My mum has been in Colliers Croft for just 12 months now. It's a very difficult decision to put a loved one into residential care and can be equally as difficult to live with decision afterwards. You are always questioning yourself about if you have made the right choice. I have to say my mum being in Colliers Croft makes this worry so much easier. The day staff who look after her are amazing. I went on holiday last week for the first time without my mum for years. I thought it would be really awful to leave her but I knew she would be well cared for whilst I was away. It's so reassuring to know that the staff are so good. Thank you so much to Karen and all the team.

Since we have been visiting our friend she seems to have settled in. She always looks comfortable and happy enough.The staff are always on hand and they are so helpful and friendly even to myself and my husband while we are visiting.

It is an incredibly difficult decision to make to move your loved one into Residential care and an even more difficult decision on where that will be. From the moment myself and my brother walked into Colliers Croft we knew that it was the place for mum. We felt that it had a homely feel, the lounges looked like a lounge with different seating areas. With every resident having their own bathroom we felt happy that mums privacy and dignity would be maintained. The day mum moved in, the whole team were aware of her arrival and ensured she had a very warm welcome and settled in comfortably. We did have some challenges with mums medication which wasn't the fault of Colliers but they resolved it as soon as possible. All of the staff are approachable and friendly, the food is very good and mum has enjoyed the activities she has participated in. As a family we feel confident that mum is safe, well cared for and comfortable. It has taken a huge weight off our shoulders.

For the five years of my mother's residence, the permanent staff who gave hands-on care were generally good, displaying competence and kindness. I am grateful to them. At Director level, though, I found deficiencies, the most serious of which were remoteness and unprofessionalism. I rate the performance of the Directors as being unsatisfactory.

My mum has been in the care of Colliers Croft for several years now, and the most important factor for us is that she genuinely enjoys living there. She would certainly let us know if she didn't.

The home itself is modern, clean, and very well equipped. The food is excellent, with a wide variety on offer - on some occasions we even find our own mouths watering at the culinary delights being served.

As mentioned, her happiness is our top priority, closely followed by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. This is hugely important, as the days can be long, and knowing that staff personalities and service are consistently warm and caring reassures us enormously that she is safe, comfortable, and happy.

I was very happy that Joan got a place in Damfield Gardens. I am very pleased with all the staff. They are all very helpful and understanding. The two ladies in reception are also very helpful and understanding. Thank you all very much.

I am extremely happy with Damfield care home. The staff treat their residents with dignity and compassion - the way they would treat one of their own relatives. I know that my loved one is safe and is looked after without compromise.

My Mum has been a resident at Damfield Gardens for almost 2 years. In that time I have observed how very much cared for she is, I know each and every staff member have a rapport with Mum and I know her demeanour with each staff member is one of happiness and love, she is genuinely loved and cared for and all of my family members comment on how all the staff are with mum and the other residents. Mum is always clean and dressed tidy and her room impecably clean, the whole building is spotless and you always see a cleaning member or maintenance member about making sure things are all dealt with the entertainment is second to none, always something fun and engaging and have so many events organised whether it be out on a day trip or having singers or entertainers in to get the residents participating in the fun. This place is an extension of my family and they have been amazing support for all of us, it's always a joy to enter the building and be welcomed by the most amazing staff.

I feel very happy in making this choice for my darling husband.

My mum has been in Colliers Croft for just over 2 years now and always been happy with her care! The last couple of months they have excelled! My mum had terrible pressure sores. The staff and outside staff (nurses and practitioners) helped my mum with great care and she has now recovered amazingly. Thanks to all concerned.

The care staff and management are very professional and so attentive to the residents.

Mum has been a resident at Damfield Gardens for a year now. We chose it because it is close to many of the places that have been special to her during her life as well as being a bright purpose built care home. The staff are very caring and I feel that mum is well looked after. The activities team really take care to think about what the residents will enjoy and get a lot out of. I was lucky enough to travel first class to Zanzibar yesterday with mum - every detail was thoughtful - down to the captains message and the air hostess's hats! It was nice to have fun with mum and other residents. I am grateful to have that memory.

Home has a nice friendly atmopshere and residents and visitors are treated with respect by staff.

I can't thank the staff team enough for everything they do.

Considering this care home charges £4,600 a month the cleanliness and condition of my Fathers room and bed sheets were a disgrace. No bin in the room, fridge never turned on...ever... his clothes went missing, often I found him in other people's clothes and underwear and I have lost count the amount of times he had no socks on! We were told by the Manager that if his dementia got worse he would always have a home there and they would never move him, absolute lies. Our Father fell in their care, thus having to have a partial hip replacement and ended up in Hospital. We were then informed by email by the manager to collect his things and find him another home as they don't have the facilities to look after him since his fall. As a family we have been let down by Colliers Croft, not by the staff but by the management system. Our Father isn't aware he will be moving to a new home, we are praying that this will not be too upsetting for him.

Colliers Croft at Haydock is a fantastic care home for many, many reasons. All of the staff must be praised: the carers; the managers; the cleaners and laundry staff; the reception; the kitchen staff; and maintenance man. All of the carers are very friendly and are there for my dad in so many ways. They have gone out of their way to settle him in and understand his needs. His meals are specially prepared for his swallowing needs and the food looks delicious. Colliers is always clean, and being kept clean constantly I might add. There are many activities for the residents. The recent gala day was a great success for residents and their families thanks to the hard work of the staff. There is a lovely family feel at Colliers, so that from the minute you enter, to leaving, you feel very welcome - like it's your own home. My dad is very happy there as he knows he has 24 care and support. Colliers Croft gives high quality care to its residents in luxury surroundings. Thank you all so much!!

Given our experience, we cannot recommend this care home to anyone's loved ones.
