View Full Details of Ocean LivingMum has been a resident at Ocean Living for over 18 months. We had cared for her at home as long as we could while having to work full time. Mum's dementia deteriorated and we made the difficult decision to find a care home. Ocean Living is a small home and we feel this makes all the difference. All the staff know all the residents. The staff are always helpful, caring and very chatty with Mum, making her feel 'at home'. They are very welcoming whenever we visit. Mum has been on several trips out which she enjoys at the time but her condition means she can't recall them later. Having visited other care homes we are certain that Ocean Living and their staff was the best decision for care we could have made.
My experience has been beautiful, I have been well looked after, I couldn't wish for a better place to stay. The food is lovely and we always have several options. I look forward to playing bingo on a Friday evening with a glass of cream liquor and we have a good evening. The staff are very helpful and lovely.
I like being here, good staff, very helpful, friendly and happy. I am well looked after here, my room is excellent, good view of the sea and very spacious. I enjoy my visit to the local pub. The food is very good here, plenty of options. A good shower. We play bingo twice a week, and we win prizes.
From the first visit I paid to this residence, I was treated with the utmost respect and friendliness from all the staff without exception. After meeting the senior staff, I understood why. To be living in a home positioned overlooking the sea and cared for in such a caring way is, I would say, exceptional. Gazing through my bedroom windows, I realise I've been very fortunate to have found such a lovely place.
Manageress handles her staff well. She is extremely kind and friendly with patients and their visiting families, when asked, nothing is too much for her and the friendly staff to oblige, she treats all patients with kindness and dignity.
My sister was the youngest resident at Ocean Living, (aged 70), and lived there for quite a few years. She fell at the home and was taken to hospital with three broken toes. She was in the hospital for about five weeks as she had developed complications, which resulted in her passing away on May 28, 2022. The only time Ocean Living have contacted us was to ask us to come and clear her room, not how she was. This was even before she passed away. The home (although told), has not been in touch to offer condolences or sympathy. I do not blame the staff, but I blame the manager as he has shown no 'Duty of Care' as my sister was still a resident. All the manager was concerned about was if the home would be paid for that month as after a few weeks the payments would stop. I find their attitude disgusting, for a home that is supposed to care for the elderly as their only concern is money-related. Would I recommend Ocean Living, certainly not.
Everything satisfactory.
My mother is very happy and settled in Ocean Living. It has a friendly and social atmosphere and excellent catering. The staff are very accommodating and the location is excellent.
I've been in Ocean Living for several years and always found the staff and conditions first class.
I arrived at Ocean Living in September 2016 as I needed more care. It is a very nice place and the room is spacious. The food is very nice and the staff are very caring.
Very satisfactory.
We were very impressed with the overall welcome, everyone is very friendly and there is a positive attitude to the way the home is run. Mum is settling in slowly, she particularly likes her new room with the spectacular sea view, she is also enjoying the homemade meals. It is reassuring for her family to know that she is being well looked after and that all her care needs are being met.
Mum went into Ocean Living on short term basis 5 weeks ago. Feeling very apprehensive she was made to feel welcome by staff and fellow residents. "The food is hot and tasty and is homemade", coming from someone who wasn't eating very well this was encouraging. Mum is now staying in Ocean Living on a long term basis. Staff are very accommodating and helpful to her needs.
Very good food. The staff are excellent and the rooms are very good. The area outside is very good with plenty to do and see. I would recommend the care home to my friends and family.
Very friendly atmosphere, staff welcoming and obliging at all times and premises always immaculately kept. However, activities/entertainment are limited.
I am most happy here. Staff etc are excellent.
