A regular visitor and always looked after very well by all of the exceedingly helpful staff. - Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. The premises always appear clean and tidy, the food looks amazing and the staff project a happy and content demeanour. I visit a friend and ex work colleague of mine

John always seems happy, clean and well fed when we go to see him, which is every week. The staff always greet us with a smile, hello, and would you like a cuppa. If I have any concerns, I can always go to speak with the manager, whom will help as much as possible.

My wife and I visited our Sister-in Law-on Thursday the 13th of February 2025. We were greeted at the door and signed ourselves in on the tablet. A manager took us to her room, our relative was on bed rest, she looked clean, neat and tidy, and had a nice smile on her face. Her room was clean, warm
and bright, and it had everything she needed, including an en-suite. Seating was provided for us and we were offered a hot drink. We had a really nice visit, chatted with the managers as we left and signed out. The staff and managers at Winsford House are all pleasant and hardworking and they do a good job in looking after our relative. Thank you.

My mum was a resident at Winsford for the last 2 years of her life until her passing on Christmas Day 2023. During this time she was treated with care, patience, dignity and complete understanding from all the staff. She was always a happy person and this did not change at any time during her stay and
I believe this was due to the warm and friendly environment within the home. The care she received towards the end of her life was a great comfort to myself and all family members, and we were kept informed of her health every day and each hour when her time came. I cannot express my gratitude towards all the staff who kept me up to date with my mum's condition and will be forever grateful for the love and commitment they all showed towards my mum. Care homes are usually only ever in the spotlight for negative reports, but Winsford for me is a shining light within the Care Home establishments.

My father has advanced dementia so care is key, the right care. Winsford House are, in my opinion, fantastic. They care, their hearts are in it. I can't think of anywhere else I'd like my father to be. My wife and I cared for my father until we just couldn't and we were worried about finding the right
care home; we needn't have. Winsford House offers more than care for my father, they give me amazing peace of mind.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.111)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.111) out of 10 for Winsford Care Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.590 for Winsford Care Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.59
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.521 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Winsford Care Ltd is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.921
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
