In the two years since her promotion to registered manager, Loraine has been fulfilling her dream of running a home that supports wellbeing, progress, happiness and fulfilment. Her focus is on activities and person-centred care for the residents and developing the skills and knowledge of her team through training, mentorship, and structured goal setting.
She has an NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management and has been trained in the "Six Steps End of Life Care".
She loves to travel, with the USA and Eastern Europe being her favourite destinations. Her family includes two adult children, three grandchildren and Ollie the dog.
Rebecca has a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management. Having completed the Countess Mountbatten "End of Life Care Programme", she has taken on a role as "End of Life Champion", supervising, supporting and mentoring the staff during these difficult times.
Becky balances her demanding career with a busy family life involving three children and pets too numerous to mention.
In her role as a senior care team manager, Beth takes on significant responsibilities, including coaching and developing the skills and knowledge of her colleagues. Like Loraine and Becky, she has completed the Level 5 qualification and end-of-life training. Beth is a champion for two critical areas: end-of-life care and falls prevention.
When she isn't working, she enjoys travelling with friends and takes as many sunny holidays as possible.
Jake joined our team, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the care sector. Before joining us, he worked for a charity supporting adults with acquired brain injuries. Since the age of 18, Jake has held a variety of roles across the care industry, including working with adults with autism and challenging behaviour, older adults living with dementia, and individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
He holds a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care, along with additional relevant training, demonstrating his commitment to ongoing professional development. Although this is Jake’s first role as an Activity Organiser, he has taken to it with enthusiasm and passion, enjoying every aspect of the job.
Outside of work, Jake enjoys life with his blended family: his partner Jenna and their three children. He loves spending quality time with them, and when it’s time to unwind, you’ll often find him playing football, singing, or testing his knowledge in pub quizzes with friends.
Melanie has recently joined the home from the hospitality industry. Before that, she worked as a care assistant.
Mel is very creative and enjoys finding new and exciting activities. If a resident has a desire to do something or go somewhere, Melanie will do her best to fulfil this wish.
Two children and a dog keep her busy in her spare time. She lives near the forest and loves to go for long walks there. She does, though, find time to go to many concerts and festivals.
We promoted Stefan to Head Cook two years ago. Stefan is a versatile cook who handles the diverse culinary requests of the residents with ease.
He lives locally with his long-term partner, Lilly, who also works at the home. They met at Woodley Grange, and we are pleased to have brought two lovely people together.
Before joining the home, Mandy worked at a local primary school as head cook, catering for 150-200 children a day. In need of a fresh challenge, Mandy joined Woodley Grange as head cook in 2011, but a couple of years ago, she decided to reduce her hours and so swapped roles with Stefan.
She holds an MVQ in catering as well as qualifications in social care.
Mandy has a grown-up family and has lived in Romsey for the last 28 years, where she knows many people through working at the school, and, indeed, the home. She enjoys relaxing walks and watching motorcycle racing.
Anne joined the Homes as our bookkeeper in 2007, making a change from working for engineering and construction companies.
Anne has a Level 4 Accounting Technician qualification.
She enjoys the Home and the company of the residents and often stays on into the evenings for a chat. She relishes learning snippets of unofficial first-hand history from the residents.
Taking country walks has always been her pastime, and she regularly takes one of the scenic routes commuting to and from Woodley Grange
When Hannah arrived, she quickly became part of our well-established team. She takes a very methodical approach to her work to ensure the home is kept clean and tidy.
Her previous experience has been working in the hospitality and retail industry.
Hannah is very keen on fitness; she goes to the gym and has an A Level in Sport and Exercise Science. She is also a qualified salsa and street dance teacher.
