View Full Details of Heather ViewFrom when I saw the open evening advertised outside Heather View I was intrigued to see what this care home was like . This was something that I wanted to find out for my sister. As soon as we went through the doors myself and 1 of my brothers we were very impressed with the facilities in the Reception area. It was very comfortable and spacious. We couldn't stay till the end of the as my sister wanted to leave. I was contacted shortly after and was invited if we would like a show around which we were very happy with.
I had not intended to visit my husband much, whilst he was there, it was a respite for me. However, I was not totally happy with the level of care on the nursing wing. I felt I was always chasing, reminding and asking - my husband often left naked. The home, whilst very fancy front of house, is tired & lacks attention elsewhere. Wheelchairs are broken, bits missing, cutlery dirty & cheap. Food satisfactory but cold, on cold plates.
2 and half years ago , my Dad who cared for my mum passed away! Mum who has had to deal with M.S for over 20 years and has lost her mobility asked me to look for care homes in Crowborough and particularly expressed an interest in Heatherview. Fortunately rooms were available and within a week of Dad passing Mum had moved in. We both from day one have had no regrets over this decision, indeed through the care, activities , balanced diet , Mum from being a prisoner in her own home is now having an enriched life in her latter years, going forward I have no worries about the care mum receives , the carers at Heatherview are awesome and are more like close friends. They are very attentive and great at communication, they really do care and that is so important to us!
Lovely light and airy residential care home. All staff are friendly caring and helpful. A warm inviting welcome from the first visit for both my parents and their month stay for respite.
The staff are always helpful, supportive + happy. They always have time to talk to to you about any concerns you may have. My only issue I have is the clothes my husband wears have all shrunk which makes them uncomfortable for him to wear especially jumpers, joggers + cardigans.
Since my nan has been here we have had such great care they have all been so caring and welcoming and making my nan our family feel so comfortable, they are so kind and caring no matter how difficult things could be with my nan, I am so greatful for their care they have shown. honestly 10/10 experience.
When my nan was admitted, there was concern that she may have felt alone, as she was a very sociable person, and enjoyed company. However, the staff have shown extreme support and care for my nan, making sure she is never alone. For example, sitting with her at dinner and having conversations with her even though she was unable to fully respond back. The level of care relaxed any concerns knowing that she was in a comfortable environment and her needs were met fully. We are all so grateful for the job done at Heather view and we could not be more grateful.
My mum was transferred to Heather View in December 2024, we were all welcomed, the team always greeted us with a smile. I cannot voice how outstanding the home is. My mum is cared for with love and dignity, always. Family are treated inclusively. Every member of the team here are professional, caring and actively listen. My mum could not be cared for better. The home is beautiful, a home from home. Communication is outstanding, I could not recommend Heather View more highly. Thank you, beyond words.
My father is very happy here. Friendly and attentive staff and great facilities. Lots of activities, so never a dull moment for the residents. The downstairs cafe area is great for visiting, especially for grandchildren who like the ambience there.
My father has been at Heather View for 2 weeks now after moving from a very unsatisfactory previous care home. The difference has been night and day in my father's demeanour and we are so delighted so far with the care he is receiving. From the first contact to the day-to-day care and attention, we cannot fault the support, professionalism, nurturing and kind staff at all levels. My father, whilst with advanced dementia and terminal cancer, is still social and is enjoying the many activities Heather View offers, very much tailored to the needs of dementia residents. We love seeing him enjoy a glass of wine with his lunch and being treated with respect and dignity. With a cinema, activity room, music room, cafe, hairdressers and beautiful bright and light en-suite bedrooms, it really is a lovely environment. Having viewed over 12 homes to find the right place for our father we are so delighted to have found Heather View and know that our father's end-of-life care is the best it can be.
