A very nice care home with extremely caring and compassionate staff. The food is great and my brother is always treated with the utmost respect and dignity. H e enjoys his stay, feels safe and is well cared for. I am very grateful for the support they provide. We have complete confidence in care
provided and would highly recommend Avondale Care Home to others.

The atmosphere throughout the home is very calm, relaxing and bright. The staff are very helpful and always smiling. My brother is very comfortable in their company and seems to get on with everyone he is in contact with. Thank you all.

I wish to convey my appreciation and thanks to all the staff and management in Avondale Care Home. The support, love and care I have seen for my brother is really wonderful, and he appears to be very happy here. He eats all the food and enjoys the music in the bistro. Everyone is very friendly and
welcoming. We are very happy with our brother living here.

Personally I am blown away by the whole experience, while visiting my brother. I can't express how overwhelmed I feel by the care and genuine welcome by every member of the wonderful team. You are all the most caring and loving staff I have ever met in a care home. Sincere thanks to you all.

My Mum had previously stayed in Avondale for short periods of respite while we went on holiday, and she - and we - were always very happy with her care. Mum particularly appreciated the activities, the meals and the beautiful decor of the rooms and communal areas.
When her health declined
rapidly during the summer and she needed residential care, we were so glad that there was availability at Avondale for Mum. The management did all they could to find familiar accommodation for her at short notice and even extended their regular admission hours to be able to receive her from hospital. The same staff whose company she had enjoyed in past visits nursed her compassionately and attentively during her final weeks, always willing to go the extra mile. They cared for us and comforted us too, when it was clear Mum's life was coming to a close.
We cannot thank the staff enough for all they did. Nurses, reception, management, caterers and especially Yellow - you know who you are. Thank you.

My wife was a resident at Avondale for 18+ months up to July 2025. Putting someone so close into care brings many extreme emotions and concerns. Avondale could not have handled our situation better. With respect, dignity and warmth. During this time, not only did they make my wife feel at home, but
they became a home from home for my family and I too. The people there are a credit to themselves. Management, staff and carers have become our friends. When my wife passed away, I felt a gratitude that her last days were spent in these surroundings. I will be eternally grateful.

Mentioned clothes go missing and other items: 2 pairs of glasses have gone missing, 1 pink dressing gown, 1 pair of slippers, 2 white t-shirts, 1 brown summer dress, 1 royal blue t-shirt.
Otherwise the best care home available.

Treatment of my Dad appears very good, from his arrival to date. The understanding of his illness is professional.

The staff all work very hard and never stop as when one of the staff team go off so the next staff go to work and nothing is ever too much for the staff.

My mother was in this home for six years and was really happy here. She never complained about anything. The low level of staff turnover meant that the staff all got to know her likes and dislikes and also got to know us. This was so unlike our experience of another care home. When she died, they
were so caring in a difficult situation.

I would like to express my thanks and praise for the staff at Avondale. From the time I met the lady who showed me around, I and my friend were very impressed with the whole set up. On admission I was greeted by the receptionist, we were shown to my room & within a short tie you could tell that all
members of the team whatever status worked closely together as a united team, so unusual in this day & age. The professional friendly care is outstanding, they introduce themselves at the beginning of each shift & whether medical nursing, care, activities or psychological support is needed they are there giving confidence & expertise. I would recommend Avondale to anyone for rehab, respite or long term care.

From the moment we were shown round, my daughter and I knew there was no doubt this was the place where my husband should spend his last days. From the management right through to the carers, the care & support were outstanding. Unfortunately he was not able to fully appreciate the activities as he
was mostly bed bound. It was a great comfort to us he was in safe hands for his last 3 months.

Was so impressed from just walking into reception, felt like a five star hotel, amazing welcome, amazing staff, top quality food & beverages. Residents seemed so happy, even danced to the amazing vocalist singing for everyone. Very impressed, I would love to come here when I'm older.

Great to see live entertainment and old songs residents know. lots of effort made to make the place look topical ie Valentines. Nice to see the Bistro busy.

Avondale couldn't have done more for my husband in his 12 months as a resident. The staff always went out of their way to give him the best care. The entertainment was first class and I was really impressed with the way the home was run. The staff were also very considerate in his last days and were
there for me and my family.

Beautiful decorations, so well done. Food delicious. Singer was excellent. Staff fantastic, getting Mum ready and bringing her through to the party. Staff all so friendly and fun, wonderful to watch them all being so caring to every resident and their family/visitors.

My sister and I would like to thank everyone at Avondale Care Home for looking after Mum so well for the last few weeks. All of the carers were kind, professional and caring with Mum. In particular, three ladies showed exceptional skill in dealing with a very upsetting situation. We both were
greeted with kindness and reassurance. It was much appreciated so thank you all again, your efforts very much helped us through a difficult period.
