has received during that time. Of particular note is the welcome and attention she was given after a terrible experience waiting many hours for transport back to Handsworth. So many of the staff came and made a fuss of her (and me) and a hot drink and food were immediately provided. It was such a relief for us both after a difficult time and I was confident that when I left she was completely safe and looked after.
It is hard to single out the best part of her life there, the staff 'get her' and frequently make particular food she has mentioned; her involvement in activities is now limited but she is always included and loves the visits of the children with 'songs and smiles'. Thank you so much.

My uncle was in the home for almost 5 years. From the age of 100 to only 5 months from being 105. He was profoundly deaf since being only 8 years old. The care he received at Handsworth was wonderful. The staff were loving and caring and thoughtful. He was always kept clean and smart looking. The food was carefully chosen and well presented. He was treated as if he was their uncle/grandad. It was truly a home for him.
My sister or I went to visit at least 5 times each week - so we were well aware of the atmosphere there. We were so fortunate to have found Handsworth.

the home has first class facilities,garden,lounges and dining areas. the staff are very supportive . the home is always clean and never smells. rooms are cleaned regular and if there is any issues they call to advise. medical support is available each week with medical staff doing rounds.

This is the third time that my sister has stayed at Handsworth Care Home to allow us both some respite. She loves it there and I love her being there. The security of driving away knowing she is loved and cared for by all of the lovely staff is so reassuring. We are both made to feel so welcome every time. The level of respect and care is outstanding - her room is always lovely and the food is superb. I don't believe she even misses me :) :) I get photos whilst she's there doing some wonderful activities and her smile and joy just shines out and she always comes home with photos to keep and her craft creations. I would never hesitate to recommend Handsworth to anyone. It truly is a special place with beautiful and caring humans. The understanding everyone has of Julie's needs, her personality and her favourite things is amazing. I wouldn't mind a stay there myself but then I don't think I'd ever go home. HUGE THANKS to everyone. WE LOVE YOU xxx

We feel so blessed that mum is in great care in a great environment. The staff are excellent, attentive and caring.

Fantastic environment for my disabled Mum. She is incredibly well looked after. There's a real sense of family in Handsworth. Staff go above and beyond to ensure residents are happy and content. There is always an event or celebration for residents.

In November, Dad, aged 92, contracted sepsis and was taken to hospital where we were informed he was not likely to survive 24 hours. Thankfully after excellent care he was declared fit enough to be discharged. However Dad was now frail with complex needs and would have needed full time nurses and...
In November, Dad, aged 92, contracted sepsis and was taken to hospital where we were informed he was not likely to survive 24 hours. Thankfully after excellent care he was declared fit enough to be discharged. However Dad was now frail with complex needs and would have needed full time nurses and carers to support him at his home. So, we made the decision to find him the best care home possible. And we did - we found Handsworth!
We did visit other care homes and whilst they were doing their best, they were nowhere near as wonderful as Handsworth has proved to be. We feel so blessed that they were able to accommodate Dad. His room is nicely furnished and comfortable. The Home is well cared for and the food is excellent. The staff are really impressive -everyone of them from the management to the caterers and cleaners. But the biggest accolades are reserved for the brilliant carers. They have truly improved Dad's quality of life and health and for that we are grateful beyond words.