My mum went to Heather View for a period of recovery following a hospital admission. The staff at Heather View were absolutely amazing, showing nothing but care, kindness and love to Mum, enabling her to recover sufficiently to return home. The staff seemed genuinely happy to help Mum in any way they could and always had time for her, nothing ever seemed too much trouble both in the care they provided and the time they spent just having a chat, which she loved. The staff were wonderful to my Dad on his daily visits too, always making him feel welcome and part of the Heather View family. The manager and her team were an enormous support to my sister and me at what was an incredibly difficult and emotional time, they went above and beyond in every way. Thank you!
My Dad has been a resident for 4 months and is continuing his care at Heather View. The team has been excellent from all team members, and management for support with all aspects of the transition to Heather View and Dad's continuing care and from the team on Ashdown Suite. In the short time, Dad has been a resident, every member of the team has made outstanding contributions to ease the settling-in process. As Dad's care needs have increased, they have been discreet and professional in communicating when his needs have increased and sensitive to help us understand the decisions made. Dad has needed to move to the Broadstone suite to access more support necessary to meet his needs and Heather View has endeavoured to listen to family members' wishes to include them in this process of a move. I really feel the team have got to know Dad well and offers a holistic approach to his well-being as well as what his physical needs are now demanding. I can't praise Heather's view enough, thank you all!
This is the first time I have been involved with looking after the care of an elderly relative. Three of us looked around the home together and made a unanimous decision to choose Heather View. Now one month down the line I can honestly say I am very happy with her care and how we have been supported sorting out everything else. The management, care staff, and support staff have all been brilliant. I would not hesitate to recommend Heather View.
My mother has recently become a resident of Heather View and we found the staff helpful, understanding and very kind. My mother has settled in well and is comfortable and well cared for. This is my first experience of long-term care and I would not hesitate to recommend Heather View.
Heather View has provided care for my mother for more than six months now. Making the decision to move Mum into care was a very hard decision for me and my sister. It was a difficult time that the staff at Heather View helped make so much easier. Mum is settled now, and our visits are much easier. The facilities are great for us to have a coffee and something to eat in pleasant surroundings while chatting with Mum. To know Mum is being looked after by caring staff means alot to us, and we are very grateful Mum is being cared for here.
My dad was very against moving into respite care, but after looking after Mum with Alzheimer's for the past six years, really needed a rest and some help. We tried last summer for them to go to a home at Bexhill, but after one day of being there, he wanted to go home. We all visited Heather View, and after being shown around, Dad was very keen to move there; it is truly like a 5-star all-inclusive hotel, with the bonus of being completely looked after. All the staff are professional and caring looking after Mum and Dad. They have now been there eight days and loving it. We are now hoping they will stay permanently. Spend the rest of their lives without struggling. Everyone deserves that!
I was really anxious putting my mother in for respite care but I didn’t need to worry. The staff and nursing staff are absolutely amazing, very professional and caring. Nothing is too much trouble, they look after her with dignity and kindness. The food is wonderful and a good selection. She can always have friends and family for lunch which is a bonus when they travel from a long way. Thank you.
This home is a great place. It is bright, spacious, and decorated to a high standard. The staff are warm, considerate, and engaging. The facilities are far above the 'norm'. I am glad that my father is able to live in this safe and comfortable environment.
Staff have been charming and very helpful. I feel very confident that my dad is well looked after and would recommend this home highly. It’s very easy to visit, and the facilities and cleanliness make it a pleasure to do so.
The staff at Heather View are welcoming, kind and professional. The layout of the home itself has been well thought out, and the views over the Downs from the lounges and dining rooms are beautiful. The standard of cleanliness and the food provided are excellent. The kitchen staff are wonderful and will always go the extra step to provide things my father particularly likes. The care given to my mother, who has Alzheimer’s, and my father, who is wheelchair-bound, is compassionate and efficient. The staff in Heather View gave my father much more than just medical care. They take time to talk with him and support him emotionally. The social life and activities for well-being are varied and well-planned. There are regular favourites which give an important routine and always something new to make life interesting. Although they have a great deal to do, the staff always make time to discuss any concerns or questions regarding my parents’ care. Heather View is an outstanding place of care.
