The staff are absolutely lovely and my brother has built up a rapport with them
The food is plentiful and looks delicious and my brother enjoys it all haha
There are lots of activities and trips out and a lovely corridor downstairs with cinema room shop, bar and beautiful gardens

Was at a relatives meeting chaired by the Care Home Manager and she fully informed us of what has been happening recently and what the . future plans they have. The recent upgrades have made the Care Home Improvements to a very high and comfortable standard. I find the staff very approachable and
helpful and they take great care of the Residents. All food is home cooked on the premises giving a variety of choice each day. My brother in law has settled in well and I am very pleased with the care he receives. Many thanks keep up the great work.

My aunt had a lot of difficulties in accepting she needed help. She was so understand afraid and angry about losing her independence. St Columbus have been amazing at helping support both her and the family in trying to deal with how difficult the whole process has been. My aunt has now settled down
and is seeming happier. The home is immaculately clean and the staff are all very gentle and accommodating of my concerns. Of particular note are three ladies who have had a good understanding of my aunt and how best to help her.

All staff have been helpful and kind to my mum. She is well cared for. The staff have a happy disposition and are always receptive to us when we visit. My mum is interacting with the staff and other residents. She enjoys seeing what is going on. The home provides a safe environment with caring staff
who enjoy what they do. The home provides entertainment and trips which are more than we could have provided at home.
Very happy with her placement here.
Thank you all.

Mum has been a resident in St Columbas since January this year. She went into care as an emergency admission. The level of care she has received has been very good and she is now more ambulant than she was on admission. She settled very well and is very content with her accommodation and the staff.
She calls her room her "wee flat" and is full of praise for the staff. There are activities that she can attend but given her age of 96 sometimes she prefers to be in her room. That doesn't stop the staff popping in for a chat with her or a wee sing song. Every month there is entertainment which mum does go to as she loves to sing. She has a better social life than I do for which I am very grateful. She is happy and so are we as a family as the staff treat her like family.
All the staff work as a team and are constant faces for mum. Nothing is too much bother.
I knew things were going to go well when the day after mums admission I was greeted by name by all the staff. So welcoming. X x

Mum has only been with St Columba's for 5 months. I was apprehensive about Mum moving into care and decisions were put off for a long period. The transfer to residential care has been a remarkable success both for Mum and the family. Mum has been better the past few months since moving in than for years
before and she enjoys it and calls it her home/her little flat. She has settled in really well and is well cared for by the remarkably attentive staff. It has been a great relief to the rest of the family to see her so settled and well cared for. It is a pleasure to visit Mum in her current environment and to see how much she enjoys and appreciates the care provided.

My brother is being cared for by a truly wonderful team of care workers who have all been individually trained to deal with my brothers needs. My brother is not the easiest of patients but the staff deal with him professionally and compassionately. Because of this I have peace of mind that my brother
is getting the care and support he needs on a daily basis to make his life worth living. I visited numerous homes while searching for the most suitable home in the area and can safely say 100% that I picked the right one and was over the moon when they accepted my brother into there care.

I cannot thank this care home enough for the care and treatment they provided my gran. They went above and beyond for her and really engaged her within the home. Not only did they treat her with the utmost respect but they welcomed my family with open arms. Nothing was too big of an ask and they meet
all her needs with no hesitation. Harestane is a beautiful care home with loving staff and is such a credit to priority care. The manager is outstanding and it really does show within her work!

We are pleased with Mum's overall care from day to day she is well looked after her needs are all met, as a wheelchair user she needs support with everything including feeding, dressing and washing she never complains and loves her food. They are kept busy with activities and also exercise if they
feel like it, there is also a cinema room and library. Mum is now 94 years old and likes a lie down in the afternoon the staff are used to her habits and are always on hand to assist. If there is a problem the manager is always available, all the staff are friendly and caring, and they all work as a team to make the lives of the residents worthwhile.

My mum has been a resident at St Columba's care home for over 6 years and resides on floor 1. All the staff are very attentive, very friendly towards her and know her little quirks. The family is kept up to date with all information by the staff which is very helpful to us.
It is a pity that the residents
are having to stay in their rooms at present due to the ongoing work replacing the kitchen and decorating the lounge but this is not the staff's fault and they are coping well with the situation.
Overall the staff are doing a very job looking after the residents and seeing to their needs.

My aunt has been in St Columba's for nearly 5 years. The care she receives there has been excellent. When my aunt first went into the home, she was unable to look after herself and had been transferred there from hospital. She only weighed 5 stone, was really confused and we were told she was double
incontinent. She is now healthy, happy, has gained 4 stone and is actually not incontinent. The staff are brilliant with my aunt. She is well looked after from every member of the St Columba's team. Putting a family member into a care home is the hardest decision for anyone, but I believe if we hadn't done this for our aunt, she wouldn't be here today.

Sadly Mum passed in April 2024 after spending 15 happy months in Harestane Nursing Home. The staff and management team looked after Mum in a respectful manner and she settled in with no problem. We were always welcomed at Harestane and the staff knew us all as family. We would be consulted and updated
if Mum required medical treatment and we would discuss what would be best for her. Mum would take part in activities such as exercise class, and arts and crafts and when the musicians came along. She enjoyed the sing-along and loved to dance. The support we as a family received when Mum was in her final days was second to none. We would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone looking to have their loved ones cared for. All staff and management are credited to Priority Care.

My mum has been in Harestane since November 2023. I cannot praise the staff enough. My mum has complex medical issues and can be very difficult sometimes. The staff are amazing. Real living angels. They take excellent care of her and all the residents. They are always very polite and courteous. The
service, food, attention to detail, activities and events are more like a five-star holiday than a care home.
It gives me a great sense of peace to know my mum is safe and very well cared for.
The management team do an amazing job in running the home. It is always spotless and as a visitor, I always feel very welcome at any time.
The communication with the staff is excellent. I am always kept up to date with everything regarding my mum's care.
In reality, words cannot truly express the gratitude and admiration that I have towards the staff. They are wonderful real-life angels.

I feel the hard of hearing could be considered more, subtitles on TV, menus on tables (which were there for a short time) church service or entertainment, placed in a position where they can hear what's going on, making sure if asked a question they are understanding it. I have witnessed in an art activity
that my relative was at a table facing the wall and the activity was going on behind them. I have rarely seen anyone sitting and having a conversation with my relative and don't know if they really know anything about them.
