It's a hard part in life when you are looking to put a loved one into care.
At the laurels this transition was made a lot easier. All the staff were friendly and approachable. When I asked questions they were all answered and gave us confidence that mum would be safe and happy.
They said there home was made to our home. That's truly how It is.
The home is quite small which gives it even more of a relaxed family feel.
The home is Kept spotlessly clean with beautiful maintained gardens.
Mums clothes are always washed and ironed to high standard.
You are kept up to date with monthly news letters and if you do have any questions someone is always on hand to listen.
I'm so thankful that I placed my mum here. Mum has dementia but has taken to her care workers and all staff. The activities are daily with lots of singers and music. Which benefits my mum as she loves music. I can honestly say even though it was a hard decision to put my mum

In a home. The laurels have made this so easy.

Mum has been here for six weeks. It was a hard decision but had to be done for her safety and wellbeing. I can only say it was the best decision, she has a large en-suite room that is well maintained & well serviced. I can't say enough about the staff, friendly, caring always got time to chat to her & laugh at her funny ways. It took a lot of pressure off my wife and myself knowing she is well looked after.

Very happy with staff that look after my mum since she has been there August 2024. Whilst she has not been mobile for most of that time she is taken in to the lounge where the entertainment is quite frequent. The food seems to be a good selection and good quality

Dad has been at Laurels for over a year now and we have always been impressed with the care he receives from the staff who are kind, compassionate, hardworking, capable and dedicated.
Meals are prepared to a very high standard and are well presented with varying choices and the rooms are kept clean, tidy and hazard free.
The new Manager was appointed recently and is approachable, open to suggestions and very quick to implement ideas if they are considered to be beneficial.
The recent Residents/Family party was a great success and was very well organised and orchestrated. We sat outside in the lovely garden and were provided with refreshments and an impressive buffet. The entertainment was well chosen and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.

Dad is settled and as happy as we could wish for and it is a great relief for us to know he is safe and in capable hands. Well Done and Thank You Laurels for all your hard work!

Mum has been in the care home for 3 years, the home has greatly improved since the recent change of management. There seem to be more activities now and food is good and rooms are comfortable. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Excellent care home, staff really know the residents and tailor care to suit the individual. Since new management the Care Home has gone to a new level. My 98 year old mother is very happy there. Staff are fabulous. As a family we have been very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We also liked the fact the care home cares for 30 residents. This was important to us as a family because mum recognises each of the carers. That was very important for us because mum has dementia. Her face lights up when she sees her key carer.

After a management change at The Laurels, things have improved remarkably. There is a feeling of calmness and reliability that often wasn't there before, and the new team are constantly looking for ways to make the residents' experience even better. The staff continue to show extreme devotion to their tasks and are regularly in contact with residents' family members whenever required.

My mum has been in the Laurels for a year now,my mum could not walk when she first arrived, now she is walking around, talking to residents, enjoying social activities, she is a different person because of the wonderful care , dignity and love that she gets from being in the laurels.

My mum is eating well too, she gets three meals a day and snacks later in the evening, she has gained weight and is so much better for it ,we are so pleased we did the right thing by bringing mum to the laurels.

I have only visited The Laurels twice to visit my elderly mother's friend, but on both visits, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely carers. Professionally I have been a care home manager and I'm a retired nurse so know a good care home when I see one. First impressions are The Laurels is a very caring, high-standard home with dedicated staff.

After a long stay in hospital, we were advised that my Mum would need 24 hour care. This was a very traumatic experience for all the family. However, thank goodness we were fortunate enough to find The Laurels.
They didn't just take excellent care of Mum ,they put their arms around all of us .
All the dedicated team of carers, cooks and domestic staff are truly wonderful and treat my Mum with respect
and kindness.

My Mum has thrived in their outstanding care and is unrecognisable to the lady that arrived in December .We are so very grateful to you all and would highly recommend The Laurels.

I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving at The Laurels. The staff are kind and caring and deal very well with issues that arise with dementia. The food is very good and the surroundings feel cosy and homely. The garden is a lovely space to look at and hopefully use when the weather is better. It is a difficult decision to move a loved one into a care home but Mum's health and wellbeing have improved since being here.

Staff are very friendly and caring. My dad is well looked after, he is always clean and tidy. He sits in the lounge everyday where activities are on including regular guest singers. The food is always home-cooked and Dad enjoys his meals and puddings. His room is kept spotless. All the staff, including the management, are very friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend The Laurels.

The staff are very caring, kind and considerate. My mum always looks clean and well-presented and although my lovely mum has dementia she is on the whole as happy as she can be. The cleaning staff are amazing too and the chef cooks all the food from scratch. The senior staff are excellent and if you have any concerns they will get it sorted as soon as they can.

My father lives comofrtbaly in The Laurels. He is always smart, clean and presentable. The staff are always polite, kind and caring towards my father. He appears happy in his surroundings. Some of the evening food is a bit like party food which we've spoken to The Laurels about as it lacks nutrition and is too high in sugar for his diabetes. The floor supervisors do an excellent job looking after the residents and managing the staff.

The Laurels is a comfortable and caring home, I witness the affection of the staff with the residents every time I visit my mother. The food is lovely and plentiful. My mother recently had a visit to hospital. She was not cared for the same there and has made a huge recovery since being 'home' and under the care of the people who know her and treat her as family.
