My husband has been in Woodfield Nursing Home since March 2024. Excellent attention, his condition deteriorated and he spends all the time in his room. The staff are constantly checking on him. Sense of humour 100%.
He has settled in so well. Home from home.

My mother has been residing at Woodland Lodge Residential Home, Gumfreston, for over three years. I have found it to be a very homely and welcoming place. She is well looked after by all the staff and kept clean at all times. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone in the home, how excellently my mother
is cared for. If there are any concerns arising with her, I am contacted immediately. This for me is very reassuring as I can relax and carry on with my normal working day without any worries. For this I am really grateful to all at Woodland Lodge. The only criticism I can make is that the building and contents look tired. However, I understand that there are plans ahead to carry out improvements.

We had a unique and wonderful experience at Pencoed this past year. My mother was a resident there for exactly one year to the day. She passed on October 14. Her mother had been a resident there for almost 25 years before that. My family and I live in western Canada so frequent visits were impossible
but we did visit a couple of times.
When someone you love has to go to a care home trust becomes the greatest worry.
The manager and staff not only gained our trust but exceeded any expectations we had.
Everyone there was gifted with kindness, compassion, and professionalism, and every time we spoke on the phone my mother would always mention how much she loved the people there.
We can't thank you all enough for all you did this past year, it was our pleasure to meet you all.

My husband was originally in Pembroke Haven for respite care but eventually was admitted in as a resident in July 2021 where he stayed very happily until he passed away in January 2024 aged 96 years.
He settled into his new home very quickly and was very happy there with the very caring and fun-loving
staff who all spoiled him and made him feel at home, I was allowed to visit as often as I could as were the rest of our family and friends. Pembroke Haven is a beautiful building with views of the river and a conservatory and patio which my husband loved. I strongly recommend this residential home and if necessary would be happy to spend my days here.

My husband has been at Woodfield Nursing Home for the past 20 months. His behaviors became very challenging at home and I was advised to find a suitable nursing home. He was and is still walking so the wide corridors were ideal. The spacious grounds in grass and tarmac are perfect for me to walk him
when I visit. There are two large lounges and a dining area. But the best element of Woodfield is the staff. All of them create a relaxed, friendly, and supportive nursing home. I am very happy my husband has made it his home.

My mum has been at Pencoed since February 2023, and I can’t praise the manager and staff enough for all the support and kindness myself and my mum have received. The atmosphere is always friendly, and staff make an effort to make everyone feel at home and comfortable. No request is ever too much trouble,
and my mum has always been treated with dignity and respect. Every day I visit my mum, I am given a warm welcome, and it now feels like a second home to me. Thank you, everyone at Pencoed, for all your hard work, kindness and excellent care you provide. I would highly recommend Pencoed.

My mum has now been a resident of Pencoed for the last four months (may it continue for many years to come!).
After her initial unsettling long-distance move to be closer to family, we are amazed at how well she has settled in. We can not thank the staff enough for their kindness and dedication; they
all work so hard, and nothing is ever too much trouble.
We love their open-door policy; you are always made to feel so welcome when visiting.
Mum now has a new lease on life, and it is wonderful to see.
We would highly recommend Pencoed.
Thank you to the manager and your great team.

My mum was a resident at Pencoed for the last two and a half years of her life, during that time, despite the vast majority of it being under Covid, she was always happy and content being there. As Mum approached her final days, I had the opportunity to witness first-hand the care that the staff gave,
and the experience was humbling. The care was everything that our family could have hoped for.

The care my father received at Woodfield was excellent. My father entered Woodfield with a sore and within a week of excellent nursing at Woodfield, the sore was dramatically improved. Woodfield is smaller than some of the EMI homes in the area and I truly believe that helps provide better care. It’s
the quality of care everyone should be looking for and Woodfield certainly has that. Sadly my father passed away shortly after being in Woodfield as he had spent over 5 weeks in bed with a sore that started in a previous residential home and unfortunately died of pneumonia. In dad's final hours, the nurse on duty stayed with us as much as he could and another staff member kept us going with tea and a smile. They’ll never know how much we appreciated that and we will never forget it.

Spent time visiting care homes in the local area and the moment my husband and I walked into Woodland Lodge, we both and smiled and agreed this is the one. At no time have we had to change our opinion, we are simply so pleased with our choice. The staff, facilities and care is outstanding and can only
be equalled, not surpassed, in our opinion. We would and have no problem in promoting Woodland to anyone and do so now to close family and friends. A big thank you from us.

My friend has been at Pencoed for over a dozen years and is very happy there. Whenever I visit whoever opens the door knows exactly where she is sitting and directs me straight there. In the early years, we would go to sit in the conservatory to chat and she would contentedly tell me what was happening
in her world. Now, although she is not so chatty, she consistently looks comfortably and warmly dressed. I am regularly offered a cup of tea or coffee so I feel comfortable visiting. There are always a lot of staff moving around so I know she is constantly monitored, which, as she grows frailer, is reassuring. All the residents appear to be happy and those with mobility problems are offered a friendly arm. If I ever need to go to a residential home I would be very happy to go to Pencoed.

Mom has been in Pencoed for around 4-years now and I am more than happy with the care provided. Over that time, I have got to know the team well. They have always been kind and thoughtful, and I have every confidence in them. They take the time to get to know each resident, their history and their families.
I have always felt that I could visit at any time and would be made welcome. In fact, families are encouraged to actively participate in the life of the home and in a variety of activities. Despite the additional pressures and restrictions during this pandemic, they have been happy to take phone calls at any time and arrange for me to do a video call with Mom when they could. The team have continued to support Mom (and me!) through her various health issues and deteriorating dementia with respect, understanding and professionalism. Moving Mom into a care home was a very difficult decision, and I visited several places before that decision was made. I would recommend Pencoed.

I cannot recomment this care home highly enough. They cared for my late Mother for approximately 8 months until her death from terminal cancer. Their kindmess and consideration to residents is second to none. This extends from the manager and her deputy to the front line staff . My Mother's independence
and individuality was respected and nurtured at all times. Everything that could possibly be done to make her comfortable and feel that this was her home was done. In her final weeks which were difficult for everyone, she was treated with utmost kindness and thought. Equally as family, we were always treated warmly and with greta respect. I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of care provided by Woodland Lodge.
