The home's biggest asset is its staff who provided amazing care for mum at all times, including the end of life
Thanks to the Brendon Meadway team we will always be grateful.
Thank you Pamela for such a wonderful review, our condolences to you and your family. Thank you for allowing us to come to mums service. It was our absolute pleasure to look after your mum, Always remember you, will always remain a part of our Meadway family!
I am very grateful to the helpful and friendly staff at Meadway, who recently cared for my mother. She was made to feel welcome and looked after with kindness, compassion and always with her wellbeing in mind.
My mother-in-law has just received 8 weeks of respite care in Meadway. Her time there was so positive that ideally, she would have liked to have become a permanent resident. Unfortunately, her changing needs meant that she has had to move into a Brendoncare Home that could offer full nursing care. The Home Manager did everything she possibly could, going above and beyond to help meet our additional requirements and then ultimately the move into nursing care. The family really appreciate all of her assistance with the arrangements and preparation for the smooth, seamless move. My mother-in-law loved the friendly atmosphere, hugely helpful, kind staff and delicious meals. I would strongly recommend respite or permanent care in this beautiful little home. A real gem in the Brendoncare group of care homes. Thank you!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to review. It was our pleasure to have you with us in the Meadway family. We wish you all the very best on the next chapter of your journey with Brendoncare.
I visit this resident every week, finding her content here. Grateful to Meadway.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, we're very grateful for your feedback on your experience from your weekly visits.
Wonderful. The culture of kindness and compassion hits you on arrival. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing. The foods is very good and all of one's little food fads are catered for. My room is a good size with a pleasant busy view and the grounds are lovely. Perhaps there could be more items that are recycled, e.g. tinfoil for charity.
Thank you. It was our absolute pleasure to have you stay with us. Thank you for choosing us to help you on your road to recovery. Your gift was a lovely surprise and displayed in the lounge for all to admire. Your quick wit is missed by all and we would welcome you back with open arms at any time....
A loyal staff makes this home very special. They are adaptable affording us a unique service. Together with a well managed home, their enthusiasm results in a group of happy elderly people.
Thank you, Dorothy, for your review. It's our pleasure to have you here at Meadway during these past 8 years. And here's to many, many more years filled with laughter, wit, your sarcasm and naughty sense of humour.
My father has been a resident at Meadway for just over a year now, and I cannot praise the staff there enough. Nothing is ever too much trouble, the standard of care is excellent, and Dad is so happy. It has been especially comforting that he has been there during these difficult Covid times - it has taken a great weight off my mind as I don't have to worry about him being in his house on his own. I was looking back at photos of him today from around the time he entered the home and recent ones, and the difference is amazing - he has come on in leaps and bounds! I would absolutely recommend Meadway to anyone.
Thank you so much for your review and such lovely, kind words. It’s an absolute pleasure to have your Dad with us at Meadway, he’s such a character! He and yourself are very much big parts of our Meadway family.
Meadway has many advantages of being small compared to other care homes since January 2018. I've had truly little to complain of. The staff in every role all work well together. Visitors comment on the warm, caring spirit here. We can all now and then have a good laugh together. Meals are excellent wholesome full of variety and individual choices are easily achieved by the willing chefs. The new manager is busy getting to know all us residents and inspires confidence. I value the monthly C/E Communion service held there.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, its an absolute pleasure to have you as part of our Brendoncare Meadway family and we look forward to the future and what it holds.
My mother has been at Brendoncare Meadway for five months. My wife and I have been very impressed with the care and attentiveness of the staff, and the ambience and cleanliness of the home. We now volunteer there. We feel our efforts are appreciated by residents and staff alike. We would commend this home as of a high standard.
Thank you Trevor for your kind words and taking the time to review Meadway. It is also a pleasure to have you as part of our volunteer team and we are grateful for your time.
Mum initially went to Meadway for respite care after a nursing home stay and four years later she's still there. She has a lovely, bright, spacious room and is surrounded by her own furniture and possessions.
