Since my dad's been here he's been very happy and stable. There's lots of activities going on and he participates in all of them. When he was at home he just sat in front of the TV. The staff are wonderful, they take care and genuinely enjoy doing so. The home is spotless and food is 10/10. I'm so happy
he's here.

My mum has been a resident of Milton House for nearly 3 and a half years. In that time she has been looked after with such care and dignity. All the staff became her second family and Milton House became home to my mum. Yes she had favourite members of staff but she always had a smile for everyone.
In her final days she was cared for with dignity and love and as her daughter I couldnt of asked for anything more. My thanks to you all
Reply from Rheden, Home Manager at Milton HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a touching review and for your very kind words. It truly meant a great deal to all of us at Milton House to care for your mum over the past three and a half years. She was a much-loved member of our Milton House family, and it was a privilege for our team to support her and to share so many moments with her. Her smile and warmth will always be remembered by staff. Providing care with dignity, compassion, and respect especially in a person's final days is something we hold very close to our hearts, and we are deeply grateful to know that you felt supported during such an emotional time. On behalf of the whole team, thank you for trusting us with your mum's care. Our thoughts remain with you and your family.

I cannot praise enough the stuff and the care that the home gave our dear Mum in the last year of her life. They really looked after her and we had absolutely no worries about her being there. She could be challenging at times but nothing was too much for all the staff. Every single one of them are
fantastic,Management,Carers, activities team even down to the cleaners and cook all them are friendly helpful and caring. Just what you need to put your mind at ease. Even after Mum passed we are still in contact. A wonderful team and perfect home.
Reply from Rheden, TBC at Milton HouseThank you so much for your lovely words. It really meant a lot to all of us to be able to look after your mum during her last year. She was such a special lady and we all grew very fond of her. All of our team including carers, activities staff, kitchen, housekeeping and management were touched by your kindness and by your mum's fighting spirit and strong will to have fun and enjoy each day as it came. I have always found all staff to be courteous and helpful. The catering at Whittingham House is excellent and the communal areas are clean, well decorated and spacious. The outside space at the front and to the rear is very pleasant and my brother likes to sit in the rear garden and read his book.
The
manager always keeps me fully informed of any issues and I feel confident that my brother is being well cared for.
I would have given 5 stars but when we looked for a care home, one of the reasons we chose Whittingham House was because the website stated that residents are able to go out to the seafront etc. in the minibus. I have raised this issue in the past and I was told that the minibus was out of action due to mechanical failure. I also raised the issue at one of the residents meetings and was told that Head Office were looking into it. That was the last I heard and as far as I am aware the minibus has still not been repaired.
All in all a very good care home.
Reply from Kathleen Bance, Home Manager at Whittingham HouseThank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate that our mini bus is unavailable at the moment but we have discussed this with higher management and hopefully this summer we can hire a mini bus to take the residents for outing. We will let you know when this happens.

Milton House is a true home, full of love, warmth and laughter. My friend is now calm and confident and cared for, and visiting her here is joyful, where it used to be upsetting and tearful in her previous home. All the staff are, quite frankly, exceptional.

The care my mother received was excellent, the carers were all lovely people. The food was obviously good mum didn't complain once in 3 years about food. During her last days the care she received from the home staff was excellent and compassionate.
The reason I didn't give 5 stars was the cost of
the home.I was told I had to pay a huge bill each month to subsidise all the council patients. This is totally unfair.
I would and have recommended the home to friends.
Reply from Kathleen Bance, Home Manager at Whittingham HouseWe appreciate the kind thoughts and compliments. Regarding the fees, we genuinely appreciate your openness. I'll like to thank the staff for the care and hard work that they put in everyday to make the residents feel at home. Our brother seems content to be at the care home and as a family it's comforting to know that our brother is being taken good care of. Never a boring moment because of the various activities
that the staff engage with the residents. The smile on their faces, say it all. Thanks for the priceless feedbacks of pictures and video clips of our brother.
Reply from Kathleen TBC, Home Manager at Whittingham HouseThank you for the kind words. We are glad to know that you are reassured of your brothers welfare. We endeavour to keep up with the good care that we provide to all our residents.

My mother has been a resident here for 2.5 yrs. The new senior management team have been an absolute delight to work with, highly proactive and nothing is too much trouble. I feel confident that my mother is under the best care. Likewise, their staff provide the utmost care and support and I have
high respect and regard for their loyalty and ongoing hardwork provided within this sector.
I would not hesitate recommending Whittingham House Care Home to others.
PS -
One small thing. It would be most helpful if it was compulsory for all staff to wear a name badge so we are able to identify and share special praise with Management.
