Mum has been at St Christophers for over a year, as she is no longer able to care for herself. The care she receives is excellent. Knowing she is safe and well cared for by the lovely staff, who go above and beyond, in such a beautiful setting, is so reassuring.

St Christopher's has been great for my mum, who is suffering from dementia. Her quality of life has improved tremendously alongside her mental and physical well-being.
All aspects of her care have been of the highest quality, from the standard of accommodation and the calibre of the staff to the extensive
activities to keep the residents engaged and entertained. The food is of restaurant quality, and each day's menu is interesting and varied. I have full access to visit Mum at any time (within reason), and I am able to take Mum out for trips at will.
The care, tenderness, and professionalism that the staff show is very reassuring to me, and I have complete confidence that Mum is in precisely the right place.

Mum became a resident of St Christophers care home just under a year ago when her dementia meant she could no longer live on her own. From her first day there, I have had absolutely no doubts that she's in the best place to help with her increasing needs. All the staff, from cleaners to management,
treat all the residents with such care and respect.
The home is always spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and has a proper homely feel about it. It is set in beautiful grounds, and Mum loves to walk around regularly with one of the lovely carers. There is something to do every day and plenty of day trips for the residents. Regular pampering sessions, a visiting hairdresser and a choice of tasty meals keep everyone looking good! Relatives are kept up to date on what's going on in the home by e-mail and monthly Zoom meetings. The relief of knowing Mum is now being so well cared for is huge. I'm so pleased I chose St Christophers to care for her.

After an illness and bereavement, my mum was very run down and struggling to cope on her own at home. Her confidence had taken a real knock. She moved into St Christopher's and has just come back home after six weeks, where she had exceptional care and, importantly, staff who really took an interest
in getting her confidence and independence back. The staff are wonderful and run lots of activities and trips out. The grounds are so beautiful, and as soon as she was able, my mum was taking a walk every day. Great service, which gave her the break she needed, and I anticipate her still popping in every now and then to join in some activities, which will help to keep her social and encourage her to find other activities to join in. The knowledge for her now that there is somewhere she can go for a short stay if things get a bit much is really reassuring for her. Thank you. I feel I have my mum back.

I find the staff, who have been employed for many years, extremely thoughtful and caring, both to the needs of my mother with dementia and myself as we navigate this dreadful illness.
The food is excellent, all homemade, and they accommodate my mother's wishes and requirements excellently.
There are
always activities on, of a broad variety, should my mother wish to participate indeed, they have encouraged my mother to take part, much to my surprise and increasing the quality of her life and happiness.
The home is set in beautiful surroundings and incredibly well maintained, which does add to the pleasure of both visiting and for my mother.

Mum has been at St Christopher's for nearly 2 years, she is so well looked after and cared for that she is more than happy to call it home. The staff are so very caring and remain extremely professional at all times. Communication is constantly forthcoming, updates are regular. All in all a wonderful
care home.

My mother has been in the care of St Christopher's for nearly 8-months. In that time, she has put on weight, and in general, does very well. I feel that having my mother in their care has probably kept her going through the pandemic. St Christopher's has coped admirably, and there is much to commend
them for.

St Christopher's is a wonderful place. It is always hard when your mother needs help that you can't provide. The standard of care at St Christopher's is first class; very professionally done, but as importantly, in a loving way. Any resident is more than just a resident. My mum is very happy there,
and that is down to the amazing staff at St Christopher's.

Our mother moved into St Christopher's in early December, as living independently with dementia was becoming increasingly difficult. My sister's mother-in-law lived here for two years and blossomed with the excellent care and support received. During this difficult time, it has been hard for my siblings
and me to step back from caring, but all the staff have been so supportive, friendly and always there not just for Mum, but all of us. We have been kept updated and informed about all aspects of her care. St Christopher's is a beautiful 'home from home' with so many lovely features. Regular Zoom meetings notify us of any information, which is reassuring and relative's suggestions are encouraged and supported. Set in beautiful woodlands, wildlife cameras have captured some wonderful animals and these are shared with residents and relatives. Such peace of mind knowing Mum is safe and being care for by such wonderful people. "Let us take care of your Mum, so you can go back to being her daughter". Woods said to me that meant so much. Thank you.

