My mum has been in the wonderful care of Fairdene for the last 12 months
Throughout this time I cannot fault the care she has received , The fantastic staff are well led by a brilliant management team and supported by Dementia care nurse Jan
My mum is settled and happy , she has been supported
through a difficult time such as the loss of her husband of 70 years and thanks to the caring family of Fairdene can still smile , laugh and make new memories.
Carers are open and transparent and happy to discuss any aspects of care, always informed and current with care plans , management are always
available ,
Visiting family are always made welcome
We have the comfort of knowing that mum will always be respected and very well cared for if it comes to a time she cannot maybe converse or make decisions for herself
I was told by a care home matron that they should be the home staff should train in as they were outstanding. We are so grateful to have found Fairdene Lodge

My husband has been here since Autumn 2022 and has had excellent, consistently professional care. There are very few staff changes (thanks to good management) which makes for a lovely team/home atmosphere. I have visited him on many occasions of course and always the feeling in the home is the same
- kindness and great care towards us and to my husband. Its the attention to detail that they do so well. He always liked to look very smart and miraculously the staff have been able to maintain this for him. Each person counts and is treated with love and respect. There is a resident chef and food is very good. There are always new activities and a monthly timetable with films with popcorn, lots of music and singing (his favourite) . Small animals are often brought in and recently they have had a group of mums who bring in their babies. This is in addition to all the outings down to the seafront and because local cafes are dementia friendly they are easy to visit which is a real bonus.

Reluctantly we had to find a Care Home for my mum 15 months ago, as we were no longer able to provide the care she needed at home. Finding Fairdene Lodge helped to ease the guilt we felt making this decision for her.
From day one all the staff have been so kind, patient and caring. I love how all
the staff, including the kitchen staff and maintenance guys know all the residents by name and will acknowledge the residents with a smile and quick chat.
Mum has always loved being around people and was becoming withdrawn at home, now she loves to take part in the activities they run each day. The activities are varied, and all residents are encouraged and supported to take part. Having the opportunity to go out in the community, whether it be a trip with a cycling provider along the seafront, or a stroll with other residents is a bonus, as is having the garden should mum want to get some fresh air.
Mum is so happy there and I cant thank enough all the staff for all they do for mum.

My mum has been in your care for about 18 months now and every time I visit I'm greeted with such loving and caring staff. I can see my mum is very well looked after and is very comfortable with you. There is always activities going on with the staff encouraging residents to join in and engaging with
them. Usually when I'm with mum the tea trolley comes round with a range of delicious foods and hot drinks on offer which I'm generously offered and get to share with mum while I'm with her. This makes my visits with her so pleasurable. I cannot tell you how grateful I am knowing my mum is with you.

My mother is a resident at Fairdene Lodge in Hove and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she receives. The staff are absolutely amazing and genuinely caring. They treat every resident with real dignity and respect, which gives our family great peace of mind.
The home itself is always very clean
and well looked after, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. The food is also fantastic, and it's clear that a lot of effort goes into making sure residents are well cared for in every way.
It's reassuring to know my mother is in such a kind and supportive place. A big thank you to all the staff for the wonderful work they do every day. Highly recommended.
Reply from Lily Welch, Operations manager at Fairdene LodgeThank you so much for your kind review. It really means a lot to us to know your mother is happy and well cared for at Fairdene. We will be sure to share your lovely feedback with the team.

My mother first arrived at Fairdene Lodge in February 2025, after a short spell in hospital..
The change in my mother in the last year is amazing to say the least....
Mum seems very happy in her new place and has found herself with new friends and activities to keep her occupied during the day...
Mum
is well looked after at Fairdene Lodge, and well catered for too.
I would say she has even put on weight.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Fairdene. Mum has been so much happier than she was when cared for at home with 24/7 live in carers. She has benefited so much from spending time and developing relationships with the other residents, and from all the activities and from the constant care of the staff.
She never really trusted her carers when cared for at home, and resisted their help with personal care. She also resisted all movement. At Fairdene the routine and systems have helped her to totally trust the carers and she is therefore much better looked after and she's also moving around like she hasn't done for many years. She's even rediscovered her teenage love of dancing! So thank you to all the staff and other residents for making Mum's life so much richer and more purposeful.
Reply from Lily Welch, Operations Manager at Fairdene LodgeThank you so much for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that your mum is happier and enjoying life at Fairdene, especially rediscovering her love of dancing. It's wonderful to see her building friendships and taking part in the activities.

I can't express how welcoming Grosvenor Lodge is. My husband has been here 2 years and the staff are kind, caring, compassionate. They meet every resident's individual needs and nothings too much trouble. The rooms are nice and well furnished and clean. There are activities most days for everyone to
join in. There's a lovely conservatory. A TV room and a quiet room. So choice for all. It's most definitely one of the better ones. The staff have all worked here a long while. They really are the loveliest and most professional of people to care for your loved ones.

