Dad received quality care from the staff on Forshaw unit. He was treated with dignity and respect in very difficult circumstances. The family are very greatful for everything the staff did for dad. Staff are polite and courteous and information was always related to us.

My mother has resided in St George's Care Centre for over 5 years. Overall we are very pleased with the care she receives. My main cause for where improvements can be made is having some outside time especially on sunny warm days. Unfortunately this almost never happens on Manor Unit. I believe my mother
has only been outside her unit once, possibly twice in the last 3 years and believe this is probably the same for all patients on the unit.

Reply from Ian Forshaw, Ops Manager at St George's Care Centre

Thanks for your reply, to help us could you please pop in and see the home manager. I am glad you feel that the care is fine, I understand that there are daily activities on Manor, examples are music and art therapy', pamper sessions, dog therapy. It would be useful for you to provide comments as I think it's likely that you have lot what about the daily activities I look forward to meeting you

Unbeknown to us my soon to be daughter in law approached St Mary's to ask if it was possible to include my husband in her upcoming wedding to my son. As my husband has complex needs he would be unable to leave their care. St Mary's wholeheartedly agreed and they arranged together a blessing which we
were made aware of nearer the time. I was so surprised on the day to enter the garden to be met by very happy smiling staff with a decorated gazebo and soft music playing, my husband looking very smart dressed for the occasion. On arrival of the bride and groom a ring blessing took place which fully included my husband followed by a toast to the happy couple with platters of food to enjoy. I want to thank St Mary's from the bottom of my heart to have gone out of their way to make this happen, so my husband and I could celebrate together part of this very special day, the marriage of our son to his thoughtful kind hearted bride. Once again thank you I shall never forget all your kindness.

It is hard watching a close relative or friend decline in this situation but all the staff at St Mary's are always kind and attentive.
Of course there are never enough facilities, activities, potential remedies, comforts, and simply time for each resident.
Our brother has been cared for in the best
possible way.

Rose unit. Since mum has been here ( 2 years now) the care has been nothing but exemplary. The elite care here is miles apart from others. My relative says she always feels safe and cared for. I can assure anyone considering here would be absolutely overwhelmed by the genuine compassion and care given.
There is lots to do, team always work hard for the residents and go above and beyond from nurses, carers to cleaners. Beautiful well maintained home also, 5 star.

My brother was placed at St Mary's 1.5 years ago, he has a severe brain injury at the age of 44. I can't compliment the team at St Mary's enough, they are so dedicated to their residents and go above and beyond for them. They are also super supportive to the families who are trying to navigate a difficult
situation to support their loves ones. The manager of Stephenson ward is so fantastic, sharing a wealth of knowledge and going the extra mile for my brother everyday.

My sister went into St Mary's at the end of December on the Fern unit. She has settled extremely well. All the carers go above and beyond for all their residents in their care. I feel so lucky my sister got a place here. Always a friendly welcome each visit. The home is clean and well-maintained. The
staff are all approachable and always keep me informed of how my sister is doing.

My expereince as the brother and deputy for my sister, who is a resident at St Mary's, has been excellent. I find the staff very friendly and efficient, yet informal. She settled in very quickly, which put me at ease. Since then, for the past two years, she has enjoyed St Mary's and has become "part

My mum has just become a resident at St Mary's after 14 weeks in hospital. She is 90 with dementia so I was extremely anxious for her to go into nursing care. The staff at St Mary's have gone above and beyond to alleviate my worries as the patience, care and kindness they have shown to Mum are second
to none. Mum is in the Forshaw Unit, it is spotlessly clean and always has a lovely atmosphere when I visit. I would recommend it to anyone if they are looking for the most caring place for their loved ones.

My mum went into St Mary's Care Centre on the 26th of February and I can only say the care she has received on the Forshaw unit has been 100%. The nurses and the carers have looked after my mum with compassion and dignity which has made me so happy, knowing she is in a safe environment, nothing has
been a problem for them even when my mum became more seriously ill. When visiting Mum I've seen the compassion the carers have towards all the residents on the unit.
It was a pleasure to see my mum happy and settled, and knowing she was well looked after and safe helped me relax.
Also, I was kept up to date with her progress and development within the activities.
I never thought my mum would settle in a care centre as she wasn't happy to be away from her home, but she was happy.
So a massive thank you to all the staff at St Mary's Care Centre.

I have worked in health care for 33 years.
Started in elderly care in private nursing homes as an HCA in the 1990s.
Currently working in the N.H.S. for 25 years, in different roles but understand/know the difference between a good/OK care home.
St Mary's doesn't smell when you arrive, (other than
home-cooked food), safeguarding is excellent, rooms are spotlessly clean and staff know their residents.
