My mum went into respite care for two weeks. This was her, and my first experience with care homes. It was chosen for us by her social worker as I am out of this area and didn’t have any knowledge to draw on.
I can honestly say they looked after her extremely well. Staff were always polite, and upon
my visits, I witnessed first hand their care and attention for their patients. Thank you for making this very difficult time for myself and mum an experience we are very grateful for. 10 out of 10 Rowallan House! Many thanks for your help, in particular the manager, for his patience with us keep changing the dates of her visit!!

I find the home very clean and modern. The staff I find are always very pleasant and helpful.
I feel I could ask for their advice about anything to do with my mother and they would help.
My Mum, unfortunately, is too ill to appreciate their care but I appreciate it and feel she is in safe hands. I
think a lot of the staff and the care they take of my Mum.

Rowallen House have made my mum's stay comfortable/reassuring. She moved room to downstairs looking on the garden. Communication is reasonably good when an emergency happens (falls, illnesses). Staff are lovely and put themselves out to give an extra mile.
I would not like to see mum anywhere else,
this is a unique place to be cared for.

My mother has been at Rowallan for 12 months - the care she receives is excellent.
The manager is excellent and always happy to make time for the family to discuss anything we wish.
The carers are all great - it has always felt a home from home which is very special for us and mum.

Since the new manager has taken over Rowallan House has improved considerably. The staff seem happy and motivated and this has an effect on the overall atmosphere.
My father-in-law is looked after and cared for with dignity and respect. The home is warm and relaxed and welcoming at all times. The
staff are friendly and approachable and I would recommend Rowallan House to anyone that is considering a care home for a loved one.

The nursing home has looked after my husband for 3 1/2 years. The staff have been excellent and caring and professional in their jobs. At the nursing home there is a good team of workers who help my husband in dressing, bathing and putting him into bed at night.

My wife noticed an advert for Rowallan House and my mum took up residence shortly after. My wife died during that year and now 5 years later, mum has died in July of this year. Mum was virtually blind but sound of mind and the activities provided by the care home helped in keeping her mind active. She
remembered most of the words of the old music hall songs and the regular parties at the home gave her the opportunity to sing which she enjoyed very much. Getting dressed each day in her day clothes was beneficial as when she was in her own home, she invariably kept her night clothes on all day. Her room was always clean and tody, her clothing when laundered in the home were replaced in one of her two wardrobes.

My mother was a resident of Rowallan House for 5 years. She had early stage dementia when she first entered Rowallan House. Prior to becoming a resident, she had three accidents in her own home. She no longer felt safe there. Without a doubt, her time in Rowallan House extended her life. She was very
happy there, very well looked after and she felt safe. The house has excellent facilities, the rooms are clean and the management and staff are very professional.

A very caring environment. My sister was treated with great care and consideration. The management were extremely efficient and coped well with what could be difficult situations concerning the elderly.

My mother was taken into Rowallan House 2 1/2 years ago. Throughout that time she was cared for and looked after by the staff and management team superbly. Their reassurance and approachability was consistent whenever we had a problem or issue. In the last few weeks of my mother's life, everything was

My mother went into Rowallan House in May 2015. From the very beginning, it became apparent that the care shown to the residents by the staff was exceptional. My mother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and the patience and understanding of all the staff meant that she was stimulated and happy. As
my mother's health deteriorated and she was eventually placed into palliative care the staff's kindness and consideration not only to Mum but to our family as well was outstanding. Our mother was able to pass away with dignity and love thanks to all the staff. Their kindness will always be remembered.

My mum came into this care home at the age of 98. She was very happy and content here. She was encouraged to bring personal items with her such as photos, ornaments etc. She found the staff very friendly and obliging in doing things for her. I arranged a birthday party with the help of management for
mum's 99th. Inviting all the family, staff and residents. In her final days, the care she received was outstanding. The staff could not do enough for her and made her very comfortable until she passed away. If I needed to go into a care home now, this one would be my first choice.

Very satisfied that care and consideration are uppermost in the mind of all staff.
The premises are bright and well looked after.
The staff are willing to talk about the care of residents and take note of any concerns you may have.
There has been a recent change of management and this has been well
managed.
A new activity worker has been appointed and a good program of events is published.
There is a good atmosphere of care and safety.

My father (96) has been a resident for the past three years and visit usually three times a week. During this time, I have always found the staff professional, polite, cheerful and friendly. Recently, dementia has made my father really bad tempered and difficult to manage but all the staff take this
in their stride. The whole site is kept scrupulously clean and the maintenance man attends to every DIY type job quickly and well. Any time our experience of an 'old people smell', it is cleaned as soon as mentioned. Overall, if I needed a care home, this is the one for me. There is a lovely garden, secluded, lawned with plenty of greenery. I love taking Dad out there in his wheelchair.

This is a wonderful care home with the emphasis on "care".


Management is always "on the ball" and staff are polite, prompt and very caring. My wife is always clean and comfortable. Her needs are all catered for. Her room is clean and cosy. Her laundry is handled with care and I have no hesitation

in recommending Rowallan House to anyone and everyone.

All staff are supportive and aware of residents' needs. My Mother relates extremely well to all staff and is always clean and well fed. I am always kept informed of her condition, i.e. doctor's visits. My sister and I have a good friendly relationship with all the carers/staff who are always approachable.

My nan is looked after really well at Rowallan House. She has had a new lease of life in the home, having weekly haircuts & having her nails done.
The staff are so caring for all her and the other residents' needs. My nan eats so well now with the great food she is given throughout the day and I am

Carly was employed as an activities co-ordinator back in 2017 and from that time she has put her heart and soul into making the residents life fun and connecting to them in a special and heart endearing way.
As the activity co-ordinator she plans the many daily activities we arrange for all our residents within Rowallan House, along with getting the Carers and residents families involved with our activities.  Her role demands high levels of imagination and versatility. She is always able to ‘think on her feet’, adapting to someone’s needs
Her goal with every resident is to ensure that they don’t feel that their life has changed too dramatically by moving in to our home.  She throws herself into using all she knows about the person, their interests, what comforts them if they get upset. Carly believes in our goals and says if someone has only participated in activity for a short time that day, it will have made a positive difference to their general wellbeing.