I looked at a lot of homes before I settled on Grosvenor Lodge and I haven't been disappointed. The place is full of life - everyone is so friendly and it feels homely and not institutional at all. The staff are kind, caring and attentive, the activities are brilliant and the food is home-cooked and
lovely. Whilst there is a very welcoming and informal approach it is supported by high professional standards and excellent communication between staff - it doesn't matter who answers the door, they know where my mum is and how she's doing. If I mention in passing that I'm worried about her health, by the time I've got to the office to make it official, they've already arranged a doctor's appointment. They have gone above and beyond to settle my mum in, even painting one of her walls bright pink. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been a tough old time and I feel personally supported. I can't thank the team at Grosvenor Lodge enough.

I chose this home for my mum as I was really impressed wth the aesthetics and bright appearance of the home. Since being there (1 year) I have been delighted with the care and attention of the staff who look after her. They are always cheerful and welcoming and it seems to be a lovely environment for
the residents with lots of activities and celebrations well planned ie Christmas, Mother's Day & Valentines.

It is a very warm and caring atmosphere with lots of activities on offer, consistent staff you get to know and trust. The food is home cooked and varied
and healthy. Couldn't have asked for a better place. They all went above and beyond. No time spared to feel welcome and listened to. Thank you.

Very reluctantly had to have my wife taken into a Care Home 5 months ago. The care my wife has received at Fairdene Lodge could not have been better which has helped to relieve some of the trauma for both of us. The staff are extremely caring and treat the residents and visitors as friends with plenty
of cups of tea and lovely food. The range of activities is really good and my wife particularly likes and enjoy the music. I am convinced that despite the heartache, my wife could not be in a better place and I am extremely grateful for what is done for her and all the other residents.

It was a very difficult decision for our family to place my mother into a care home but unfortunately, like many people experiencing Alzheimer's became too difficult for us to give her the care she really needed. It turned into the best decision we made because we have total peace of mind that she is
safe and cared for by the home. It means that we can spend quality time with our mother now instead of the stressful situations we were dealing with. The home is really lovely, rooms are well kept, entertainment is really fun for the residents, staff and management are friendly and communicate well with us. Overall we are very happy with the care she receives under quite difficult circumstances due to the illness.

Every time I arrive, it is like the door being opened to this large family. Kindness from everyone who works there, to each other, to the residents and to me every time I am there, which to be fair is quite often! Always smiles and calmness from every single member of staff, which I feel gives me such
a feeling of calmness too. This has been consistent since the day I first called and a particular staff member answered and guided us as a family through a stressful transition from home to Fairedeane.

Very caring hard-working staff. My mother is so well looked after. The surroundings and food is superb. Seven members of staff in particular, just to name a few, always make my visits informative and welcoming. All the staff have a smile and are so caring. My mother has been living at Fairdene for nearly
a year and is so relaxed and looked after. Well done to every member of staff (I know it's a tough job).
Fairdene also run a lot of events for the residents - 1960 bands, special adapted bicycle rides, etc - great to see.

We have always found all of the staff welcoming, efficient and caring - proficient in all they do. We applaud the management. We are impressed by the activities provided and for the excursions our resident with you receives. We are extremely grateful for the expertise of the dementia nursing and staffing.
Although on occasions it is inevitably noisy all the residents are treated with respect and their dignity upheld - each is quite obviously valued as a person in their own right. The decoration of the rooms and stairways is good and we were especially impressed by the Christmas decorations out in the beautiful gardens, front and back. It is a warm and inviting home for residents and we have the impression that the staff regard it as such too. Thank you.

My mum has been in the home for a year and she is extremely happy. She is well looked after and treated with respect and dignity. I visit her each week and I am always made to feel welcome. The staff are incredibly patient, which is important especially when working with people with dementia. I cannot
praise the home’s care enough, along with the range of stimulating activities they provide, including entertainers, sports activities, visits and entertainment from local schools and colleges, film shows and trips out to the seafront and cafes. The regular trips with a local charity offering piloted cycle rides are brilliant too. The involvement of family in various events and activities, as well as via social media is also a huge positive.

This care home has been looking after my relative for nearly 2 years. The home is managed daily by knowledgeable and supportive people who understand dementia and the carers always have a smile when I come to visit. The home is clean and has had a makeover. The garden is a bonus and the residents enjoy
the outside space and the staff host barbecues in the spring/summer. There are activities every month, pedal cycle for trips on the seafront, outings to seafront cafes and in the home there are singers, city mission church, skittles, films and pet pals which my relative loves. The females have their nails painted and all residents benefit from the foot spas and massages with hairdressing too. Recently my relative didn’t want the provided dinner and requested a salad and the chef made a wonderful ham and cheese salad instead. If my relative was home alone life would be isolating as Fairdene provides entertainment, socialisation, 3 meals a day and a safe environment.
