Warm welcome at the desk. Staff members clearly knew my aunt, referred to her by name and gave me and my mother (her sister) an update on her health when we asked. We sat outside in the lovely garden and helped ourselves to tea as it had been explained how to do. We stayed for lunch which was freshly prepared and very nice. My aunt's room was clean and fresh. We left feeling very happy that she is being so well looked after in a very warm environment.

My sister moved into Brendoncare Meadway after suffering falls and feeling very confused. She accepted my advise to have a few weeks respite care. Within two weeks she had changed into a much happier person and decided that she would like to remain there and has settled in far better than I thought. The carers are always very kind and smiling and my sister is so much happier. The home is managed well and always clean and tidy.

Managers have been helpful to me, for example in setting up a bank account where proof of my mother's address was required. I feel that I can speak to a member of the management team at any time and action will be taken if needed.
The food was not up to standard to begin with (my mother has been living at Brendoncare for 1 year) but during the last few months has improved significantly. My mother appreciates having a choice of soup, for example, and the general standard of cooking is much better than a year ago! Well done to everyone.

My health has considerably improved since I moved here at the end of 2025. I am now able to restart activities that I used to enjoy. I feel confident enough to go out for, admittedly short, walks. I am pleased to be able to play music once again. All this is down to not having to organise everything myself. I don't have to shop or cook. I go and visit a resident at Meadway about once a week. She has been there for about three years. What I like most is that the staff are friendly and they ALWAYS know how my friend is today - I find that very reassuring. The exterior and interior of the building always look well maintained and cared for. My friend's room is a very pleasant room, looking out over the quiet and well looked-after garden and it has an adjoining bathroom. I can't really comment on the food as I don't eat there but they seem to have a good range of activities and my friend is glad that a vicar comes once a month to offer Holy Communion. They could be better at renewing my friend's hearing aid batteries. Otherwise, I think my friend is well cared for and that she is happy there.

Our relative has been a resident for many months now. We have always been pleased with the care. All staff (management, carers, housekeeping, kitchen, activities, handyman) appear willing and helpful and friendly. There is a certain turnover of staff but perhaps that is difficult to avoid. A small and friendly home which has adapted well to my mother's changing needs over recent years. Typically, the managers, carers and supporting staff are warm and friendly and this positive ethos has been maintained despite a relatively high turnover of employees in recent years. Physical care provided is very good. Special events such as birthdays are very well supported by the whole team, which contributes to a generally high level of satisfaction with the service. As a regular visitor, I have found that senior team members engage positively with any questions or queries.
In summary, I would say Meadway is very good, and a 4.5 out of 5

The organisation was very helpful to get Mum admitted at very short notice for respite care. It soon became clear that she would need End of Life care. Her room was comfortable, clean and peaceful with her own ensuite bathroom. She also had a fantastic view over the South Downs. Every member of staff from the domestics, kitchen and administrative staff were polite, helpful and kind at every contact and the nurses and care staff couldn't not have done more to make mum and our family feel cared for and reassured. I could not have wished for a bettersetting for such a sad event. The support received was phenomenal.

My parent has been resident in Brendoncare for several months now. I chose this nursing home based on personal recommendation and am so very grateful for all the care he has received. He arrived in difficult circumstances and was immediately treated with kindness and respect, all the staff have gone above and beyond to demonstrate professional, competent, and appropriate daily support. The transition from fiercely independent to completely dependent has gone remarkably well. I did raise a concern about one aspect of care which was addressed promptly and effectively. The atmosphere at Brendoncare is very welcoming, airy and bright. I feel like I have a new extended family there. The recreational team are amazing, providing a range of activities to those who wish to join in and bedside chats to those who cannot, always with a smile.
An unexpected bonus for me has been the support I have felt, after years of stress and worry. My elderly parent has a new lease of life and so do I!
