My Mum has been living at Bluebell House for nearly a year, after her Dementia worsened and my Dad could no longer cope taking care of her..even with our help. She is well looked after, and everyone is very kind. We have got to know everyone, and are always welcomed. I enjoy visiting, and I really
enjoy sitting and chatting with the friends we have made.
We were also surprised with a yummy birthday cake and gift for my Mum on her birthday, which was completely unexpected!
My Mums bedroom is cozy and clean, and my Mum is well taken care of.
My Dad is always welcomed too, he is elderly himself, and I know the staff keep an eye on him and make sure he has a cuppa and a piece of cake too, when he visits.
I would like to add too, that anyone new visiting a relative or friend, should chat to everyone, it really makes a difference to get to know the staff & residents, as they are lovely. I know it can be a sensitive time, when someone moves into a care home. Thank you again

My mum has been at Bluebell House for four years this September. Her dementia is now quite advanced. I visit mum regularly and in all that time I have been impressed with the level of care that mum has received. Mum is very well cared for and I would recommend and have recommended Bluebell House to
friends. The staff do an amazing job.

My father has been at Bluebell House for some time. The staff are very caring and empathetic to the situation with his dementia and on the whole very supportive. They do seem to understand dad's needs very well.
Although generally the home has a homely feel and doesn't feel clinical or over
modern, the rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired and need updating although not uncomfortable for dad. I also think the building is generally looking a bit tired and in need of a lick of paint and a bit of updating. The garden at the back is difficult to use despite the time spent on it and again is looking a bit scruffy at the moment which is a shame. The cost has risen by £1000 per month in the last 18 months and I think a bit more money should be spent on upkeep. I do feel that they could keep us more informed about what is happening with dad sometimes I am surprised when I find something out inadvertently that I think they should have at least made a call or messaged about.

Bluebell House. Westward Ho!
I am so pleased with the way Bluebell House is looking after my husband. The team are caring for him so well. He feels loved and safe. He feels valued and appreciated. He recognises that this is his new home, and takes part in several of the activities,
especially the musical ones. I feel very blessed that he was found such a nice place to live, and has found lots of new friends.

Every time we go into Bluebell, we get such a lovely welcome - it has a warm atmosphere. I love that the Bluebell team is so caring to my mother and treat her with such respect and kindness. Management always respond very quickly if I ever have questions or concerns. She is being well looked after
and feels part of a Bluebell family.

We are so pleased that Dad's hospital respite was at Bluebell House and grateful they accepted him in December 25. We had started a search for a permanent home prior to this, but we did not need to continue our search when his placement became permanent. Dad is very settled at the home and is well
looked after. The staff are all very friendly and we can visit any time we like. I have visited during meal times and the food looks tasty and he is well fed. Would highly recommend.

Bluebell continues to provide excellent care and support for Mum. It's a pleasure to visit and I am always made to feel welcome. I see the same staff regularly who know Mum well, her likes and dislikes and accommodate her preferences accordingly. In particular Mum has been encouraged to participate
in the choir which has noticeably increased her confidence.

The home has been a lovely place for my grandma in the past 4 years. The staff clearly care a lot about her. They organised a lovely blessing for me and my new wife when my grandma couldn't make the wedding.

I have been visiting a resident for almost a year. He is very happy here and exceptionally looked after. All the staff are warm and welcoming and very attentive, and management is fantastic and always ready to listen should a concern arise. We were very apprehensive about putting him in a home, but
I knew that he would be safe in Bluebells as I worked with Kathy a few years back, so I knew I could trust her management and her staff. Overall, Bluebells is beyond expectations due to Kathy. Thank you all at Bluebells.

I question the recent communal room changes as this has caused distress to my mother. Was it necessary for this change to be made? Who does it benefit? The new view is lovely so why are the chairs facing the opposite way? There appears to be sufficient seating for the residents but not visitors.
I don't think being offered a wheelchair to sit on is appropriate. Nor is it fair to expect residents to leave the lounge and go to their room when a visitor comes to see them. Where is the inclusivity, socialisation etc.?
On a positive note the care staff show that they have got to know the people they look after, including my mother, which I find very reassuring, plus they have got to know us as well. The laundry service and food is very good and the home is tidy.

