My stepmum has been a Marina since Nov 2023, the homes has been through lots of changes and I have been very sad to see some of the staff leave who were very connected with her, I can see now things are on the up again and I have been impressed with some of the new staff. She is cared for well and
the staff have her best interests at heart . Since the new activity lead has started there is more entertainment in the home but I would like to see more activities outside the home which happened a lot in the past and she got so much out of the outings.
We held her 70th birthday party at Marina and it was a wonderful day that all the staff and residents made so very special for her and all her family to make such special memories, due to dementia does the memory will fade for her but she enjoyed the moment and that what's important for us now.
Special thankyou to 3 specific members of staff.

During her three years of living at Marina Care Home, my sister's dementia has been progressing to the extent that she is now unable to leave her bed. In this situation she requires an extra level of nursing. The carers check on her regularly and are always patient and cheerful. Some, for whom English
is not their first language, find other ways of interacting with her to make her smile when her spirits are low. Household staff too, who are not directly involved with her care, will look in on her and have a friendly word. Overall, there is a positive and happy atmosphere in the house.
I recommend Marina Care Home for the quality and commitment of all the staff.

Mum was a resident of Daffodil Lodge from January 2023, until March 2024, and during that time she was cared for with respect and dignity from all of the fantastic staff. She was originally there for a 6-week assessment, which became permanent, and as her daughter I really could not have chosen a better
home for Mum.
She enjoyed all the activities Daffodil put on, and loved having her hair and nails done - we had Mum's 90th birthday last year, and all the staff went above and beyond to give her a day to remember - something Mum's family will always remember. For anyone looking for respite, short/long term care for their loved ones, I would have no hesitation in recommending Daffodil Lodge, they gave Mum a home-from-home environment, her every need was taken care of, they were so considerate of her family also.

I have found some staff very good however far too many agency staff: different companies. Residents with dementia need regular faces and more input from staff without having to be told to carry out activities. Organised activities are very good but staff should be doing more throughout the day.

Layout of lounges small and not always a member of staff in the lounges at anyone time which is a falls risk for patients with dementia.

Mum has been a resident since 2020. Her mental well-being has greatly improved since being at Daffodil Lodge Care Home. The staff are wonderful, the activities are amazing and I cannot praise enough the care that Mum has received. Due to health and personal reasons, I cannot visit Mum but I know she
is well cared for, loved and happy at Daffodil Lodge. I am kept up to date with her care at all times and it is so reassuring.

I am very pleased with the experience and service provided to my mum. She has been a resident since the opening of the home and really is happy here. The staff are great with her and take care of her. I would suggest her room is in need of decorating, this hasn't been touched in her time living there,
with the renovation of the top floor it would be appreciated if current residents also got use of the makeover.

Due to a poor experience with a previous home, we moved Mum to Daffodil Lodge Care Home on a recommendation. We have been absolutely delighted with the wonderful, homely atmosphere within the home. All the staff treat Mum with the utmost respect, I have also witnessed this with the other residents too.
Mum is cared for very, very well. I visit the home very regularly and I am always welcomed in, regardless of time. Mum is always happy to chat with the staff and smiles when she chats with them. Highly recommended!

My husband has been in Daffodil Lodge for five months. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked for him but that is not a reflection on the care he has received. The home is kept spotlessly clean, the laundry service is excellent. My husband had a really nice room. The staff are very caring and have been very
supportive. The food is good. Occasionally personal hygiene has been a problem but overall Daffodil Lodge is like a big family and would use it again.

The staff at Daffodil Lodge are wonderful, very professional and kind, caring and makes me feel happy that I know her every need is cared for as though she was at home with me. My husband has been at Marina Care Home, initially for two weeks respite and now is there three days a week using the holiday experience. This is such a wonderful idea as it gives residents and their families the opportunity for a smooth transition into full-time residence with no limit on the time
that may take. My husband has settled really well. There is a real family feeling in the home, the staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to make sure every need is met. I cannot thank the Events Ambassador and all the team enough, it has given me a much-needed break and peace of mind knowing my hubby is happy and cared for.

My Mum has been a resident at Marina Care Home for a number of months. She has settled in very well thanks in no small part to the efforts of the staff. They have always been very caring, professional and patient. Marina Care Home is always buzzing with activities with the residents at the heart of
whatever is happening, my Mum loves taking part in all the activities and it has been of enormous benefit to her wellbeing. I have regular contact with the Staff all of whom treat me with kindness and respect. I also have regular daily telephone contact with my Mum, this ensures I am kept abreast of all and any changes to my Mums wellness. Since her move to Marina my Mums mental health, well-being and her physical appearance have improved immeasurably for which I am very grateful to the Staff at Marina Care Home. In short, I would have no reservations about recommending its services to others. Often friends request if they can go, as my Mum is "having such a ball" they're jealous

My brother resided at Daffodil Lodge for twelve months until his death in January 2022.
Due to Covid restrictions, I was not able to visit him inside the home until he was on end of life. However, there were times when I could take him out and he enjoyed this and always told me how good the food was.
The staff were very helpful and kept me informed of his condition as he had Alzheimer's.

The staff are very caring and attentive. They looked after my elderly mother until the end and the staff could not have done more - they also helped to arrange birthday parties and included the residents in activities over Christmas and the New Year. Such happy memories.
