As I am unable to reveal names, my review is regarding the behind the scenes of my dad's care home, just recently having a long-standing issue with a clerical problem, that (even going into Easter period) got solved within a space of 36 hours, super efficiently, and certainly Dad and myself apart, it
gave me great ease of pressure, thank you.

I can't praise the staff highly enough. They were so kind, caring and thoughtful at all times. My mother-in-law was only in there a few days, before she sadly passed away, but her last few days were happy ones, especially as we took her outside in the beautiful gardens. She loved watching the birds
and the fish in the pond. We were all treated with such kindness, respect and dignity, at such a difficult time.

I thoroughly recommend this care home. The care is excellent. The rooms are kept clean and there is a varied menu. The staff are friendly and there is a good variety of activities in the lounge. Visiting is a pleasure.

Felt very unwell on arriving for respite. They were all so kind to me and after one month of care and sorting my medicine, I could go home. Would come again if needed.

I came to Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes care wing for 4 weeks of respite in very poor health and lost a great deal of weight and having mobility problems. I can only praise the friendly care, medical assistance and dietary input I received. However, it was their motivation to support and improve my
independence and enable me to regain my confidence and self-esteem.

Overall, I am very happy with the care my mother receives. The facilities, food and staff are all excellent. We still remain unsatisfied with the communication from the most senior management level. The communication with the staff in respect of her care is excellent, but the information received from
the senior management is minimal. In the Covid period, we had updates every week, then they stopped. We had to seek updates all the time. I am also concerned about the continual turnover of staff and the inevitable effect this must have on residents.

My mum was made to feel extremely welcome at Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes from the moment she entered the building. I visited her many times and she was always clean and well-groomed, and very well cared for. Her room was always immaculate and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was
excellent, plentiful and mum was very happy there. I would thoroughly recommend it.

From the initial enquiries made some time ago to the offer of a room in the nursing care wing, we have found all the staff pleasant, helpful and efficient.
The room my husband’s relative has is clean, light and nicely furnished with a very good bathroom. There is a good choice of menu, flat screen
TV, newspapers and magazines if wanted.
Attention is paid to making the resident feel comfortable and we have been kept informed of changes in condition, with staff making themselves available to discuss this.

Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes has a lovely atmosphere, staff are caring and helpful. My mum has transitioned from assisted living after 13 happy years into the care wing. This was facilitated after several falls with the help of the Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes management team. We are hugely grateful
for their help, support and understanding of her needs. I would like to thank the whole team on our behalf and have no hesitation in recommending Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes to other families.

My mother has been in Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes for a number of years. She is cared for very well and always says how happy and content she is there. She says all of the staff are really nice and throughout the pandemic, have always taken time to chat to her whilst she has been spending more time
in her room. As a family, we are all very satisfied that she is in such a lovely home.

QACH at Eastbourne has been absolutely brilliant, firstly taking care of my mum and stepdad, throughout the COVID pandemic. My wife and I would have been at a total loss if the staff at the home had not helped us out, at times going way above and beyond the call of duty. We are so grateful. We would
like to thank them all. Fabulous place.

I can’t thank the staff and management enough for the kindness and helpfulness my Dad, myself and my brothers have received since Dad moved to Queen Alexandra. I have found good communication between the home and my family informing us of my Dad's changing condition and his needs. In my experience,
the staff have shown that they truly care about my Dad and have put themselves out to help him in what have been very difficult circumstances, over the pandemic. My Dad is always expressing how much he enjoys the food and my Dad has always loved his food so that is high praise indeed!

My mother has been a resident of Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes since December 2019. Her room is large and bright, with a lovely view of the gardens. She is looked after very well by the team. She is full of praise for the Catering Manager, who took the time to meet her when she moved in to discuss her
dietary needs. Special attention is, therefore, given to catering for her food intolerance and she says that the food is always delicious. It has been a very stressful time for us all during the pandemic, but the staff kept us regularly updated with the latest protocols and most importantly have kept mum safe. I consider that they have put in place very effective testing and hygiene protocols for both staff and visitors, so I feel as confident as I can be that all is being done to keep mum safe from this terrible virus.

I have visited a friend weekly since she has been in the care home. I have received only kindness, politeness and helpfulness myself. My friend, who has Alzheimer's, Dementia and Parkinsons, has spoken highly of the girls and the food. As we are in lockdown, I have no knowledge of the facilities/activities
as I only meet her in her room at present. I do not pay her bills so have no idea of value for money.

I'm so pleased my late father was in Queen Alexandra. The staff from the senior nursing staff, carers, kitchen team, domestic team and all other support staff were amazing. My father had to go into palliative care and had not wanted to go into a home but the atmosphere, staff, care and attention we
received was exceptional, so much so, we didn't realise he was in a home. They were always attentive to us as a family and all his visitors, particularly when he passed. They made a very difficult emotional time for us more bearable. My family and I cannot thank them all enough.

The resident I visit selected Queen Alexandra Cottage Homes from the many in Eastbourne over 8 and a half years ago. I have visited at least once every month and got to know some of the staff. They have always been helpful and ready to help the resident as the need arises.

My Husband has been cared for well in this nursing home. The attention he receives is more than adequate. The staff are caring and cheerful if it is appropriate. The food is very good and varied. Everyone treats me, his Wife, as a regular visitor and contacts me if he has had to have our Doctor visit
him. Altogether all his needs are met and much more. Many thanks.

This is one of the best nursing/care homes I have seen.
As a retired nurse I perhaps pick up on things others don't see or hear.
The nursing staff are always helpful and caring.
Nothing seems a problem.
Food excellent and plenty of it.
