Review of Brendoncare Meadway from Susan F (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother recently spent two weeks in Brendoncare Meadway in Respite Care and then decided to become a permanent resident. She has trialled other Care Homes and we have looked at many.
Brendoncare Meadway has 12 permanent residents. It has a very friendly, relaxed, homely feel about it. All of the staff at Brendoncare Meadway have been very welcoming and kind. Everyone has made Mum feel at home very quickly.
The kitchen staff have been outstanding. My mum has a gluten and dairy intolerance. They have dealt with this brilliantly and sensitively. They have a very organised kitchen and have baked Mum gluten free cakes etc and have never made her feel awkward or difficult.
Mum has a lovely big room with an amazing view and ensuite bathroom. She is able to furnish it how she wants with her own pictures on the wall etc.

She thought she would miss her garden but Brendoncare Meadway have a beautiful garden with lots of places where she can sit and read a book if she wants to.

Reply from Tayyaba Iqbal, Deputy Manager at Brendoncare Meadway
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that your mum feels happy and settled at Brendoncare Meadway.

I'm so grateful to St Giles View. They've been and continue to be so kind and thoughtful in caring for Dad. They work really hard to consider the needs of the residents - looking to create a programme and activities that help them feel settled and add interest. I've been really impressed by the steady stream of ideas and activities they come up with to create fun and connection for the residents. A huge thank you to Seva and all her team.

Review of Brendoncare Otterbourne Court from J S (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
After 2 and half years of my mother being a resident at Otterbourne Hill, I feel my
Mum is very settled. I know she feels safe with the carers and nursing staff by the way she chats about them.
Every resident is taken seriously and treated with such respect. The wellbeing of the residents is paramount, with regular trips out for coffee and during the current heatwaves ice cream too. I am reminded of these outings on my regular visits. With gentle persuasion and encouragement the team manage to get mum out, which she enjoys once she is out.

The themed afternoon tea was a real success. My mum told me herself that she enjoyed watching the regency dancing, we dressed her up in one of her best frocks and a fascinator and she looked lovely for the event. And of course she devoured the scones and cream. They also pulled the stops out for her birthday, making her feel very special. The whole team made time to write her a card which didn't go unnoticed by the family. Thank you.

Overall Experience
My mother has been at Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill for past two and half years suffering with Alzheimer's dementia and other medical issues. Since being in the home Mum has built up wonderful relationships with all the staff, who have got to know her very well. The care she receives is given with respect, sensitivity, patience and always in her best interest.
Overall the home is excellent, covering all aspects of living in a care home with good communication. It has a caring, understanding attitude, respect for both residents and relatives. It always appears happy welcoming to anyone who comes into contact with them. The staff are always striving to improve any issues in the running of the home.

Over the past two and half years I have come to know the home very well. I have given it five stars, as I know my Mum will see out the twilight of her years in a happy safe and caring environment. Thank you Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill.

Dad arrived at Meadway just after Xmas 2025 and settled straight in. Room with a view, good menu and excellent staff.
I usually would go for good as excellent is usually to strong a comment but in this case excellent fits.

A big thankyou to you all. You made his last months happy ones (and he could be grumpy). It was a weight off my mind too to know he was being well looked after.

My mother's room is always so clean, tidy and fresh. She appreciates the attention to detail given by A on each visit. In her words she says "it is a treat to live here." For me I feel mum is able to live in dignity especially also being dressed to be tidy and smart. A reflection of how she live her life

I spent 2 weeks at St Giles View for rehabilitation following an operation. I arrived feeling quite helpless & left in a much improved physical state. The staff in all their various roles, were kind, caring & cheerful. St Giles itself was amazing with its beautiful garden and incredible view. Thank you to all concerned.

Our Godmother has been in the home for the past 5 months. We have found the atmosphere in the home to be so friendly, with all the staff being approachable and helpful with any request and need that we bring up whether it be admin, a painting on the wall or concern about her pain, nothing seems too much trouble. My godmother is always saying how kind the staff are and we are so grateful for the professional care that they give. The home were also super supportive to us when we celebrated a birthday recently, helping to facilitate decoration and all that we needed, including a delicious cake, to host this in the cafe space. It is a lovely place to come and visit and also an easy place to leave our Godmother when we go as she seems very comforatable and at peace with the staff, friends and routine now that she has settled in. Many thanks to all there for creating this place.

Review of Brendoncare Alton from S U (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our Mum moved to independent living at Brendoncare eight years ago. She was independent and kept herself busy. When she needed more help the Close Care team were able to assist with her needs. She was really happy with the care and friendship they provided for her, she felt safe knowing she could call for assistance 24 hours a day.
When she became unwell and needed more care, she moved to the nursing home. This transition was smooth and easy for her as she was able to choose her own room and already knew some of the staff.
The care and consideration of her as a person during her time on Chawton was everything we as a family could have wished for. Everyone was helpful and supportive during her last few weeks which made it easier for us and Mum when she passed.

So a big Thank you to all at Brendoncare Alton.

Staff very welcoming and attentive during the 7 visits we made
Made a very special effort for Mum on her birthday with garlands, balloons and a cake with candles delivered as a group to a chorus of happy birthday

Mums meds were 60-90 minutes late one day which made Mum sick for a hour which we all struggled with. The carer in charge was very apologetic.

Reply from Seva Hashimova, Home Manager at Brendoncare St Giles View

I am pleased to hear that Mum enjoyed lovely birthday celebrations and the cake was appreciated. I am disappointed to hear that her medication was delayed on one occasion and that this caused her to feel unwell. I will investigate this and will take steps to ensure Mum's medication timings are closely adhered to in future.

I want to write this review because every member of staff who comes into my mother's life, makes such a massive difference and I want to say 'thank you'. From us selecting this care home, through sorting out the finances, through the many ups and downs of life with a parent with dementia, the staff at Otterbourne could not have done more for us and for mum. It brings such piece of mind to know that they really know her, meet her needs and support her. I can't get over, how often staff from other houses within Otterbourne say hello to my mum, naming her as if they all really know her. I'm so glad that we chose here for mum to live her life.

Our Mum has lived independently in one of BrendonCare's apartments for the past 12 years, receiving exactly the right level of care and support throughout her time there. Now, at the age of 93, she has recently moved from her independent apartment into BrendonCare's on-campus care setting, and our family is absolutely delighted with how smoothly the team has managed her transition.

She has settled in beautifully. It's clear she is enjoying her new life - living alongside fellow residents, surrounded by gentle, thoughtful support from the carers and nurses. The BrendonCare team have been unbelievable in their kindness, professionalism, and attention to her wellbeing.

We would not hesitate to recommend BrendonCare. All our family are deeply grateful for the care they have shown Mum and for the peace of mind they've given us.

Brendoncare provides an excellent standard of care for both my parents. Most importantly, the staff are caring and compassionate, and communicate details of my parents' well-being and treatment needs to me on a regular and timely basis. The home and the residents' rooms are modern and comfortable. The grounds are well tended and attractive. Brendoncare is continually investing in the maintenance of the building (new kitchens for instance in 2025), and gardens (currently undergoing major redesign). I feel a weight is off my shoulders knowing my parents are safe, comfortable and well cared for.
