My wife has dementia that causes her behaviour to be quite challenging at times. The staff at Grafton Lodge are absolutely marvellous in dealing with her, calming her down and getting her settled. I know how difficult this can be from looking after her at home, and the staff at Grafton Lodge have my
utmost respect. You are all stars. Thank you.

A lovely care home. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The manager is very approachable. This weekend we had a Christmas party with fun and games and singing. The staff work incredibly hard to make sure the residents have everything they need and are always interacting with the residents and family.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough

From the very first visit to meet The Manager and look around the home on a random calling time I was greeted with warm welcoming smiling faces, procedure for entering and the reading of all health and safety incase of Emergency.
I was shown around a beautifully kept home, Lounge where I saw relaxing
Residents, being seen by attentive Carers, into the Dining Room which is not only inviting and well kept but clean and somewhere youd enjoy sitting and eating whilst socialising with other Residents.
Inidvidual Rooms were clean and kept incredibly tidy, all Bathrooms and Showrooms I was shown all spotless, ensuites ..clean and tidy.
A Laundry Room which had an immaculate Routine for washing drying etc
Some of the Residents spoke to me off their own backs and said how very happy they were, how they were treated as a Family but most of all everybody showed respect that this was their home. My Mum has been in nearly a week on Respite and there is such a change in her expression and feel.

My Mum has been at Grafton lodge for over a year now and in that time the home has just gone on from strength to strength.
It is run with care and love at its heart that is as inspiring as it is to be a part of.
The staff are a joy to know led by a team that are a pleasure to know.
I am proud to
be connected with it.

During mum's time at Grafton Lodge she was happy and cared for. Family events and celebrations organised by the manager and staff were lovely and inclusive.
The team show a great level of skill and patience and have time for each resident, taking into account each person's character.
During the end
months before she sadly passed away the manager and her team went above and beyond for not only her but us as well.
We cannot fault the level of care. She was treated as one of their family. My daughter and I thank them greatly.

I feel very blessed to have found this little gem of a home. It really is home from home and the staff do actually 'Care'!
You feel their warmth as soon as you walk through the door.
My Dad initially went there, and more recently my mum is there too!
They are constantly cared for with lovely food
and lots of activities.
I do not think you will find another care home as amazing as this one!

In September 2023 my husband was cared for at Grafton Lodge for 2 weeks respite. This was his 3rd session of respite care in 2023.
I was particularly pleased that on arrival and departure we were helped by staff to and from the car which I found most useful and helped me begin 'my respite from caring'
the moment that I left Grafton; because I was confident that he would receive competent care throughout his stay.
The friendly greetings from staff were so encouraging and the management team, although extremely busy, took time to reassure me and check medication thoroughly as they knew that I would be unable to visit.
The care and support is so obvious; a relaxed approach to care but within high standards.
Well done for achieving this.
I can only say that I am looking forward to being able to use this respite service regularly in order to enable me to continue my long-term care for my husband.
Thank you.

My brother moved to Grafton in August for respite and is now a resident. I can not speak highly enough about all of the amazing staff, the care he has received has been wonderful. The staff treat residents with care and compassion and with dignity and respect, always. There is a real homely feel at
Grafton and visitors are made to feel welcome at all times.

Mum has been suffering with Vascular Dementia since 2018, after a fall at home in late August 2023 she was admitted to hospital for three and a half weeks, as a result she lost her mobility and weight. Mum joined Grafton Lodge on respite care from 20/09/23. At this time a plan was agreed with management
to address her needs after discharge from Medway Hospital. I looked at many places for Mum and as soon as I walked in you could feel the homeliness. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities each day, Mum has benefitted from this. When we visit she is always chatty, cheerful and pleased to see us; a sure sign she is happy and content. Mum came to Grafton Lodge in very poor health, the last four months the constant care, routine and kindness all the staff showed to her, we are very confident that our Mum/Nan is in safe loving hands. We are blessed to have Mum cared for here by the management and family at Grafton Lodge, it is truly a wonderful establishment, which is highly recommended.

I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect place for my mum. The staff are knowledgeable and supportive, they are friendly and treat my mum like a lady. I would recommend Grafton Lodge to anyone, the care is outstanding, considering I looked at other places and there were no comparison to Grafton Lodge,
I’ve told my friends and family all about the fantastic place and hope it will keep up the standards that I have received since my mum has been a resident.

Throughout my sister’s stay, me and all my family were impressed with the level of care provided at Grafton Lodge. When my sister arrived in March, she was in very poor health. However, with the constant care, routine and kindness all the staff showed her, my family were confident that my sister was
in safe, loving hands. Thank you for giving us our sister back and another big thanks to all the carers for being so kind, happy and friendly when we came to visit.

Caring and kind. Created a real cosy home environment for their residents. Home-made food, clean rooms, hot baths with music and candles, activities, permanent carers that residents come to recognise and know and a social life within the home. My aunt was treated with respect and dignity here. A gem
in the middle of Strood. A really welcoming team, who not only helped my auntie to try and settle but also put our whole family at ease. Grateful for this wonderful place. Management really knows their stuff and every rule is followed to ensure the best care.

The love and care that the manager and whole family at Grafton Lodge showed our aunt was truly wonderful. We were blessed to have had her cared for there. Mum has been a resident of Grafton Lodge since July 2016. She has increased dementia over the years and Grafton Lodge staff have met those needs with dignity and care. Mum loved the activities when she could go down and was always cheerful and chatty; a sure sign she was happy and content. Over the
last 18 months, Mum (nearing 100 years) lost much mobility and has been confined to her bed. She is always well cared for and clean. The staff here have been exceptional and I thank them all so much for looking after Mum in her twilight years. Grafton Lodge is highly recommended.
