Brendoncare St Giles View is a brand-new purpose built care home located on the top of a hill in the beautiful city of Winchester where residents can enjoy stunning views of the South Downs.

The home's 60 ensuite nursing and dementia care bedrooms are arranged into three households across three floors. There is a 24-hour nurse call system with call points in each bedroom and in the ensuite wet room. Some rooms have balconies; others have private outside space.

Each floor also has a kitchenette, lounges, outdoor space and theme quiet areas, perfect for reminiscing, chats with family or simply enjoying the view.

The décor uses design to help those living with dementia find their way around. It also reflects the leafy nature of the area, bringing the tranquil surroundings outside into the home.

The ground floor has a hair and beauty salon, café and community space with access to landscaped gardens commanding stunning views over the South Downs.

As well as nursing and dementia care, the home offers respite and end of life care and uses modern care technology, such as digital care plans and acoustic monitoring, to help deliver high quality care.

My mother's room is always so clean, tidy and fresh. She appreciates the attention to detail given by A on each visit. In her words she says "it is a treat to live here." For me I feel mum is able to live in dignity especially also being dressed to be tidy and smart. A reflection of how she live her
life

I spent 2 weeks at St Giles View for rehabilitation following an operation. I arrived feeling quite helpless & left in a much improved physical state. The staff in all their various roles, were kind, caring & cheerful. St Giles itself was amazing with its beautiful garden and incredible view. Thank
you to all concerned.

Our Godmother has been in the home for the past 5 months. We have found the atmosphere in the home to be so friendly, with all the staff being approachable and helpful with any request and need that we bring up whether it be admin, a painting on the wall or concern about her pain, nothing seems too
much trouble. My godmother is always saying how kind the staff are and we are so grateful for the professional care that they give. The home were also super supportive to us when we celebrated a birthday recently, helping to facilitate decoration and all that we needed, including a delicious cake, to host this in the cafe space. It is a lovely place to come and visit and also an easy place to leave our Godmother when we go as she seems very comforatable and at peace with the staff, friends and routine now that she has settled in. Many thanks to all there for creating this place.

The staff have been warm, welcoming and attentive. I always leave feeling my mother is safe and well looked after. I am hugely grateful
to all their efforts on her behalf. They are all champions.

Staff very welcoming and attentive during the 7 visits we made
Made a very special effort for Mum on her birthday with garlands, balloons and a cake with candles delivered as a group to a chorus of happy birthday
Mums meds were 60-90 minutes late one day which made Mum sick for a hour which we all
struggled with. The carer in charge was very apologetic.
Reply from Seva Hashimova, Home Manager at Brendoncare St Giles ViewI am pleased to hear that Mum enjoyed lovely birthday celebrations and the cake was appreciated. I am disappointed to hear that her medication was delayed on one occasion and that this caused her to feel unwell. I will investigate this and will take steps to ensure Mum's medication timings are closely adhered to in future.

I am so pleased that we found BrendonCare St Giles View for my father. He was only saying on my recent visit he appreciates how kind and caring everyone is. He also commented how everywhere is kept so clean. Since moving my father to St Giles View my concerns regarding his welfare have been alleviated,
the care received is outstanding. When I visit everyone is so very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the excellent staff, I cannot praise and express my gratitude to you all enough. Thank you.

We were impressed on our first visit and have not changed our view since. Mum took time to settle in but all the staff were kind and caring and actually persuaded her in the end (although she was reluctant to let her family know this!) The Home was very clean and comfortable, Mum enjoyed the activities
and made friends. We were also made welcome and enjoyed the cafe and cakes. It was nice that every staff member said hello to us and also knew Mum's name.
Reply from Seva Hashimova, Home Manager at Brendoncare St Giles ViewThank you very much for your 5 star review. It was so lovely to have your Mum, you and your family here as part of Brendoncare. Your Mum was very lovely and she will be much missed by the all team at St Giles View .

Dad's been at St Giles View for around six months now and has been settling in to his lovely bedroom with it's reaching view into the countryside and enjoys to spend time outside in the pretty garden with its seating area providing further views to the South Downs.
Dad looks now much better too and
is enjoying the food and very high level of friendly and thoughtful care for which I'm also very grateful. Much thought and work is seemingly also put in to the overall care and provision of activities.
During a recent visit just before Christmas when it was also Dad's Birthday there was Christmas carols and also cake too, we did enjoy to celebrate with Dad and always feel welcomed when we visit and is always spotlessly clean and a nice friendly atmosphere.

I am very grateful for the care and consideration shown to my mother in her last two years when she was increasingly frail which coincided with her move from another care home to St Giles. In Nov. 2025 my mother reached 100 (which she had been determined to do) and in spite of her frailness she was
able to enjoy the day thanks to her carers. We had a small champaigne party and a delicious cake baked in the home's kitchens. Sadly just over a month later she died peacefully thanks to the good care she received, and I also greatly appreciated the kind attentions I received at that time.

I came - for the first time - for a brief visit and was very impressed by everything. I was late and was such a warm welcome and a meal, my friend's room is lovely, the communal areas are light and spotlessly clean.
I didn't see any activities though was told there had been a quiz that morning; and
I've no idea what my friend is paying.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.812)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.812) out of 10 for Brendoncare St Giles View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.812 for Brendoncare St Giles View is calculated as follows: ( (311 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 372 Ratings = 4.812
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brendoncare St Giles View is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Customer Experience Manager Joined: 2017

I have an excellent knowledge of the care sector having worked in social care since 2013, firstly as a specialist dementia CareGiver and then as a community support and engagement Manager. I joined Brendoncare in 2017 as the first Customer Relations Manager and have been involved in the opening of Otterbourne Hill and, most recently, St Giles View. My role involves offering support and advice to anyone looking for care for themselves or their loved ones and ensuring that their move goes as smoothly as possible. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks with my dog ‘Torvi’ and spending time with family. I am also a trained singer and used to run a dementia-friendly choir.

Job Title: Deputy Clinical Lead Joined: 2025

I joined Brendoncare St Giles View in September 2025, and it has been a highly supportive environment where I’ve been able to grow both professionally and personally.

After successfully completing my probation, I was given the opportunity to undertake the Level 5 Leader in Adult Care qualification, which reflects the organisation’s commitment to staff development.

The team is fantastic—supportive, dedicated, and always working together toward a shared goal: improving the quality of life for residents every single day.
