My father was in Huntington House for about 3 months and I cannot speak too highly of the care he received. I do not want to single out any staff as all were caring, professional, kind and lovely. There were so many activities for him and the home had special people just to do quizzes or play dominoes
or take the residents out in the sun to chat. My father needed help with his food and moving about and all the staff were amazing. Eventually he was on the way out and the way the staff helped him and me was so compassionate and genuinely heart warming. This care home is absolutely top notch. I am not surprised it has received awards as it is exceptional. The management is superb and the whole place is simply lovely.

We visited a number of homes before choosing Langham Court and what a wise decision. My husband has settled here really well. One of our reasons for this decision was the extensive grounds and we make full use of these when we visit. On occasions my husband is interested in the horses and goats but
on other days shows no interest but it is good to have them there.
Within limits he is allowed to do as he pleases, get up when he wants to and wander around the home if he wishes. There are a wide range of items for him to interact with and a number of activities which he can attend, musical events being his favourite. The celebration of VE Day was a great event and showed that great consideration had been used when planning the event.
All staff treat their residents with respect and dignity. There are always carers wherever residents congregate and I know that my husband is safe at all times.
Most importantly he is happy living at Langham Court.

From the very 1st visit yo view it felt homely and warming.
From the very first day my mum moved in she felt at home and has blossomed in health and mental health.
The staff are so friendly, happy and so bubbly and make mum smile all the time.
I feel confident in the team and they communicate well
with us as a family. You only have to ask and it is never to much.
Could not find a better home for my mum. She wanted a one move from her independence after her stroke and I know it has been the best move for her.
Every time I visit she tells me what a lovely place it is and feels like this is her new home.
Great team. Lovely home awesome

I moved a friend with early onset Alzheimer's to Langham court after previous care homes had been unable to meet her increasingly complex needs. They have been brilliant with her and I am confident that she has the best quality of life possible given her diagnosis. Feedback from friends who have visited
has been that the facilities and staff are excellent, the atmosphere warm and friendly and that my friend is really happy and settled.

Huntington House is an exceptional care home that has become a second home for our mother. The staff's dedication, compassion and professionalism are unparalleled. When our mother moved in at 90, we thought she had little time left. Remarkably, she thrived, last weekend celebrating her 98th birthday
surrounded by family in a beautifully decorated cottage on the grounds. The staff's attention to detail, from understanding her needs to arranging special moments like her birthday, is extraordinary. Despite dementia, she's settled and happy - a transformation we never imagined. The peaceful grounds and home-like atmosphere contribute to her longevity and quality of life. The staff's patience with our family's concerns has been invaluable. Huntington House has given us priceless extra years with our mother, turning an impossible situation into something beautiful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire team for your care and love.

I cannot fault anything at Huntingdon House Nursing Home, they cared for my father during the last seven weeks of his life. I cannot recommend them enough, the care given, support by staff to him and our family was amazing. From the moment we visited to view the care home to the day he died, we could
not have been treated any better.

From the moment I stepped through the doors of Langham looking for respite care, everyone I met was incredibly helpful, kind and attentive to my Father's needs, and indeed to mine. He may not have been the most sociable of residents, but the staff were always cheerful and encouraging to him. The office
staff, and in particular the Manager, were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were good communicators with me which meant a lot, particularly on days when I couldn't visit. The fact that there are no "extras" was a big plus: something that has not been my experience in other care facilities with a different relative. They took him to a hospital appointment, where I couldn't, which was a godsend. The only reason I haven't given a five star rating was because the WC in my Father's room was leaking. There was a of visit from maintenance initially but nothing came from that, and it bothered my Father that the floor was always wet and no-one did anything about it.

Reply from Charlie Hoare, Managing Director at Langham Court

Thanks so much for your review, and it's lovely to hear you received such a warm welcome and good communication. I hope your father's doing well. Please pass on my sincere apologies about the leak not being attended to urgently in the WC, as that's something we would normally make every effort to sort asap.

I wish to comment on the excellence of care taken by all at the home for my mother, who has been a resident at Huntington for more than five years. I initially had reservations about the quality of care it would be possible for her to receive once it became necessary for her to move from her own home,
but Huntington have consistently exceeded any hopes I could have formulated. The staff have been friendly, welcoming and endlessly supportive of our mother throughout that time, showing endless patience with her. In particular, I am exceedingly grateful for the care and persistence taken in recently resolving a difficult problem involving the local authority. The owner of the care home could not have done more, and I will be forever grateful to the management for their kindness, their generosity, and their obvious concern above all for the welfare of our mother. As others have noted, Huntington House truly is an exceptionally well run care home.

