Care Homes Owned by Brendoncare Foundation

Warm welcome at the desk. Staff members clearly knew my aunt, referred to her by name and gave me and my mother (her sister) an update on her health when we asked. We sat outside in the lovely garden and helped ourselves to tea as it had been explained how to do. We stayed for lunch which was freshly prepared and very nice. My aunt's room was clean and fresh. We left feeling very happy that she is being so well looked after in a very warm environment.

A couple of weeks ago I visited my elderly father on a Tuesday afternoon, he had just been invited to a cheese and wine tasting afternoon. The organiser Nish made it really special, only a handfull of the residents turned up but she went above and beyond to make it special. That is only one example of how great she is.

My sister moved into Brendoncare Meadway after suffering falls and feeling very confused. She accepted my advise to have a few weeks respite care. Within two weeks she had changed into a much happier person and decided that she would like to remain there and has settled in far better than I thought. The carers are always very kind and smiling and my sister is so much happier. The home is managed well and always clean and tidy.

The food was not up to standard to begin with (my mother has been living at Brendoncare for 1 year) but during the last few months has improved significantly. My mother appreciates having a choice of soup, for example, and the general standard of cooking is much better than a year ago! Well done to everyone.

I arrived very feeling very apprehensive about what to expect. Giving up my home and rehoming my gorgeous dog was a huge issue. I was greeted by a lovely care assistant who imeadiately put me at ease. I have been here several weeks now. I've been made to feel very much part of the household. I'm very happy and feel completely safe.

The home is lovely, clean and always warm. The food is too fancy for old people. They should just stick to mince, chicken, fish, gammon & beef. This is food they are use to. The staff are lovely and kind, very helpful and are always ready to talk. Really lovely place to end your days. I would recommend it to anyone.

There are always good numbers of staff on duty, all are kind and competent. This and a cheerful atmosphere reflect good management. A doctor is readily available. Residents' varied needs receive detailed attention. An imaginative programme of in-house entertainments and outings for more mobile residents is impressive. Outstanding domestic cleanliness and good cuisine.

My health has considerably improved since I moved here at the end of 2025. I am now able to restart activities that I used to enjoy. I feel confident enough to go out for, admittedly short, walks. I am pleased to be able to play music once again. All this is down to not having to organise everything myself. I don't have to shop or cook. Many of my health needs can be met without having to go off-site. I made the right decision to move here

My mother was accommodated by Brendoncare for a respite stay of 2 weeks. Throughout the process, from first show around visit, to various phone calls, their customer service was professional and friendly. The room was clean and homely and the day staff treated her very well. She was glad to be able to receive visitors which was important to her.

I go and visit a resident at Meadway about once a week. She has been there for about three years. What I like most is that the staff are friendly and they ALWAYS know how my friend is today - I find that very reassuring. The exterior and interior of the building always look well maintained and cared for. My friend's room is a very pleasant room, looking out over the quiet and well looked-after garden and it has an adjoining bathroom. I can't really comment on the food as I don't eat there but they seem to have a good range of activities and my friend is glad that a vicar comes once a month to offer Holy Communion. They could be better at renewing my friend's hearing aid batteries. Otherwise, I think my friend is well cared for and that she is happy there.

A lovely care home with very kind, helpful and caring staff. The home has wonderful facilities and beautiful outside grounds, creating a lovely environment. Overall, a great home with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

My mother is so well looked after when she needs care as she is 106 years old and all the carers have adopted her and all call her Amma which is her favourite name

In summary, I would say Meadway is very good, and a 4.5 out of 5

Meadway is a wonderful care home. It really is a home, not an institution. I first got to know it when my mother-in-law was a resident and experienced the superb personal care she received. Since then I have volunteered and now visit different residents weekly. The staff are always so kind and welcoming and gentle with their 'family'. There is such an atmosphere of love and support but also respect and dignity. If I ever need residential care, I know I would choose Meadway!

The organisation was very helpful to get Mum admitted at very short notice for respite care. It soon became clear that she would need End of Life care. Her room was comfortable, clean and peaceful with her own ensuite bathroom. She also had a fantastic view over the South Downs. Every member of staff from the domestics, kitchen and administrative staff were polite, helpful and kind at every contact and the nurses and care staff couldn't not have done more to make mum and our family feel cared for and reassured. I could not have wished for a bettersetting for such a sad event. The support received was phenomenal.

An unexpected bonus for me has been the support I have felt, after years of stress and worry. My elderly parent has a new lease of life and so do I!

Thank you to Natalie and Michael for helping to make this difficult transition as easy as possible and for fighting Mum's case with the authorities. Mum is very happy and settled at Brendon Care and enjoying the care all the staff are giving her, she feels part of a family!