My mother entered St Christopher's shortly before the Covid crisis, which was a blessing. Despite the difficult circumstances over the past year, St Christopher's have facilitated visits in a Covid safe manner and have kept the care home free of Covid all this time.
My mother has been able to take
her dog with her, and despite some challenges, the staff at St Christopher's have coped uncomplainingly. The dog is also appreciated by the other residents.
The manager of the Ascot Residential homes has held Zoom sessions with relatives on a weekly/two weekly basis, keeping us informed and updated on everything they are doing, what visiting facilities are available - both physical and technological. These updates have been brilliant in appraising relatives and reinforcing the community that we are part of.

Our elderly mum was in hospital and had to go straight into a care home once discharged.
We had a virtual tour of St Christopher’s and felt it would be amazing for our mum. There is a lovely feeling on visiting and grounds beautiful. We have met most of the staff - all very caring and Mum is getting
such lovely care and is definitely much better health-wise.
We get regular updates. Trips are organised and there are lots of things going on for the residents.
We love that our mum is very well cared for and part of a little family at St Christopher’s.

My father has dementia and has been at St Christopher's for over two years. He came to St Christopher's when my mother was at the end of her life, as she had been his full-time carer. I was overwhelmed by the kindness the team showed dad the first time they visited him, during what was a very stressful
time for the family. Not only did they quickly put dad at ease and show him so much respect and understanding, but they were also very thoughtful and caring to me too. Ever since then dad has received amazing care from all of the staff, who are cheerful, respectful and genuinely warm people. It is such a relief to know that dad is well looked after and happy in his surroundings. St Christopher's is a very special home with a wonderful welcoming and cosy atmosphere, which feels like home from home. There is great communication between the staff and family members so that we are always kept updated on how dad is doing. A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you.

My mother has been a resident at St Christopher's for 2 and a half years, she suffers from dementia which is getting worse. I am extremely happy with the way she is being looked after and given such excellent care by all the staff. They always get in contact with me if there is something I need to
know about her state of health. They are very open about telling you what is going on and inviting suggestions from relatives. It is very comforting to know that the same people have been looking after my mother all this time and have got to know her really well, that continuity is very reassuring.
Every week St Christopher's organises a full programme of activities for the residents, I know my mother loves the singing. When you can no longer look after your loved one yourself it is quite scary to hand them over to someone else 24/7 but I have complete confidence that my mother is having the best possible care. I'd recommend this care home without hesitation.

My father has been living at St. Christopher's since last autumn when our mother passed away. Despite the very difficult circumstances (having spent a few weeks in another home which turned out to be unsuitable) and then losing his wife, my father settled very quickly into life at St. Christopher's.
ALL the staff go out of their way to make residents feel at home and to give them the care and attention needed. Whether it be the handyman, cook, owners or of course care staff, they really are fantastic. I live abroad, which means I cannot visit as often as I would like, but since my father has been at St. Christopher's, I have found a sense of serenity knowing that he is being looked after so well. It is not possible to express in words the gratitude felt towards the whole team. We feel so lucky as a family to be able to visit whenever, enjoy meals together and not have to worry anymore. Thank you!

My nan has been a resident for just over 1 year and during that time, has suffered with worsening dementia. However, the staff are wonderful, work incredibly hard and are always caring and friendly, to ensure my nan is always being looked after very well.
Especially with some recent health issues,
the care has always been maintained to a high level and the overall home and facilities are very good.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.939)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.939) out of 10 for St Christopher's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.964 for St Christopher's is calculated as follows: ( (218 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.964
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Christopher's is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
