Brendoncare Meadway

A big thankyou to you all. You made his last months happy ones (and he could be grumpy). It was a weight off my mind too to know he was being well looked after.

All staff treated me in a friendly and dignified manner, they all deserve a boquet of thanks

I have visited, but never stayed in a Care Home before but my health is such that I must seriously consider moving to one. My Bed Sitting Room is roomy, pleasantly furnished and sunny. My separate Shower Room with Toilet is coldish but well equipped. Meals are of high standard - varied, interesting and nutritious. Guests are welcomed. The staff are friendly and welcoming and seem to know what they are doing! I have seen little of the Activities yet. A very positive experience and I intent to move here permanently.

Since moving my 99 year old father into Meadway I have been delighted and reassured by the very caring staff and management. It is a small, personal care home, with lovely large light rooms. The food is home cooked, delicious and nutritious. Everyone is very friendly and my father is happy and has settled in well. Highly recommended.

Home responded very quickly to need, making assessment on next day to enable very speedy admission.

I like being solitary after a very busy and active life but I like it when the carers spend time talking to me and are friendly. I like the competitive items that the activities person brings to my room. I like having volunteers to chat to, including people of different ages and nationalities. I would like regular visits from the manager to discuss any issues that arise, and there are some difficulties in postage from here - I have to get my family to post things. I can now use a wheelchair for occasional visits out with family and I enjoy doing this. Bed poor.

So, lots of praise and no complaints!

There is nowhere like your own home but you will have a hard job to find anywhere nearer than Meadway.

Kind, helpful & caring staff. Clean and pleasant rooms adapted to the individual needs of residents. Particularly appropriate for residents who prefer a smaller more intimate home.

Very comfortable - informed my ground floor room. All staff doing their best looking after residents to keep us comfortable providing varied activities and diet. Ready to adapt to individual requirements.

My Mum is always happy to go to Meadway for respite care. She is greeted with a lovely welcome and the attention she received during her most recent stay was personalised and appropriate. Her room is comfortable and warm and she absolutely loves sitting in the beautiful garden when she can. It means that I can relax when we are away knowing she is well cared for

I'm very happy to see how well looked after my mum is. She's getting the care that she needs, in a really lovely place. The meals are delicious, and I see that her preferences are catered for. The place is immaculate and feels more like a guest house. Having seen her struggle at home, she has improved a lot since she moved here. Thanks to all the team for being so nice - it's a tough job.

My friend has been a resident at Meadway for the past five months and she is very happy there. I very much like the fact that it is so small - only ten residents. I am also very impressed by the friendliness of the carers. My friend's room is very nice and the sitting room and dining room downstairs have just been redecorated and look extremely nice and welcoming. The food is good and there are quite a lot of activities if the resident wants to take part. I went to a 'relatives' meeting' a couple of evenings ago and I was very impressed by how the manager led the meeting, gave us news about recent developments and answered any questions. So far, very good!

I would highly recommend this small but perfectly run care home.

The staff are friendly, extremely caring, always willing to help and treat my father with kindness and respect. Communication with management staff has been very easy and positive. My family and I would thoroughly recommend this home.

I am very grateful to the helpful and friendly staff at Meadway, who recently cared for my mother. She was made to feel welcome and looked after with kindness, compassion and always with her wellbeing in mind.

My mother-in-law has just received 8 weeks of respite care in Meadway. Her time there was so positive that ideally, she would have liked to have become a permanent resident. Unfortunately, her changing needs meant that she has had to move into a Brendoncare Home that could offer full nursing care. The Home Manager did everything she possibly could, going above and beyond to help meet our additional requirements and then ultimately the move into nursing care. The family really appreciate all of her assistance with the arrangements and preparation for the smooth, seamless move. My mother-in-law loved the friendly atmosphere, hugely helpful, kind staff and delicious meals. I would strongly recommend respite or permanent care in this beautiful little home. A real gem in the Brendoncare group of care homes. Thank you!
