I went to Barton Lodge for respite following surgery. B.L staff were all very welcoming and are all efficient and caring in their roles. Residents were very friendly - It appeared well managed with happy staff. Good teamwork. Admission & discharge process easy to complete. B.L proved to be a lovely
caring home. It has beautiful gardens and stunning views over the Isle of Wight. Food was good, a wide variety & choice of menu and personal diet needs are easily accommodated. A wide choice of activities are offered.
Should the need arise in future I will not hesitate to book in again and will have great confidence recommending B.L to other people

I was struggling to find a suitable care home wit friendly and compassionate staff to provide care for my 94 year old mother. I then had the good fortune to have a friend recommend Barton Lodge Care Home. I cannot praise the manager and her wonderful staff enough. The home is situated in a great location
and very professionaly run. I instantly got a homely feeling when I entered the building and was very taken back on how friendly and chatty the residents and staff were. It was very evident that the residents' wellbeing was at the heart of everything. My mother has been at the home for 11 months. I summarise my last conversation with her 'I fell very safe and happy here. The staff cannot be more friendly and accommodating'.

Mum arrived at Barton Lodge Care Home just after its refurbishment. Immediately I was confident that she would be happy and that has very much been the case. She participates fully in all the activities and I leave after each visit completely confident that she is well cared for. The staff are always
positive and cheerful and willing to go the extra mile.

Mum has been at the care home for six months now and during that time the care has been excellent. I am advised promptly of any problems which are dealt with speedily and professionally. When my husband died they went to great lengths to ensure mum was looked after and able to cope with the information.
Her room is always clean and tidy. Fun activities!

An ideal place to recover from knee operation, pleasant surroundings, clean comfortable room and communal areas in fact 5 star accommadation! All staff from housekeeping, chef, carers team leaders and management friendly and approachable. Both my mother and husband have been residents here so I felt
very much at home and was welcomed as an old friend. Loving care a true description as it does matter here.

The manager and the whole BL team looked after my father, following his kidney operation and nephrostomy in Jan 2025 to get his strength and independence back. My father and we his family were delighted with the quality of care and his overall experience. He only left in May, after 4 months, to be
closer to his family in the latter stages of his uretha cancer, to a home in South London; that could offer more comprehensive medical support as his terminal cancer condition deteriorates. Whereas the new home is better suited to his current medical needs, it is notable that the quality, speed of response and genuine affection, attentiveness, care and compassion of the BL staff, and particularly the nurses and all the carers; particularly one carer, but all of them. The staff were much more friendly and caring, to make Dad's stay more comfortable and enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble for them at every interaction. Please accept Dad & his family's heart-felt thanks
Reply from Amanda Cooper, Manager at Barton Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message. We are deeply touched to hear your reflections on your father's time with us at BL, and it truly means a great deal to the entire team to know that we were able to support him and your family during such a challenging period. It was a privilege to care for your father and while we understood and fully support the decision to move him to a home better equipped for his current medical needs, we are certainly missing him. We send our very best wishes to him and you all.

My Mum became a Woodley Grange resident in March 2025. She has received the best of care from managing medication, everyday care, to excellent fresh food and laundry. The staff are excellent and welcoming and are building a good relationship with Mum and us. They run stimulating activities everyday
and have a lovely garden to sit in. Thank you to all staff at Woodley.

Activities are appropriate for the residents' needs and regular outside entertainment is excellent.

The staff at Woodley Grange are professional, kind, and very experienced. They not only took excellent care of mum but also held our hands as her dementia progressed. After 2.5 years at Woodley Grange, Mum has just moved to a nursing home due to increasing care needs, but again the Woodley Grange team
supported us through this. A huge thank you to them all.

When we decided that my mom needed constant care, we contacted Woodley Grange as my mum liked the idea of living in the Romsey area, the support and care shown to my mum was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, they have gone above and beyond with their care and empathy to us, understanding that
this was quite emotional for all of us. The entertainment partners really do make a fantastic effort with all their trips and ideas, it really does make it a home-from-home. Thank you Woodley.

I was at Barton Lodge Care Home between May and October 2024. I was in very poor health when I arrived. Right from the word go, I received amazing attention from the team at Barton Lodge. I had a marvellous five months, taking me from the depths of despair to where I am now, back in my own home. Thanks
to the team's close attention and kindness.

Woodley Grange is a wonderful care home. All the staff are wonderful. Friendly, caring and professional. Dad is always telling his family how caring the staff are to him. Dad enjoys his meals at home, especially when the chef makes her delicious food. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone

My mum was a resident at Barton Lodge for the last 8 weeks of her life. From our very first visit to the care home, before we were even sure we needed it, we were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. We noticed that the care home manager took a personal interest in residents
while she was showing us around.
Throughout Mum's stay at Barton Lodge, she was treated with dignity, kindness, and real loving care from all the staff. Every single member of staff that we came into contact with was cheerful, kind, and caring. Staff formed a good relationship with us and kept us fully informed of Mum's care and needs. We felt that all her needs were met and the care home was able to arrange visits from the GP, podiatrist, dentist, and optician.
The quality of the environment was excellent, including the furnishings, activities on offer, and the gardens. The care home was able to give Mum some comfort and peace in her last few weeks and she received excellent care.
Reply from Amanda Cooper, Manager at Barton Lodge Care HomeThank you for your kind words, it was an absolute pleasure to look after your mum and even though she was only with us for a couple of months, she is very much missed.

From the initial tour of Woodley Grange and positive information that reassured us that my mum would be in the best place for a respite stay. Mum was supported extremely well for settling in and supported in every way possible. Her daily visitors were made welcome. She enjoyed the meals and the room
has provided her with a pleasant sanctuary. Thank you to all the carers for all your kindness and all the managers for their reassuring support.
