The team at Hartley House are professional, caring and attentive. They take great care of my mum. They also pay my dad attention when he goes to visit her, which is important to him. Communication is excellent. Rachel, the manager, is a superb leader. Jacqui takes great care in organising activities
for everyone. All the team leaders are excellent.

'My mother moved into Hartley House Care Home as a resident at the end of September 2025. When I went to look around the home prior to Mum moving in I found the staff very welcoming and the home was clean and tidy. After a few weeks I did encounter some issues at the home, this was nothing to do
abuse or neglect of the patients as the staff are very caring and treat the patients with kindness and respect but was more administrative oversights. The manager at the home was very new to post, I since found out, and the home had not had a permanent manager for a while so it had 'lost it's way'. Once my concerns were highlighted I was involved in meetings and a plan moving forward was put into place. Overall I am now happy and things are very positive I get regular updates from the home so kept informed of what is going on with Mum and the home has a very active social messaging group regarding activities and events that are being put on. Mum seems to have settled well and appears

My husband has been a resident for nearly 6 months. He is very happy and says how much he likes Hartley House. It is a very happy, relaxed environment, and residents are able to go where they like on the premises. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect. The care here is excellent. Much is
done to provide an interesting environment for all the residents.

I would like to know why there is a lack of entertainment , my Mum who enjoyed the singer every week (as a lot of the residents did) seems to be coming less and less . The activities are really good that they do, but they all used to enjoy the entertainment E.G parrots ,animals and much more ,as i
visit my Mum 3 or 4 times a week I seem to of noticed it more.

We couldn't be happier with dad's placement at Hartley House. The staff are always friendly and because of the layout it is always easy to find someone if you need someone. The internal courtyard means that even with dementia, dad is able to open a door and go outside. Huge thanks to two
specific members of staff and the team for their care of dad.

My father has been cared for at Hartley House for the last five years. Initially he found it hard to accept that he was no longer able to cope living at home, but the team at Hartley House worked hard to settle him in. Communication with the home is good, and we especially enjoy the pictures we
receive, check in phone calls, and the prompt updates if Dad needs medical attention. The home is bright and modern, with pleasant areas to sit and share a cup of tea, The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a range of activities for residents to participate in.

My father has been in Hartley House for nearly six months and I can honestly say he is being so well looked after. The staff are always accommodating which gives me so much peace of mind.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hartley House to anyone.

Hartley House has cared for both our Mum and Dad over the past couple of years and the manager and her team have guided us through some difficult times especially for Mum and Dad for which we are very grateful and have always found them professional and above all caring.

Mum has been at Hartley House for a year now. I am so happy with the care that she receives and cannot recommend it more highly. She is always clean and well cared for. All of the staff are so caring, friendly and very supportive. It is always spotlessly clean and has a range of great activities
that keep mum occupied and happy. Having mum at Hartley House has given me peace of mind knowing that she is always being well looked after.

My husband has been a resident of Hartley House for over two years. I've seen a lot through that time as I visit him nearly every day. From the lovely manager down, the staff show compassion, empathy, kindness & warmth when caring for our loved ones. This applies to all the staff whatever their
role. It has a homely feel & fun & laughter can often be heard. The staff are also very caring to me & now feel like extended family. It's a very special place & I'm thankful that if my dear husband has to be somewhere that it's there!

The staff are very friendly, it's all very clean, my sister has settled in very nicely

My mum (with dementia) has been at Hartley House for three years. Everyone who works at Hartley House is committed to working for the patient's best interest. This includes the maintenance, laundry, caring, catering and social activities staff.
The management team are very approachable and
available to talk anytime.
Each member of the team has a friendly and professional manner about them, not only for the patients but also towards their families.

We have always found Hartley House a very welcoming, caring and friendly care home for my mother. The managers and the care team are friendly and approachable and understand my mother's needs. They run numerous activities and ensure my mother is included despite her mobility and memory problems.
There are also numerous carers on hand to deal with the residents and ensure their physical and mental needs are met. I would highly recommend Hartley House if you are considering care for a loved one.

Hartley House is a very friendly and caring residential home. Our aunt has been there for almost two years and in that time we have found that she has been well looked after with staff genuinely interested and concerned for her well-being. We are informed immediately if there are any concerns
regarding her health.
Her room and clothes are always clean and she very much enjoys the home-cooked food that is prepared to a high standard.
Given that many of the residents suffer with dementia, trying to manage and provide for all the residents' needs, must at times prove extremely challenging. Despite these demands, the staff are very approachable and understanding. There are numerous activities on offer, ranging from weekly singing sessions and craft activities to trips in the minibus around the local area.
Hartley House has a very happy and relaxed atmosphere and we feel fortunate that our aunt was offered a place there.

Hartley House has a warm and friendly welcome, and I am always greeted by smiling staff who know exactly where Mum is and how she is doing. As a family, we have been deeply concerned about Mum's recent deterioration but we have been met with compassion and understanding as well as being reassured by
the management's experience and care, so we feel Mum continues to be in good hands, and well looked after. Thank you to the Hartley House team.

The care home staff are happy, friendly and caring. The home is clean and the food is good. My mum seems to be well cared for. The social life (led by one staff member) is amazing.

We were warmly welcomed for respite care with a view of a move to a place that could offer future nursing care. The staff were very helpful and wanted to know anything special my husband might need .
He settled well and enjoyed the excellent if a little large, meals provided. He was well cared for
and clean and well dressed. There was always fluid to drink in his room. He was warm and comfortable and he had some of his own pieces in his room although he was not there long enough to have pictures on the wall but the offer was there. The management were very helpful indeed especially in sorting out tablets and any queries I had. The other residents all looked clean and well cared for and staff were always on hand to help in any way and there was a happy atmosphere and often laughter. I would recommend Hartley House .

Hartley House provides a service relative to the fees charged. Staff are professional and efficient, warm and friendly and treat residents with care and dignity.
My only disappointment is the lack of a replacement well-being manager to stimulate the residents with activities. I believe this
position has been advertised for some time.
