My mother spent 6 very happy years here. She settled in very quickly helped by the caring approach of the staff and the excellent food. She was always treated as an individual and any of her preferences were respected. She would often say to me how lucky she was. As a family, we were always welcomed
when we visited and found the staff and management very friendly and approachable. My mother had her 90th birthday in the home with family and friends present. A room and food were provided. Nothing was too much trouble.

When we needed help/advice when very disturbed, confused and upset about Mum's care needing to be put into expert hands, Woodley Grange were there to advise and help in every way. They helped mum to adjust, and me as a very concerned daughter. She has adjusted very well and integrated wonderfully, her
needs change as time goes on and are always accommodated. All the facilities/amenities are wonderful in all ways.

The care has been of the highest quality through the stay of my relative. The staff are always very polite to the residents and treat them with dignity and respect. The whole place is spotlessly clean and bright. The good decorative order is always well maintained. We are very fortunate to have found
Woodley Grange.

When my Dad came to Woodley Grange I was amazed at how attentive all the staff were, nothing was too much trouble and that extended to the family as well.
His room is big, light and airy and always clean.
The choices of food are always delicious.
My Dad has been extremely happy since arriving here
which makes me happy to know he is being cared for.

I have been impressed with the professionalism, kindness, courtesy and pure humanity shown by all the staff. I don't only mean the carers who really have that as part of their job description, but also the support staff - cleaners, kitchen staff, activities staff, maintenance. As I only live a few minutes
away, I have been able to visit my mother very frequently and at different times of the day and week. So when I see the home it is "as it is". There is no possibility of a show or stage management and I rarely saw anything that disturbed me. What I liked was if I did raise a point, either via email/phone to the manager or verbally to a member of staff, then there tended to be a response and solution within a short while - often the same day.

My mother joined the home in August. She came from another care home. The move was necessary due to serious issues. Since mum's arrival, she has been made to feel welcomed by all staff and especially by the manager. She is very happy indeed. There are other ladies she can chat to. Very happy environment
and relaxed.

My mother had excellent 'end of life' care at Woodley Grange. Her welfare was of the greatest importance in every way from all the staff, we couldn't have asked for better.
The family were always welcome to visit day or night and given much needed support at a very sad time. My mother was a resident
for two and a half years and always said she was very happy there.

I would like to start with the two and a half years that my mother has lived at Woodley Grange. My mother so loved her life at Woodley and was very, very happy there, she thought of it as a home. My sister and I have always been delighted with the care our mother received and any health problems were
dealt with quickly and my sister and I were always kept informed. They, as a team at Woodley, are very professional and delightful.

My sister was in hospital and I was told that she could no longer live alone. I came to Woodley Grange and I liked the outside straight away. It was modern. I was shown around and met the staff.
The building was clean and tidy and the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Her room
was large and all the facilities were excellent. The only reason she is moving is that she now has to go to a nursing home.

Over the last 25 years I have visited 2/300 care homes in my capacity as a supplier of cleaning/hygiene products, so I feel very qualified to comment.

Woodley Grange is, by a distance, superior to all of them; décor, staff, food, rooms, activities and cleanliness are faultless. We feel very lucky

indeed to have secured a place for my father at such a home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.766)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.766) out of 10 for Woodley Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.916 for Woodley Grange is calculated as follows: ( (156 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.916
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodley Grange is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
