Situated on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, near the market town of Knaresborough, Thistle Hill Care Centre offers a friendly welcome to all which helps promote a true feeling of a 'home from home'. We aim to improve the quality of life for each and every resident living here with us by providing care in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our dedicated and experienced team is passionate about providing first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also provide expert care for younger people with a physical disability or acquired brain injury, and have close links with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Thistle Hill recently became only the second Yorkshire care home (both are part of Barchester Healthcare) to be awarded the prestigious Quality of Life Kitemark for Dementia Care Matters’ Butterfly Service™ for providing outstanding and sustained dementia care to the community it serves. Being one of only 25 homes nationwide to have received this Award, we aim to recognise, support and celebrate each person's individuality.

Our team of highly-qualified staff really focus on the individual needs of all our residents with a tailored care plan for each person. This dedication can be seen in all aspects of life within the home - in our cooking, hospitality and our social activity, events and visits programme which is designed to meet the needs and particular interests of all those who live with us at Thistle Hill.
