St Christopher's is a small Care Home located in a tranquil woodland setting a mile or two from Ascot Race Course. The carestaff is of high quality and the carer-resident ratio is high. Events are organised for the residents on a regular basis to provide regular "highlights" in the routine. It is always
a pleasure to visit my mum at St Christopher's and I feel that I can rest easy in the knowledge that she is being very well cared for.

Mum moved to St Christopher's just before Christmas after having spent a couple of very unhappy weeks in another care facility. From the moment she walked in, she loved it, everybody was so caring and loving and all the staff treat her like a family member. You can tell that the staff love their job
and genuinely care about every resident, nothing is ever too much trouble. I could see a real change in her almost immediately, she is much happier, enjoys her daily walks as well as many other trips. Everywhere is also spotlessly clean and cosy.

St Christophers is a unique care home, not belonging to a chain.
They go over and above to make residents room, and their personal wishes just as they want
They appreciate people's individuality and doo their utmost to cater to it.
I really cannot recommend them enough

My mother first visited St Christopher in early 2025 as a daycare resident, and she moved in permanently in October 2025. The best way I can describe it is that it truly feels like home. The empathy and care the team provide are amazing. They did everything they could to help Mum settle in, and they've
also been incredibly supportive to us as a family. Thank you.

Our family cannot speak highly enough of St Christopher's. My father lived there for six months until his passing in December, and throughout that time the care he received was exceptional.

The staff provided genuinely personal, compassionate care and treated my father with dignity, kindness and respect

at all times. They took the time to know him as an individual, not just a resident, and nothing was ever too much trouble. This gave our family enormous reassurance during a very emotional period.

The food was freshly prepared, nutritious and clearly made with care, with staff always happy to accommodate preferences. St Christopher's truly felt like a home rather than an institution.

We will always be deeply grateful to the entire team for the warmth, professionalism and humanity they showed to my father and to our family. I would wholeheartedly recommend St Christopher's to anyone seeking outstanding care.

My mother is a resident in St Christopher's, she has been there for 10 months, I am so impressed by the level of care and professionalism displayed by the staff. Friendly and attentive, making her feel comfortable and valued. The environment is warm and clean and well maintained, but the biggest asset
s the staff.

The team St Christopher's have looked after mum exceptionally well with great care, sensitivity and compassion. Not any easy job with mum's advanced dementia. Mum settled into St. Christopher's amazingly well and it was made so easy from all the fantastic support of the staff. Mum enjoyed their days
out and activities in the home through out the year. We receive great support around mum's care and wellbeing too. Mum has spent over 2.5 years between St Christopher's and St. David's (sister building at the same site). Having both the residential facilities of St C's and nursing facilities of St D's made mum's transition between one to other seamless earlier this year when her dementia deteriorated. This year truly confirmed we made the right decision nearly 3 years ago in choosing this care home for mum. I would highly recommend St Christopher's and St David's to anyone who's family member or friend need this care.

My mother has been with St Christophers for almost 3 years, mum had Alzheimer's. The home itself is beautiful and the staff are incredibly kind and lovely. The activities they organise are great. Mum is so well looked after. We have the peace of mind knowing my mum is safe and happy and we can visit
anytime.

St Christopher's is an outstanding care home. It has a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere with incredibly caring and experienced staff. They are an exceptional and motivated team of people who take a lot of pride in doing a good job. They have got to know my Mum and really treat her like a family member.
My mother loves singing and used to be in a choir, we were so touched that they recognised this and asked her to sing with another member of staff at the recent carol concert. That is just one example of the ethos at St Christopher's of treating residents as individuals. Visiting Mum is a happy experience because she is so settled and the staff are so welcoming.
The home is beautifully maintained with the look of a well appointed private house with lovely bathrooms.
As my mother has Alzheimer's it has been a worrying time. Moving here has changed the situation for the better to the extent that her Alzheimer's has remained stable since she came to the home in April '24.

