I have been at Summerland since 2021 and came here as my sister was here and I had been very impressed with her care and the general atmosphere of the home. My room has direct access to the beautiful garden and I love to walk its paths. I look forward to meals in the dining room they are very varied
and the food home cooked. There are any activities of a wide range. I particularly like all sorts of quizzes and our arts & crafts afternoons. I feel very fortunate to be here. I have made some good friends and feel a part of the Summerlands family. The family also includes staff and management who together make it a special place.

Mum moved into Summerlands two months ago, after struggling to manage at home in Wales. The idea of moving all of Mum's many medical needs to a different system and to a home she had never seen was daunting, however once I visited Summerlands I knew this was where she would be happy. From the moment
Mum arrived we have been delighted with the care she has received. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The transfer of Mum's medical care was seemless and the home keep me updated with any changes. It is such a relief to know that Mum is settled and well looked after. I wouldn't definitely recommend Summerlands to anyone and feel so lucky to have such a wonderful care home close by,

Summerlands is an exceptional care home, made so not only by the building and lovely grounds, but primarily of course the fabulous care staff employed. They are to a person friendly, patient, knowledgeable and of course caring; nothing ever seems too much trouble. The events put in place each month
and especially over the Christmas period are/were fun and inclusive.
This is an exceptionally well run 'home'.

My mother suffered a stroke and was placed on an end of life pathway. The hospital wanted to discharge her to a nursing home where she knew no one - Summerlands supported me to argue that she should be allowed to return to the care home where she knew and liked staff, and where they knew her as she
had been prior to the stroke (fiercely independent, funny, mobile). The fact that Summerlands has the platinum level Gold Standard and staff are trained to support with end of life has given Mum and our family huge reassurance and comfort. Summerlands manager ensured staff were trained to manage Mum's transition from the ambulance and even stayed long after her day had finished when Mum's move was delayed to make sure everything ran smoothly and Mum was welcomed back.

Exemplary, the only word that I can find that comes close to describing the care Mum has received at Summerlands. From the initial friendly phone contact, to the first welcoming visits, from the thorough home assessment to the seamless admission, from the flexible daily routine delivered by an
amazing team of care, kitchen, cleaning and admin staff - what my mum and all of us have experienced is nothing short of exceptional. All of this under the auspices of an outstanding manager and owner - totally professional, totally hands-on - above all, kind, compassionate and caring. In summary, Summerlands is so much more than an amazing care home - it is truly home from home.

My mother came to Summerlands in June 2025. I was so impressed at that time, at the smoothness of her transition from her home to the care home.
I live abroad and each time I visit, then leave the UK, I am 100% certain that mum is being cared for in the best possible way at Summerlands.
I know
that I echo the views of other family members and friends when I say Summerlands is so much more than a care home - it is, in essence, a caring home.

The team at Summerlands have without exception been supportive and caring to mum and I as we try to navigate the complexities of dementia and depression. The staff are always take time to talk to me about any concerns I have about mum's health and share their knowledge and experience. They allow
mum her own space if she wants it, but gently encourage her when needed. The food, activities and beautiful garden are all of a high standard and are much appreciated by both of us.

I have been overwhelmed with the standard of care and the excellent living conditions. My mother is very happy there , and the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel safe and happy. Food is always excellent as well, with a good variety. Summerlands is always clean and has a friendly feel,
and the residents have an amazing garden to enjoy (which I look forward to seeing as well). They also have activities every day for the residents to take part in, and sometimes put on events for relatives to enjoy with them.

Mum continues to get great, caring support from all the staff, especially her regular carers. The home is like a warm family, as friendly as you could wish for. Her bedroom is fitted with her possessions, pictures and even some furniture. The lounge and dining room are light and spacious, and the
food is excellent, freshly cooked every day. The garden is a joy; filled with flowers, trees and shrubs. I believe it has already won awards. We are often outside, especially by the shaded pond, when I visit. We are always welcome to visit, at any time, and have got to know all the staff and carers. All her medical and comfort needs are answered and met. There is a programme of activity and entertainment every morning and afternoon, and a variety of visiting performers. Mum is happy there, and we are lucky we found it for her.

