My late partner's father moved to Cloyda Care Home in October 2025 where he has been well cared for since. He is living with Alzheimer's which this care home is able to support.

When we first spoke to the care home to make enquiries I got the impression they were a caring team who were friendly and

honest. When I took my father in law to visit the care home those first impressions were confirmed. The home was full of life and energy, the staff were all friendly and greeted us with smiles and a warm welcome and there were activities taking place. The latter was very important to us as my father in law was used to going to day centres and being kept occupied and stimulated with games and music.

I visit whenever I like. There is no need to call in advance. This demonstrates that what you see when you visit is exactly what is going on all the time - great care where residents are safe and protected.

My dad is really well looked after at Cloyda by consistent and caring staff who have got to know him well. They are quick to respond if he is unwell and advocate for him with his GP Practice. The staff are support for my mum too when she visits dad and they listen to her worries or feelings.
Dad enjoys
his meals, is always dressed in lovely clean clothes and when he is able is engaged in activities.
After a hospital admission the care staff reassessed dad and although his needs had changed he was welcomed back with adjustments to his care plan.
The building is tired and ready for updating but the most important thing is that the carers are well supported and are kind and caring, which they certainly are. Thank you.

Cloyda has a distinct aura when you enter the home. This was the reason behind choosing Cloyda for my husband. The staff gel so well together & also with residents/residents' families. Any concerns that may arise are dealt with asap. Nothing is too much trouble. I have the utmost faith & trust in all
they do for my husband who has been a resident since February 2022. They treat him with dignity & respect.

We moved my elderly Mum into Cloyda at the end of February this year, having tried (and failed) to manage her accelerating dementia ourselves.

We could not have been more delighted to find this wonderful, family-owned care home, with its lovely carers, who are so gentle, fun and attentive and who

treat Mum as the individual she is (not just 'an old lady with dementia'), to the management team, events team, the incredible cooks and, of course the owners. We feel as though we've struck gold.

The food is great (they had a barbecue outside, with a covered area for the residents a week ago), the events are fun and age/ ability-appropriate, there's a beautiful garden with roses and fruit trees, but more than anything, there's a real sense that each person who lives at Cloyda is known and seen for who they are.

I absolutely recommend Cloyda.

We are so happy with the care my mother has had over the last 18 months. The environment is friendly and the staff are so attentive and fun. Mum is really enjoying living here and we are reassured that she is being cared for and looked after by genuinely lovely people. Would not hesitate to recommend
Cloyda.

My mum's care at Cloyda has been exceptional, a difficult decision for us for mum to go into a home but we have been so fortunate to have chosen Cloyda. It's a lovely, caring home with staff that really care about their residents. She is happy and settled well over the last year. It's a real homely
atmosphere for all residents.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.337)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.337) out of 10 for Cloyda Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.930 for Cloyda Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.93
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.407 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cloyda Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.857
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
