My mother-in-law was admitted directly from the hospital for an assessment of her needs. The management, staff and owners have been absolutely brilliant everybody is so attentive, and the owners are accommodating and incredibly caring asking what can they do to improve my mother-in-law's stay with them.
Her room is great, and large enough to accommodate her electric chair and a china cabinet containing some of her prized possessions. The manager has an excellent eye for detail and runs a tight but very caring ship, each and every staff member shows care, compassion and understanding to all residents and their particular needs. The quality of the meals is amazing with roasts at least twice a week, supplemented with fresh vegetables, and all dietary needs catered for. This is a real tribute to the owners, management and staff, and a first-rate care home who are giving my mother-in-law a cosy comfortable satisfying and safe environment to live in. Thank you!

My father has been living at Wychdene for 10 months now and has settled in very well. The staff are amazing and care for him very well. It was so sad when dad developed dementia and had to give up his home of 50 years but Wychdene is a home-from-home. It is a family.

My mother is treated with love and respect by all the staff of Wychdene. I could not wish for a better place for her. All her special needs are met and pre-empted. It seems that nothing is too much trouble for the staff they always appear happy and this rubs off on the residents.

My mother was cared for with love, preserving her comfort and her dignity until the end. She lived here for three years and always spoke very highly of all the staff who cared for her. I only ever observed kindness and care, including the times when my elderly mother was being difficult or displaying
prejudice.

The staff were very good at gently persuading my mother to participate in social activities. She wasn’t a naturally sociable person but benefited from being in the company of others. Equally, they recognised when she just wanted to be in her own space.

I know, from conversations I had with her, that the catering was ‘tweaked’ to cater for foods that she particularly liked or missed. She appreciated that. She always commented on the good quality and quantity of food.

My mother had the best care in Wychdene, I couldn’t ask for better. All the staff from the management, carers, kitchen, laundry and maintenance. The home is a very happy home and the staff have always got a smile on their faces. They were all very easy to approach about anything and nothing was too
much trouble. At my mother's end of life, they did everything to make it better for the whole family and made sure my mother was always clean, her hair done amazing and was treated with dignity. I could not have coped at the end without the wonderful staff. I would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you Wychdene.

Mum says that the staff at Tree Tops were all very good and that she felt very looked after and well-fed! Mum said the food and puddings were delicious and that it was nice to have others to chat to. Mum enjoyed having her hair washed, blow-dried, and her nails painted. If Mum forgot where she was going,
there was always staff on hand to assist. A welcome stay for respite.

Great standard of care provided at Treetops. All staff show a willingness to go the extra mile for their clients and family members. Very clean, comfortable and friendly environment. Carers demonstrate empathy and a social interest in their client's personality, likes and dislikes. Very impressed with
the speed in which medical needs are handled at the home too. Thank you Tree Tops for taking such good care of our dear relative during these difficult times.

After my mum passing away, my dad became very low his Dr admitted him (he is 88), within 3 weeks my dad has improved so much he is engaging with staff and other residents. The care he has been given is brilliant. Dad has chosen to stay on. The manager and staff have made a big difference to my dad at
a very hard time in his life.

The manager of Tree Tops helped me with all the admin to get mum admitted just before lockdown 2! He reassured mum and me and is doing everything in his power to find mum a permanent place in this lovely home from home. I rang this morning and he was able to put my mind at rest by reading her notes
to me. She was checked every two hours throughout the night and made comfortable with warm drinks when needed. So very grateful.

My mother, a resident at St Helier's, had her 100th birthday today and I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful birthday experience you arranged for Mum under very difficult weather conditions and with COVID limitations in place. I cannot praise their constant attention to my
mum enough and a special mention to one member of staff in particular for her continued care.

After considering many other care homes in the local area for my elderly mother, I and my family finally decided that St. Helier's offered everything that we had hoped for. The view of the Leas and the sea are surpassed only by the excellent service offered to residents including a superb and varied
menu, that having eaten here myself, I found delicious. I would certainly recommend the St Helier's Residential Hotel and it's staff to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment either for themselves or for their elderly relatives. The residence itself has common areas that are clean, warm and comfortable. The individual rooms that I have seen have easy access, are light and airy, tastefully furnished, allowing for personal items and artefacts pictures etc to give a more homely feel. The staff are always polite helpful and friendly, extremely professional but always warm and approachable.

We are living in unprecedented times; anxieties about our loved ones, and our inability to visit them in this period of isolation and lockdown, a prompt stark reminder of our dependence on the front line staff who care for them. I’m writing to pay tribute to everyone at St Helier's, the carers, cleaners,
chefs and managers, who continue to offer love, support, reassurance and comfort to all the residents in their care. Their professionalism is second to none, and I cannot praise or thank them enough for their commitment and dedication despite fears for their own health and that of their families.
My 91-year-old aunt moved into St H in September. St H sent me a video of her and her dog Penny, tucked up, safe and secure in the midst of the crisis which threatens us all. Thank you for this inspired gesture, thank you for your ongoing communications, thank you for everything you do. Stay safe and take care.

Thank you for your kind words, it means such a lot to us at St Heliers, especially during this very difficult time to have these reviews from family members.
We continue to send video messages and new letters on a regular basis.
Keep well and keep safe, look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Such a lovely care home. My nan has a been a resident of St Helier's for around about a year and I have been so pleased with how the home has cared for my nan. My nan always looks cared for and well presented whenever we pop in unannounced. Her room is lovely and spacious and the facilities are good
- there is a nice reception room and restaurant so visiting nan is easy. We celebrated her 99th birthday recently and the family were able to visit and celebrate. The staff were so accomodating. My nan is able to be taken out along the seafront for fresh air and ice cream which she loves. The residents are always treated with respect and as adults. My dad and I want to pre-book our places now. Our thanks to the lovely staff of St Helier's.

All the staff at St Helier's have been fantastic during the current Covid-19 pandemic. They have kept me and my family up to date with my father's care and wellbeing and have even sent me a video message from him. They have also said that we can send video messages to them that they will share with
him.
It is reassuring to know that my dad is being so well looked after during these times and beyond.

I have loved every minute I have been here. I would give them 100/10. There is not one person who can be described as anything other than awesome! From the moment I came in to leaving, I feel like part of the family. This is not a residential home, it is a family that you are part of. They are doing
up areas, but none of that is important. What is, the warmth and love shown to us. Nothing is too much trouble. I will badly miss them all. God bless you all!
