My Mum became a resident at George Brooker House in November 2022. When myself sister and brother went to view George Brooker House we were immediately impressed. The management, senior carers, carers, activity team, housekeepers, kitchen staff, maintenance form a whole home approach for the residents and their families. My Mum was looked after with respect and dignity throughout the time she was in George Brooker House. My Mum became ill towards the end of March and sadly passed away at the beginning of April. As a family we could not fault the support of the staff that we received. I would truthfully recommend George Brooker House to anyone thinking of putting a relative or friend in a care home

My Mum went into George Brooker in November 2022 and sadly passed April 2026. In the 3 1/2 years she was there I can honestly say that she could not have been cared for any better. All the staff, from the cleaners, laundry, kitchen, carers up to management could not have been more kinder, considerate and caring than they were. They are also very friendly to relatives. The food is absolutely excellent and any small issue we had (which was very rare) was immediately sorted. In Mum's last few weeks, the staff could not do enough for her, or for myself, my sister and my brother. I would thoroughly recommend George Brooker to anyone considering a care home.

George Brooker have looked after my Mum since November 2022 and it is just a wonderful place. All of the staff, cleaners, laundry, chefs, carers, senior carers, the activity team and the management are first class. They take a real interest in the residents, entertain them brilliantly, interact so well with them and nothing is too much trouble. The whole team has a really positive attitude and outlook which makes it a really great place for the residents.

The interaction with relatives is also great, the team will listen and act on any queries or concerns quickly and keep relatives fully informed.

Putting a parent in a care home is not easy and can be unsettling, but I would have no hesitation in recommending George Brooker House as a first class care home. Unfortunately, my Mum passed away in April, but the support in her final days from all the team both to my Mum, myself and my two sisters was just incredible. Thank you George Brooker for making my Mum so happy in her later life.

Mum went into George Brooker house for restbite for two weeks in June but due to her vascular dementia and her safety she was made permanent.
It was such a hard thing to do for your parent but I have to say with such a grateful heart that it was the best thing for mum and us as her children.
The carers and staff are such lovely caring understanding people you would ever meet. Nothing is too much and always have a happy understanding caring attitude. Always getting the residents involved with whatever is going on that day. My mum is involved with the dementia choir, and they take residents out regularly nothing is ever too much for them.
They all treat our mum with respect compassion and love. Making sure she is comfortable happy eating well and personal care, nothing is EVER too much trouble.
I would recommend this wonderful home as the staff say to us it's mums home now.
Visiting mum there is always a pleasure as she has a lovely rapport with all the staff.

It's a blessed place.

My sister has been a resident for just over 3½ years. She has Alzheimer's and when her behaviour is challenging, the staff and management deal with this in a kind and professional manner. Management is also supportive of me, which is much appreciated. The residents are safe, the staff friendly, the Home clean and the food very good.

My mum has been a resident at George Brooker for 2years and has always been treated with kindness and dignity. There are a very varied set of activities that everyone is encouraged to take part in also family entertainment events for fundraising . Food is of a very high quality and plentiful. If my mum doesn't feel like joining in a main activity the staff have come to her room and she has enjoyed that. Overall no faults to be found .

I would highly recommend George Brooker House. My mum has been a resident at the home for 20 months now, she really loves it there and has formed friendships with some of the residents over time.
When we visit my mum, we are always made to feel welcome by the team, who are all friendly and helpful.
My mum's room is nicely decorated, spacious and always kept clean and tidy.
The home is very well run by the management, who are very professional, helpful and supportive.
The carers do a wonderful job with my mum, they are kind, caring, helpful and patient with her and, she has grown very fond of them.
There are a range of meaningful and fun activities and outdoor trips provided by the activities team, who encourage my mum to participate in the activities, which enjoys and is really good for her general well-being.
My mum enjoys the selection of healthy, well-presented and home-cooked meals and deserts.

The team at The George Brooker do a really good job and, my family and I appreciate them all.

My mum has been a resident at the care home for nearly four years. She has very challenging behaviour due to her dementia, which can make her difficult to manage and care for. The staff and management do a fantastic job meeting all her needs, they are patient, understanding, and consistently go above and beyond. We would truly be lost without them. Knowing Mum is receiving the best care possible brings our family great comfort, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone facing the difficult journey of finding the right care for a loved one.

We were advised that my mum who was sadly diagnosed with dementia would benefit from a care home. We were offered a room for her at George Brooker House. She has been there since 24th March 2025. Initially mum was quire unsettled with the chance. For a few weeks she was distressed and stayed in her room but due to the staffs understanding and support and care mum is now enjoying the activities that are offered and enjoys relaxing in the lounge with the other residents and chatting to them as well as the staff who do an all round fantastic job of making mum feel a part of the home and the constant care is a massive weight of my kind knowing she is safe when I'm not with her. Thank you

My mother stayed here for just under a year and absolutely loved it. We her family also could not praise the staff enough for how well they looked after our Mum. Unfortunately due to her becoming poorly the staff were not trained to deal with this and after being admitted to hospital GBH would not accept her back. This we feel had a devastating affect on our Mum as after a short time away from the home she passed away. We feel if she was able to return to GBH she would have improved and may still be with us now.
I believe more should be done to help train the staff to look after patients with medical illnesses. Unfortunately we've learnt its all about money at the end of the day and that's a big shame.

Well done GBH, keep going xx and thank you from our mum's family xx
