Cloyda Care Home

My mother went into the Cloyda care home initially for respite cover in June 2023. However the team did a fantastic job in settling her in that we decided to continue the stay and she moved there permanently.

The team work tirelessly hard to deliver a high quality level of care for residents and geniunely care for all the residents. I find it positive that the turnover of the carers is relatively low reflecting what I assume is a good work environment.

The manager and owner are actively present and both know the residents and the issues gonig on with them. They have been flexible in assisting with my mother and making adjustments for her.

The carers have constantly gone beyond their roles, including dressing mum for special occassions or buying her specific clothing items when hers were worn out.

It gives me a lot of comfort knowing she is at Cloyda Care Home.

Cloyda has the feel of a large, extended family home, with a TV lounge, a quiet lounge with books, boardgames, and well-appointed rooms. The staff are dedicated, professional, and attentive, providing a very good standard of care within a safe, friendly, and compassionate environment, particularly for patients with dementia. They are always polite and engaging with visiting family members. We always felt welcome and received regular updates on our mother. The staff truly became part of our extended family. Our mother loved her ground floor room, which helped with her mobility and provided a wonderful view of the garden. Cloyda organises a great variety of activities, including exercises, music performances, and an annual Summer BBQ. GP and nursing visits were well managed alongside NHS appointments. Our mother was cared for with genuine respect, dignity, and affection. We thank all the staff for the professional, caring way they looked after her until the end.

My dad has mixed dementia and moved to Cloyda less than a month ago, initially for two weeks' respite as caring for him had become unmanageable for my 80-year-old mum and our family. From our first call with Dhiren and our visit to the home, we were struck by how warm, welcoming and caring everyone was. Dad found it difficult to settle at first, but the team kept us regularly updated by phone, text, email and even a video call. Following their advice, we waited three weeks before visiting, and the difference was remarkable: Dad was calm, happy and settled. He celebrated his 82nd birthday there, and the chef made him a lovely cake. We now know he is safe, loved and receiving round-the-clock care. Cloyda has given us peace of mind and allowed us to be his family again, rather than full-time carers. We have decided he should remain there long term, and we are very happy he has somewhere special to call home. I would recommend Cloyda without hesitation.

My 2 concerns are lack of a room set aside for family when they visit. Also the potentially lovely garden is not in good condition. A large awning to provide shade is URGENTLY needed.

Cloyda is a fabulous care home.

The atmosphere is always pleasant + jovial + at the same time the alertness of the staff to the needs of the residents is first class.

Cloyda Care Home New Malden has proven to be a good choice as he settled in well and has excellent support from all the staff. He feels very at home there and I am so grateful for how both management and the care workers ensure that he has the best experience and make him feel like he's one of the family.

My mother, who has advanced dementia needed an urgent solution when my father passed away. Cloyda were very fast to respond and made it very easy. The owners, managers and staff were very friendly and welcoming to us and especially caring with my mother. It's a nice quiet place with extensive garden. She has a private room and is very happy there. The price is very reasonable. Can recommend.

Mum is always treated with kindness, respect and dignity, and I know she is surrounded by people who want the very best for her. I am so grateful to every member of the team who has cared for her over the years. Their compassion, patience and dedication have given me such peace of mind, and I honestly couldn't thank them enough.

My mum has been a resident at the Cloyda care home for the past nine years. I particularly like the fact that I can visit mum at anytime during working hours and staff are always pleased to see me. I've often sat in the reception area with mum and watched staff's interactions with other residents and I could see first-hand how well the residents are looked after. An added bonus is that many of the staff that were present when mum first first went there, in 2017, are still there. This is a well run establishment with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I've seen care staff go above and beyond the normal call of duty to provide outstanding care that is tailored to my mum's specific needs. I have every confidence that my mum is being well looked after and I therefore have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

Fortunately my mum is looked after here by Louise and her staff. The staff look after the residents really well and they try so hard to still give them a life. They bring in animals, have exercises to music ( Mum and I always get a bit said when the lovely lady puts on Copacabana while we shake our pom poms) have little parties and birthday cakes. Thank you so much all of you.

My Uncle had been at Cloyda since 2016 and they have been one of the happiest times of his life. He has always been looked after by family members due to his mental health issues, when this was no longer possible Cloyda Care Home is where he went to, we were all very nervous about it as he had never been anywhere else but to our surprise he absolutely loved it and all the staff were so kind to him it was like having another family again. I'm so happy with the love and care he gets there and it shows when I pick him up to take him out. The home is not plush but it's the people that make it it's a homely caring atmosphere and that's what counts. The manager is wonderful and so down to earth you can talk to her about anything, thank you so much to everyone who works there you are amazing

My late partner's father moved to Cloyda Care Home in October 2025 where he has been well cared for since. He is living with Alzheimer's which this care home is able to support.

When we first spoke to the care home to make enquiries I got the impression they were a caring team who were friendly and honest. When I took my father in law to visit the care home those first impressions were confirmed. The home was full of life and energy, the staff were all friendly and greeted us with smiles and a warm welcome and there were activities taking place. The latter was very important to us as my father in law was used to going to day centres and being kept occupied and stimulated with games and music.

I visit whenever I like. There is no need to call in advance. This demonstrates that what you see when you visit is exactly what is going on all the time - great care where residents are safe and protected.

The building is tired and ready for updating but the most important thing is that the carers are well supported and are kind and caring, which they certainly are. Thank you.

Cloyda has a distinct aura when you enter the home. This was the reason behind choosing Cloyda for my husband. The staff gel so well together & also with residents/residents' families. Any concerns that may arise are dealt with asap. Nothing is too much trouble. I have the utmost faith & trust in all they do for my husband who has been a resident since February 2022. They treat him with dignity & respect.

We moved my elderly Mum into Cloyda at the end of February this year, having tried (and failed) to manage her accelerating dementia ourselves.

We could not have been more delighted to find this wonderful, family-owned care home, with its lovely carers, who are so gentle, fun and attentive and who treat Mum as the individual she is (not just 'an old lady with dementia'), to the management team, events team, the incredible cooks and, of course the owners. We feel as though we've struck gold.

The food is great (they had a barbecue outside, with a covered area for the residents a week ago), the events are fun and age/ ability-appropriate, there's a beautiful garden with roses and fruit trees, but more than anything, there's a real sense that each person who lives at Cloyda is known and seen for who they are.

I absolutely recommend Cloyda.

We are so happy with the care my mother has had over the last 18 months. The environment is friendly and the staff are so attentive and fun. Mum is really enjoying living here and we are reassured that she is being cared for and looked after by genuinely lovely people. Would not hesitate to recommend Cloyda.
