Having just undergone complete refurbishment throughout, the Laurels offers first-class single bedroom accommodation over just two floors, served by a passenger lift. It enjoys a family atmosphere, combining quality care with a positive living experience. There is a strong emphasis on family and resident interaction, with a wide range of activities for all to enjoy.

The home has level access throughout, whilst the surroundings include well-kept gardens, a fish pond and decking area, as well as a safe seating area in the inner courtyard. There are safety handrails for residents with mobility issues and staff are on hand throughout the day and night.

From the moment he arrived The Laurels Team have gone out of their way to make Dad and us (daughters) feel as if we are part of 'The Family'. Dad's individual needs have been swiftly, professionally and sympathetically identified and addressed. Consequently, he is now settled and is eating, drinking
and sleeping really well and is clean, tidy, happy and relaxed when we visit. He is sociable and friendly with all the carers, staff and other residents and enjoys the many organised activities available. The theme days, e.g. Wild West Day, visiting singers and other organised activities are particularly good. The menus and food are of a very high standard (home-cooked daily) and the frequent 'Tea Rounds' are much appreciated by both the residents and their visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. There is also a lovely garden available, with a fish pond and waterfall. It is very tranquil and it is lovely to sit out there with Dad when we visit. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Laurels to anybody as a friendly, extremely competent, caring place for their loved one to live! Many thanks to everyone involved for looking after our Dad!

I have only visited The Laurels twice to visit my elderly mother's friend, but on both visits, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely carers. Professionally I have been a care home manager and I'm a retired nurse so know a good care home when I see one. First impressions are The Laurels is a very caring,
high-standard home with dedicated staff.

Lovely small care home, only 30 residents. This is a wonderful, caring place. My mother has settled in very well and now interacts with other people. We have found she is much brighter when we see her. Her eating has improved greatly and Mum is awake most of the time during the day now. Staff are incredible.
Mum has now had two different colours of nail polish and is very proud to be displaying her bright coloured fingernails.

After a long stay in hospital, we were advised that my Mum would need 24 hour care.This was a very traumatic experience for all the family. However, thank goodness we were fortunate enough to find The Laurels.
They didn't just take excellent care of Mum ,they put their arms around all of us .
All
the dedicated team of carers, cooks and domestic staff are truly wonderful and treat my Mum with respect
and kindness.
My Mum has thrived in their outstanding care and is unrecognisable to the lady that arrived in December .We are so very grateful to you all and would highly recommend The Laurels.

The care staff are absolutely amazing, every single detail of my mum's care and wellbeing is catered for, from the fabulous chef cooking delicious home cooked meals available 24/7 to the housekeepers keeping mums room sparkling clean and her laundry always done daily. She is so very well cared for,
it is truly a home from home.

The staff are very caring, kind and considerate. My mum always looks clean and well-presented and although my lovely mum has dementia she is on the whole as happy as she can be. The cleaning staff are amazing too and the chef cooks all the food from scratch. The senior staff are excellent and if you
have any concerns they will get it sorted as soon as they can.

Staff are very friendly and caring. My dad is well looked after, he is always clean and tidy. He sits in the lounge everyday where activities are on including regular guest singers. The food is always home-cooked and Dad enjoys his meals and puddings. His room is kept spotless. All the staff, including

I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving at The Laurels. The staff are kind and caring and deal very well with issues that arise with dementia. The food is very good and the surroundings feel cosy and homely. The garden is a lovely space to look at and hopefully use when the weather is better.
It is a difficult decision to move a loved one into a care home but Mum's health and wellbeing have improved since being here.

The Laurels is a comfortable and caring home, I witness the affection of the staff with the residents every time I visit my mother. The food is lovely and plentiful. My mother recently had a visit to hospital. She was not cared for the same there and has made a huge recovery since being 'home' and under
the care of the people who know her and treat her as family.

My father lives comofrtbaly in The Laurels. He is always smart, clean and presentable. The staff are always polite, kind and caring towards my father. He appears happy in his surroundings. Some of the evening food is a bit like party food which we've spoken to The Laurels about as it lacks nutrition
and is too high in sugar for his diabetes. The floor supervisors do an excellent job looking after the residents and managing the staff.

I visit my mum each week or fortnight, depending how she is. She has been at The Laurels now about 4 years. I think she has been very happy here and seems quite at home and enjoys the company of the residents and the staff. To me she seems very settled and I like visiting her at The Laurels. She has
been in hospital 3 times since she has been here and always want to come back as soon as she can. I think though the increase in fees of 20% (over) this year is unfair and excessive.

Mum has settled into The Laurels really well, staff are very friendly and nothing is too much for them, they go above and beyond to make Mum comfortable, Mum enjoys the entertainment, for example the bingo and the craft and art activities, also the live entertainment she loves and she loves to dance
with the staff.

My mother is delighted that she finally made the decision to move into care, and she is fortunate to be at the Laurels. The staff are excellent, committed to their work, always courteous to their guests and prepared to go to great lengths to solve problems. When there have been issues, these have been

The care from day one of Mum going into The Laurels has been great. The staff are always happy and willing to engage with residents and help them out with any needs they may require. The home get in entertainers to sing and get the residents to join in if they are possible to do so.

I am please to say my mother has been looked after for the time spending in the care home, it would help me if there was someone with her just to sit and talk to her during the day as being bedbound I feel she could be lonely. Also the puree food could be more variation. Could there be a conversation
with staff on how Mum is healthwise. Clothes in her draw are always crumbled up. Paper straws are awful, they get soggy and break in mouth, very hazardous as Mum could have choked. Lovely garden but never see anyone there. Otherwise very pleased with care home staff.