My mum moved into the home in February of this year and now considers Summerlands as her forever home. She speaks very highly of the attentiveness and kindness of all the staff, loves the surroundings and food and absolutely loves the beautiful gardens. Add to the fact that parking is spacious and
location is perfect in comparison to other homes in the area.
Highly recommend to anyone considering moving to Summerlands, especially to those living in the Lindfield area who want to stay close to old friends and neighbours.

Mum has been in Summerlands for several months now and none of the family can find any fault whatsoever. From the level of care, the accommodation, the food (which is delicious), the staff - all has been exemplary. Mum enjoys being there so much - it makes us all happy that she is so content - it
seems to have made her "young" again. I have been in many care homes as a visitor and can honestly say that Summerlands is head and shoulders above any - even those that are far more expensive. The garden is, quite simply, amazing as is the attention given to mum and even us as guests. Thank You All!

After seeing many care homes when looking for a suitable place for my mum to stay, I never imagined a place such as Summerlands even existed. This place is truly magical, and anyone who visits this care home would be blown away by the friendly home from home atmosphere, stunning gardens and the
exceptional staff who are passionate about what they do. My mum was lost at home, lonely most of the week, yet thought she was coping okay. Now she is settled in Summerlands, I know she is clean, well fed and socially interacting with other residents. The entertainment and structured activities, means that there is always something for the residents to do. I feel so lucky to have found such a place, that gives me peace of mind that my mum is safe and well looked after.

A truly excellent home. My mother has been a resident there for a few years and couldn't be happier. The care, the staff, and the overall service could not be better. I would recommend Summerlands to anyone considering care in later years. Very well done.

My mother-in-law moved to Summerlands at the end of 2023 and we cannot speak highly enough of the care that she receives there. The staff work very hard to understand each of the residents, and what is important to them, and my mother-in-law often comments on how kind they are to her. Whenever I
visit, there is a happy and calm atmosphere and a sense of genuine friendship between the residents and staff. The food is wonderful. My mother-in-law looks forward to mealtimes and is now enjoying a much wider variety of food than she was before she moved to Summerlands. The gardens are beautiful - very interesting and well cared for - and my mother-in-law gets a lot of pleasure from relaxing by the pond. A great deal of thought is given to stimulating Summerlands' residents and making things fun for them, and there are daily activities for everyone to enjoy. Visitors to Summerlands are always given a very warm welcome and we feel lucky to be part of such a wonderful community.

We are so lucky to have Summerlands two minutes away by car and ten on foot. If there are any better care homes to be found anywhere, I really don't know what more they could offer at every level and aspect.
It will soon be my mother-in-law's first anniversary at Summerlands. During that time, she
settled in and flourished. She arrived full of anxiety about how she would adapt and worryingly underweight from having become wholly overwhelmed coping at home.
The wonderful team at Summerlands and the fabulous ethos they have developed are fully to be commended for her transformation. Our inclusion in this process has brought us close to every member of the team.
I asked my mother-in-law just this week how she feels about Summerlands as the anniversary approaches. Her response was simply 'it really is so lovely here'.
Summerlands is truly exceptional in every way.

My Mum is in the end stage of dementia and has been in the care of Summerlands since August 2017. Summerlands have been fantastic and have supported my Mum and our family through her sad dementia journey. I can't praise the professionalism and kindness of the staff enough. I can get on with my life
knowing that my Mum is very well cared for which helps me cope with my mum's illness.

Mum moved to Summerlands in March and was our 1st choice of home. Mum struggled to cope at home despite a comprehensive care package and support from family and was very anxious and lonely.
Mum has thrived at Summerlands. She has a lovely room, and it feels like being in your own home. The staff
are proactive and forward-thinking. There's strong leadership, communication is good and everything is done to ensure mum/residents receive excellent support and care. Meals are excellent and feel social. There are daily activities am/pm and trips out. I enjoyed a quiz with Mum which was great fun. Just yesterday we enjoyed an event for families and residents celebrating each resident's uniqueness, and an hour of amazing music by an accomplished violinist who regularly visits. The staff worked incredibly hard and it was lovely for everyone to enjoy the event. Mum is making friends surrounded by lovely residents and excellent staff. It's all you could wish for your loved one.
