My mother was in the Harry for a short period of time. The staff were exemplary, this included Corine, Harriet and all the nursing staff and non-nursing staff. The home was immaculate, the food was good, and my mother could not have asked for anything better. We, as a family, felt Mum was well looked
after and cared for.

Our mother has been at Park Lane for nearly three years. She is 97 years old and physically unable to look after herself. She was sad to leave her home and took a while to settle, but soon developed a good relationship with staff and residents. She has a large, beautifully decorated and furnished bedroom
with an ensuite. The home is kept in an immaculate condition with communal areas light and pleasant. The quality of food is very good indeed. The menus are varied and appetising. We cannot speak higly enough of the staff, they are kind and caring and all work really hard to ensure residents are safe, comfortable and content. Management is always responsive to any questions or requests we might make. It is very reassuring to us as a family to know that our mum is so well looked after.

Our mother has been in Park Lane for 6 years. We have received advice from the management team, which has helped our family so much.
Our mother is very happy with all aspects of her life and Park Lane, which in turn keeps our minds at rest.
Thank you, management and carers. 1st class.

We really didn't want to put ma-in-law into care but we are so pleased Park Lane had a vacancy for her. As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is lovely and calm. The home is spotlessly clean and immaculately decorated. The staff are so caring, skillful and friendly. We would recommend Park Lane to anyone.

Care for my dad seems specific to his needs. Carers communicate with him showing respect and give him the gentle encouragement he needs to join in with others in the lounge. Equally when he requests to stay in bed, if he is experiencing back pain, they allow that. Carers are friendly towards me every
time I visit and update me with any information relevant to my dad.

The care my mother receives at Park Lane Care Home has been excellent. My father (in the home with Mum) died October 2024 and Mum needed much support to grasp this (she has dementia). I can't praise the staff of Park Lane enough for the thoughtful way they cared for her and have continued to do so,
since Dad's death. Specifically they show patience and skill in answering her repeated questions, and in encouraging her to eat (tea in particular, which she resists) and in her self care (which she also resists now), and most importantly Mum clearly feels safe with all the staff - including management - who treat her with respect and dignity.

The Harry is more like a hotel than a care home. It has been modernised to a very high standard and decorated tastefully. The staff are friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The views from the home are amazing and it is lovely for residents to sit outside and enjoy the view. Mum has
Alzheimers and we made the decision to move her to The Harry in September 24. She is happy, well looked after, has made friends and is safe. Highly recommend.

On entering The Harry, it doesn't feel like a care home. It's welcoming like walking into a hotel.
The entrance is clean and bright with lovely flooring, not carpets.
The hallways are the same, clean and bright.
My mother stayed here for 5 months.
Her room was very clean but homely at the same time.
She
had a large door which went out onto a balcony, with sea views across Westward Ho! to Baggy Point.
In the spring we put potted flowers onto her balcony which she loved.
The staff are very dedicated, treating my mother with love and care as though she was one of their family.
Mum had very little appetite, and the girls tried daily to tempt her with various foods.
I can highly recommend the Harry.

I recently persuaded my 96-year-old father to go into a care home for respite whilst I went into hospital for an operation. Firstly the manager and assistant manager with whom I arranged this were both lovely, really helpful and understanding. They provided the best introduction to the daunting process
of having to arrange for an elderly relative to go into a care home; they were kind, professional and approachable. They set the tone and then every other member of staff was equally as caring and professional. I had no qualms about leaving my father in their care, it is an exceptionally good home, it feels very safe, and it has an atmosphere of calm at all times. My very anxious father always seemed calm and relaxed there. He even praised the staff, and the food, and praise from him is rare indeed! He put on weight whilst there, all of his visitors remarked upon how well he looked. I was so impressed and am so grateful to the whole team there for providing such very excellent care.

I'm very pleased with how the staff at The Harry look after my friend. Friendly, caring, nothing is too much trouble, it's like a five-star hotel. I know she is safe, and very well looked after in every way - with all her needs being met. Food, and cleanliness and meds all good.

Park Lane Care Home

Mum has been a resident in Park Lane for two years suffering from dementia. I am soon moving to North Yorkshire to be with my grandchildren. My brothers have both lived in the USA for years. Dad died 2 years ago. Mum will not have any family nearby however I will be returning frequently to see her.
Making
this decision has been very difficult but Mum is very happy and settled, it would be cruel to take her with me and find another home which would be comparable with Park Lane. The care Mum receives is outstanding. I am in the position to use this term as I am a very senior emergency nurse. The home is spotless, Mum has put on weight due to the standard of food. Her appearance is always dignified with outfits chosen with care. Her room is ensuite, again always clean. The staff always are genuinely caring. Mum gets aggressive, they diffuse her temper with kindness and tea. Their communication with both brothers and myself again nothing is too much trouble. Outstanding care home.

We could not have wished for better end of life care for dad. All the staff without exception were respectful, caring and professional. They made sure that dad’s final days were peaceful and calm. Their attitude of care permeated throughout all staff levels and they worked as a close team to provide
support to the family. We cannot thank them enough.

My mother has always said she would never want to spend time in an old peoples home. So after a carefully worded conversation, she agreed to stay for a week's respite in a 'lovely place where the staff are caring, great food is served and you get a comfy bed to sleep in. She was looked after in every
way imaginable, enjoying conversation with residents and staff, a most welcome visit to the hairdresser and plenty of rest. On returning home mum declared that she would be happy to return as it wasn't a bit like an 'old people's home'!
The other residents seemed happy and comfortable, the staff were cheerful, kind and respectful at all times and the place is spotless.

My mother was a resident of Park Lane until her death in February 2019. Staff were outstandingly caring and compassionate, particularly leading up to her passing. However, throughout her stay there was almost continuous piercing noise throughout the building caused by residents alarms. I think it is
vitally important that a less intrusive way to alert staff to residents needs is found. It affects both staff and residents. Nevertheless, both myself and her family appreciated the many positive aspects of the home.

My brother was only here for a few weeks but having resisted going 'into a home' he realized he could no longer cope at home. From the first day, he was made to feel welcome and very soon settle to his new way of life. The place was spotless and staff pleasant and friendly. Somebody popped in to see
he was alright regularly. We found staff ready to talk, ask and answer questions readily.

After living a very independent life my father, at the age of 96, became a resident at Park Lane. nursing home. The care he received from all the staff was brilliant, each and everyone gave him the care and attention he needed. They even take their time to look after any visitors family and friends,
nothing is too much trouble. Sadly my father passed away recently but I know, in the last few months of his life, he received love, care and attention he needed. Even in his final hours, we received the help and support from all staff making this time a little easier.
