Rowallan House

Marina is one of the founding partners of Rowallan House and has been at the heart of the home since it first opened its doors. Together with her husband Alan, she built Rowallan House from the ground up, helping to establish what was one of the early private care homes in the UK.

In those early days, Marina was very much hands-on and involved in every part of daily life at Rowallan House. In fact, she was even the home’s cook, preparing meals for residents herself and making sure that everything was done to the standard she expected. For her, Rowallan House was never simply a business — it was a home, and the people living there were at the centre of everything she did.

Her warmth, dedication and belief in providing genuinely personal care helped create the values that Rowallan House continues to uphold today. Kevin has been part of the Rowallan House story for as long as he can remember. Growing up, he actually lived at the home and, from a young age, witnessed the love, care and dedication that his parents, Alan and Marina, put into building Rowallan House. He saw first-hand how the home grew from a small family business into the care home it is today, and those early experiences shaped his own passion for caring for people.

He has always remained closely involved in the family business, alongside running his own businesses. He is very much a hands-on member of the team and can be found at Rowallan House most days, working alongside the staff and taking an active interest in the day-to-day running of the home. Despite the many responsibilities that come with running the business, one of the things Kevin enjoys most is simply spending time with the residents.

For Kevin, Rowallan House is much more than a business. It is the family home where he grew up and a place that has been part of his life from the very beginning. Philomena has been a valued and incredibly loyal member of the Rowallan Group since 1986, bringing with her almost four decades of experience, commitment and extensive knowledge. Over the years, she has played a key role in running and developing many of the Group’s businesses, helping to provide the stability and commercial experience that has supported the family business through decades of change and growth.

Her deep understanding of the care industry, business operations and the people behind them has been invaluable to Rowallan. Philomena has been a constant presence throughout the Group’s journey, and her knowledge, judgement and loyalty have helped underpin the businesses over many years. As Duty Manager, Sheila plays a central role in the smooth running of the home. She coordinates the care team, organises daily duties, supports staff and helps ensure that residents receive the highest standards of care and attention. She works closely with management, families and colleagues to keep communication clear and, most importantly, to make sure our residents’ wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do.