My father in law has only been staying at Bluebell for a week so far.
Staff are friendly and helpful that we have seen so far.
Dad seems really happy and in his words had to much food to eat, which is a good thing.

Bluebell has a homely feeling about it. Feel that I can speak to the manager when needed. Activities offered for anyone wanting to join in. I am not sure re the new layout with Activities upstairs as no seating for visitors but I am sure this can be rectified. I do not think the food is as good as
it used to be, sometimes it looks like it's been prepared in a hurry and thrown on a plate.

I recently visited my mum with my brother last week and thought how lovely it was to see all the artwork displayed a round her day room that the residents had been involved with.
It was a sea theme. We could see how much time and effort have been put into these wonderful creations.
We also
visited on Bluebell house family day.
And it was lovely to hear the residence choir singing.
We could see a lot of hard work had gone into this wonderful day.

We placed Dad at Bluebell after a diagnosis of Alzheimer's and he needed 24 hour care after various hospital stays for falls and illnesses, and he has been there a year now. Despite his decline he seems very content there and has a lovely room with fantastic sea views. The staff are wonderful & I
can't praise them all enough! They gently encourage him to engage in activities and he is very much cared for in a kind and empathic way. He has made some friends & says he is looked after well (he thinks he is staying at a hotel!) he really enjoys the activities and loves the food!
After feeling so guilty at placing him we soon realised he was in the best place for him to be well taken care of, and we highly recommend Bluebell if you are in the same position as we were.
Thank you to all the Carers, management, cleaners and other staff there who are helping make dads final years the best they can be.

For the third year running Bluebell House held its family day last Saturday 28th June. What a great event! The range of activities, events and entertainment on the day were exceptional and the day was so enjoyed by the residents and their families and friends. The hard work both in the
preparation and planning and on the day by the staff was phenomenal and a heartfelt thank you does not seem enough for the gratitude felt by those attending

We are pleased with the care my grandma has received during her time at Bluebell House Care Home. The staff are always very attentive to her needs and she feels safe and secure there. The activities coordinator does a marvellous job and works really hard to engage all residents, including my grandma
(which is not always easy)! To ensure she is not spending too much time on her own.

I went to visit my grandma and the nurses there were very attentive and took great care of her. I live overseas and was happy to see that she's living in a nice place with kind people. Thank you to everyone who's been helping my grandma over the years.

Dad was placed into Bluebell House Care Home following a hospital admission.
After much soul searching, as a family, we decided it was in Dad's best interest to remain as a resident at Bluebell, self-funding (whilst he can).
I'm very happy to report we made the right decision, Dad is thriving.
Thanks to the activities coordinator, Dad is happily involved in all things sociable, especially the choir where you would have found him proudly taking lead vocals at the family fun day.
I would also like to give a shoutout to the manager who I find to be very personable, approachable and efficient.
I would like to give a thank you to all carers, cleaners, cooks the odd-job man who Dad seems to have taken a shine to.
I pray Dad can continue going from strength to strength in your care.

We very much enjoyed attending the Family Fun Day. It was lovely to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the residents. We appreciated the thought and care that had been put into making it a memorable day for him. As family, we are heartened to see how much my mother-in-law enjoyed the programme
of events - especially the musical items.
A big thank you to one particular member of staff who organised the Fun Day and all those who ably supported her in putting on the day. It was indeed fun!
We have also appreciated the patient way my mother-in-law is gently encouraged to engage with other residents through the activities put on week by week. A big highlight earlier this year has been the change of room so that she now has a glorious view of the sea and coast that she loves and knows so well. It is also noticeable on recent trips that the intrusive sound of the call alarms seems to have been reduced, making for a calmer atmosphere in the home.

The staff are very friendly. My dad has been with them 2 years now. The food has got much better, as my dad does like his food.
He has a room with a view to the sea and enjoys sitting looking out. He provides the quizzes when asked for the residents, although does find it hard to write now. Due to
his spinal condition he finds it uncomfortable spending time in the lounge therefore does not meet as many people as he wishes. It is a shame there are a lack of volunteer people who come round and spend time with the residents as stimulation is a real must and the staff don't have the time, although they are excellent, they have all the residents to care for. It is a very caring home.