My mother moved into Huntington House in 2019 after the death of my father when she found she was unable to cope with daily life any more. Having thought her days were nearly over, within just a few weeks there was a noticeable change in her as she became stronger in both body and mind, which I put
down to the exceptional care she received and continues to. She trusts the long-term staff who work there as do I. The homely environment is warm and comfortable, she enjoys her meals (where her dietary intolerances are well catered for) in the lovely dining room, her complex medical needs are looked after by competent, experienced nurses and the staff are genuinely kind and caring. It is a huge comfort to know that she is safe, happy and so well looked after and I really could not ask for anything more. I would add that the way Huntington responded to the pandemic was remarkable and although I missed my mother terribly during this time, I felt that she was in the best place possible place.

My husband has been a resident at Langham Court since May 2024. I believe that he could not be in a better place to be cared for. My husband and I are made to feel part of a loving family and we are both given exceptional care and support. All the staff from the manager through to the cleaners are
without exception lovely caring people. They all greet me by name and always have time to talk. My husband's Alzheimer's can make his behaviour challenging at times but I am reassured to know that he is helped in a very sympathetic and caring manner. There is a lovely atmosphere at the Home and it is never a chore to visit. I have never seen a miserable face or heard a complaint from any of the staff, on the contrary, there is always a smile, a friendly face and even a hug if I need it . No-one wants to be in these circumstances, but we are, and we are so fortunate to have such a good care home and lovely team of people in our village.

Both my parents have lived at Langham Court since December 2023. Over the last 12 months, we have been blown away by the skill, expertise and caring nature of the team. Their expert nursing care helped Dad through his complex physical care needs whilst the specialist dementia care has supported Mum.
Through the skill of the team, our parents stayed together through their 60-year marriage only separating when Dad passed away this December. The team at Langham (including all staff: manager, receptionists, cleaning, kitchen, and care/nursing teams wrapped themselves around us all as a family. Mum said goodbye to Dad and was skillfully supported during Dad's last days of life. Dad had the most peaceful passing thanks to the nursing team's skill and incredible care support. We feel very lucky that we found Langham and that Mum is happily living there, settled and looked after with expertise and love.

My brother arrived here for his end of life care after several weeks in a hospice. The hospice was excellent but this was a much more suitable and homely place for the time he had left. The nursing care he needed was more than many nursing homes can provide, but the Huntington House team took it all
in their stride. His care was skillful and tender - more like 'a home with nursing' than a conventional nursing home.

He had a lovely large room with an outlook over glorious woodland in a quiet area of the building. Huntington is a converted older house, but the conversion has been done with modern care standards in mind - proper bathrooms, room for the gradually increasing equipment needs, wide doors and corridors etc. The staff do not wear uniforms or name badges, which encourages getting to know their names and a family feel. I certainly felt they knew me (and, more importantly, my brother) quickly. The team responded rapidly to his changing needs, which was very reassuring.

My wife was diagnosed with a rare dementia at the age of 55.
Many care homes do not cater for this demographic let alone the rare dementia diagnosis.
Respite was arranged and I was delighted with the process and thrilled to hear that the staff wanted to learn about her as a person. Truly person-centred
and not just another resident in a care home setting.
In time, as the disease has progressed, full-time residential nursing care has been required and there is no other place that I would want my wife to be. It's not just me noticing this but our children and my wife's siblings too.
The family that owns Langham Court have a unique person-centred approach and staff from the most junior, right up to MD subscribe to the "Butterfly" care model and it shows, having been awarded "Best Dementia Care Home" by The National Dementia Care Awards in September 2024.
If you want a compassionate, understanding care home for your loved one at a time of great stress you will find it in Langham Court.

It is heartbreaking seeing the effects of dementia take hold of a loved one and not easy having to entrust them to someone else; to provide the professional care that is needed. We are very fortunate indeed that our Father is able to be at Langham Court, where the staff have always shown him the respect
and love that he so deserves and which we would want him to always have.
We are truly humbled by the care staff's dedication and professionalism; for which we will forever be thankful. Langham Court is a wonderful place but it is the carers that make the difference; the staff are all special people doing a difficult but an incredibly important job.
Keep up the amazing work that you do and thank you on behalf of our family; it is so very much appreciated.