St Christopher's is a homely place to live, with lovely colours everywhere, comfortable sofas and armchairs in the sitting room and a dining room laid out beautifully for meals, always celebrating whatever time of year it is. Their Christmas decorations throughout the home are fabulous. The staff are
all permanent, well trained and rotated on occasions between St Christopher's and the adjacent their sister site to provide continuity of care and cover over the long term. There is good communication between staff on the different rotas and I especially notice how cheery and on the ball the night shifters are. My experience of the staff is that they are respectful to residents, kind and conscientious.

My Mum moved into St Christopher's Care Home in November 2019 when she could no longer live independently in her own home. From the very first day, she was made to feel welcome. It was a home away from home. Everything about St Christopher's is exceptional. Spotlessly clean, bright and airy, superb
grounds and wonderful catering. When Mum's health began to deteriorate, both the medical care and pastoral care were excellent and the communication with the family was very clear and concise. All through the COVID pandemic, we were able to maintain contact with Mum. Over the past couple of years, Mum was on end-of-life care, which was thoughtful and sensitive. All her needs were met without fail. Mum passed away peacefully in October and even in her final hours the staff went the extra mile for both her and the family. We cannot praise or thank everyone associated with St Christopher's enough.

My mother has been at St Christopher's for over 3 years and we have been delighted with the quality of service and care. She has been able to join in lots of activities and trips and has been part of a community whereas prior to moving to St Christopher's she led an increasingly isolated life. I cannot
recommend it too highly!

St Christopher's is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, full of wildlife. The care my mum receives at St Christopher's is second to none. Mum was very unsettled when she first moved there but the staff went out of their way to make that transition go very smoothly. The staff are truly very caring
in the way they care for Mum and also take time to get to know the families. The residents are kept busy with lots of daily activities which are captured in a monthly newsletter. There is a real community atmosphere, families are invited to join residents at events such as firework evening and summer fete and many events in the church including a carol concert and to celebrate Nurses Day.

St Christopher's is unlike any other care home I've visited (and I looked at a few when trying to find the right place for my Mother). It is small and friendly, truly a home not just a care facility. There isn't a high turnover of staff, which speaks volumes and is so important for my mum who has dementia.
The kindness, care, and compassion she is shown, on a daily basis is wonderful. The place is in a beautiful setting, the rooms are lovely and there is a great range of activities but, most importantly there is a personal touch in the way the staff care for and interact with the residents as individuals.

A fabulous home with staff who are both professional but also, and far more importantly, care for each person as an individual. The staff are flexible and accommodating both for the residents but also their visitors. My mum had an easy transition into this home, quickly falling in love with the peaceful

We looked at a lot of care homes when my Mother was no longer able to live at home. As soon as we walked into St Christopher's we knew we had found a special place. It is small and homely, the bedrooms are very comfortable. The staff are all kind and caring, there are activities every day and every
resident is treated as an individual. The staff pay great attention to the needs of the residents and if they are at all concerned about my Mother they ring immediately. The home is always very clean and everything smells fresh. My Mother has now lived at St Christopher's for two years and I'm still very pleased that we chose St Christopher's.

My mother has resided at St Christopher's for over two years and the care that she receives there is exemplary.
Although she is 94 and has Alzheimer's Dementia the staff treat her as an individual and specially cater for her interests, namely music and current affairs.
The atmosphere and decor is
that of a country hotel, the food varied and appetising.
The staff are kind and caring, continuity is good and we are welcomed as friends.
The grounds are glorious and beautifully kept.
Many activities are provided both inside the home, in the grounds and also trips out.
My sisters and I feel very fortunate to have found such a lovely place for our mother's remaining years.

My mother moved into St Christopher’s for the last year of her life, when she could no longer live independently at home and she would often tell us how happy she was. The kindness, care, compassion and love she was shown, especially in the last few days of her life, was wonderful.
There is not a high
turnover of staff, which speaks volumes and is so important for my mum who had dementia. You can always speak to someone in times of need. The place is in a beautiful setting, the rooms are lovely and there are a great range of activities. But, above all, there was the personal touch in the way the staff cared for Mum and knew her. As a family, we also felt cared for and supported in so many ways, which we will always be grateful for.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.939)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.939) out of 10 for St Christopher's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.964 for St Christopher's is calculated as follows: ( (218 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.964
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Christopher's is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
