We are extremely happy with the care that our relative receives. Our meetings with Rachel have been excellent and all the staff are great. The family's issues are with our relatives LPAs who probably make life much more difficult for our relative and the staff than it need be.

For visitors to Stretton Hall it is like entering a welcoming high class hotel. There is a cheerful, happy atmosphere wherever you go. My brother is really cared for and the staff understand his foibles, managing them with good humour. Management oversees optimum standards of housekeeping and nursing
care. Thoughtful extra touches include a bowl of fresh fruit in the corridor for everyone. Photos of inhabitants enjoying activities, jog their memories to share with you. Staff although busy talk to you and your relative. I'm very appreciative of the care given to my brother who is not only looked after physically but is able to live not just exist. Thank you.
Reply from Rachel Price, Home Manager at Stretton Hall Nursing HomeThank you for your wonderful review. I'll happily pass your kind comments on to the whole team. We're so pleased to know your brother is enjoying his time with us.

Everytime we come it feels like home the staff is always kind and lovely can't do enough for you someone is always at reception if you need to give a message to of there carer/nurse.
My family member has repeatedly said she had to wait over a hour till someone comes when she has pressed her bell we
have explained this that the home is big and they will come when they can.
Thankyou for everything
Reply from Rachel Price, Home Manager at Stretton Hall Nursing HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand that when you're waiting for someone to respond to a call bell, even a short delay can feel much longer. Please be reassured that call bell response times are monitored daily, and our target is to respond within five minutes. I can confirm that our average response time is consistently well below this target.

We truly value your comments and thank you again for taking the time to share them.

I echo previous feedback in that i/we are always happy with Stretton hall. The staff really do offer so much kindness and care, and my mum loves each and everyone of them. It has been a tough year for us as a family with the loss of my dad [Dec 2024] who was also a resident at Stretton hall [and my
sister/their daughter in Sept 2024] but the staff have been so compassionate and without them, given that i live some 185 miles away, i don't know how i would have coped.

All the staff work extremely hard and it s is noticeable that the amount of staff on the floors seems to have decreased since the new company took on the management - i hope this is something that will be recognised and addressed.

The staff always have time for us, and the home itself is a very homely place to be, the entertainment is brilliant too, we always say if we were going to end up in a care home - Stretton hall is the place to be. Keep doing what you are doing, but please get more staff :)

The most adorable kind staff in the kingdom. It is the second time my civil partner has had respite there and I trust them fully. The manager and staff are exceptional in their daily duties, always there for you when you are in distress
In my book Stretton Hall Nursing home has all the facilities one
could ask for. Lovely ensuite rooms , beautiful gardens, lovely food, caring staff . Absolutely spotless to the core and a wonderful security system as well.
Residents who are able to have mini trips, newspapers for those who have vouchers or pay for them . Even if little treats are required . Exceptional in my book . I would entrust them to have his full care permanently if need be.
I cannot say that about one other nursing home.
Carry on doing a grand job all of you and deep sincere thanks from us both. I will certainly make the hall my first port of call anytime.
Reply from Rachel Price, Home Manager at Stretton Hall Nursing HomeA heartfelt thank you to you both for this incredible review. Your kind words will be shared with the whole team. It means so much that you trusted us with the care of your beloved husband. It's truly been a privilege to be part of both of your journeys, best wishes to you both.

We found the home very welcoming and the staff always had time for us, making us cups of tea or coffee on arrival to visit my auntie who was made comfortable and was well looked after for the short time she was in the home, a very homely place to be and always some sort of entertainment going on to
stimulate the elderly residents if they want to join in.

We as a family were incredibly happy with Stretton hall. The staff really display the up most professionalism, kindness and care. Bring honest in this review, the only issue we spotted were that the amount of staff seemed to decrease since the new company took on the management. All the staff deserve
praise and appeared to work even harder to make up for when they were short. I hope their wage reflects their value. Thank you so much.

My mother in law was unable to walk or stand due to a urine tract infection. I didn't think hospital was the place for her, felt she needed some tender loving care. It was quite stressful knowing what to do for the best. Rang up Stretton Hall and spoke to the amazing manager. They agreed to accept her
as an emergency admission. We are so grateful. She is up and about and on her feet again. Everyone has been fantastic. Thank you.

Stretton Hall cared and looked after my sister for approximately eleven months. The help and support she received was second to none. could have hoped for. Thank you for your support.

We could not have wished for a better place for my dear relative of 94 years to have spent his last days. From beginning to end, everything went smoothly and efficiently. The room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable with an outlook onto trees and a garden. We cannot praise and thank the staff

The whole experience of having my mother and father-in-law in Stretton Hall has been a positive one. The staff at Stretton Hall cannot do enough for them. It's obviously a logistical challenge when you are presented with 2 elderly people within a few months who both require nursing care and who would
like to have rooms near each other. But they really pulled out all the stops for them so they could have rooms almost adjacent. They even offered to turn one room into a shared bedroom and the other a living room. The staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The facilities are excellent, more like a hotel than a care home. The previous care home in Ludlow was very sterile and not homely, whereas Stretton Hall has a lovely feel about it.
Special mention to the staff members who we have had cause to deal with regularly but in reality all of the staff and the entertainment that Stretton Hall brings in from outside are awesome. Thanks for taking great care of them.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.770)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.770) out of 10 for Stretton Hall Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.820 for Stretton Hall Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (170 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 206 Ratings = 4.82
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stretton Hall Nursing Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