But, as nice as the surroundings are, it's the warm, friendly and highly capable staff that make the place. Mum has always been fiercely independent and the staff support this, but they're on hand if needed. The food is excellent and the staff are always happy to make something special for mum if she doesn't like or fancy what's on the menu. Without fail, the staff are always welcoming when we visit, offering tea or coffee (and sometimes homemade cake!) it feels more like a large family home than a care home.
Such a relief for the family, we're able to relax knowing that mum is well cared for and safe.
We enjoy having your Mum living with us and good to hear that you feel she is being cared for in a caring and individual way. Thank for taking the time to give a review – we really appreciate it.
Meadway is a homely, non-institutional home with a small number of residents which makes a friendly atmosphere.
I am delighted you are experiencing the special homely atmosphere at Meadway. Thank you for taking the time to review us.
This week three of her dearest friends came to visit my mum at Meadway. They were warmly welcomed with coffee, followed by a delicious lunch. Our friends were thrilled with my mum’s light, bright bedroom, filled with furniture and pictures from “home”. They kept commentating on how fresh, clean and bright the whole building was. They loved the garden, which they knew would always be an important contributor to my mum’s quality of life. There was great interaction with the staff and everyone had such a happy time.
I believe our friend's opinion of what a care home was was totally changed by their experience at Meadway. But, most importantly they were so thrilled to find my mum happy and settled and to see “the old .....laughing lots”.
Thank you, Beverly, for taking the time to review Meadway. It is lovely to have your Mum settled and living with us and wonderful to hear that her friends saw her happy and the ‘old’ her and enjoyed their visit.
Having worked at as General Practitioner I have encountered many different residential homes and care settings and can say without a doubt that we have been extremely fortunate in having found a place for my mother at Meadway. It is a small care home, and as soon as you go through the front door you can sense how homely, relaxed and caring the environment is. The staff are attentive and experienced and take demands and difficulties in their stride. The food is excellent and individually tailored to the residents' wishes, and my mother is now eating a lot better and is delighted with the standard. There are comfortable places to sit, both inside and in the lovely gardens. The care is methodical and organised but flexible when necessary, and the staff are proactive in looking for extra ways to help. The manager is excellent, shows experience, commitment and sensitivity, and is respected by the staff. They are happy, work well as a team and are rightly proud of the care they offer.
Thank you, for your kind review. We are enjoying having your mother with us and am pleased that she is now eating better and enjoying the care and homely environment.
Meadway is a very special place. Small, homely, very personal with a wonderful atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and residents make them individual and like home. The public rooms are light, airy and not at all institutional. Lovely gardens. But what makes Meadway is the staff - without exception, caring, loving, relaxed, patient and kind - from the manager and administrator, through to the carers, cooks, cleaners and handyman. They take time with every resident and are always smiling and cheerful. They go the extra mile to cater for any individual requests or alternative food requests. They respond promptly day and night. My relative has settled very happily and is very happy with the staff and home. I cannot recommend highly enough! - so different from our previous experience of a very stylish but much larger home which despite high standards of care, fulfilling all the necessary standards, somehow lacked the personal touch of Meadway. This is 'home' rather than just a 'care home'.
Thank you, Lysbeth, for your kind review and we are delighted to hear that your relative has settled well and is enjoying the care, friendliness and family feel of our small home.
So impressed was I that the very next morning I telephoned to reserve a place for myself.
Thank you so much for your review of Brendoncare Meadway. It was lovely to meet you and we look forward to you becoming part of the Meadway family.
Although I have been in this post only 7 months, the manager seems keen that I am involved in the life of the home.
My assessment is based only on visiting and observations during visits.
Thank you for your review of Brendoncare Meadway and for all that you do to support our residents. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
I have been extremely happy with the care my mother has had in this home where she has been for the past 8 years. The staff have been very kind, caring and attentive to her needs, especially in the last few months when she has needed extra care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to others.
Thank you so much for your review of Brendoncare Meadway. It is an absolute pleasure to be looking after your amazing mum.
From the first day she arrived to have lunch with her new friends, the warmth and care shown made her feel part of the family straight away, and upon our return, she was very well settled in and there was no question of her not wanting to stay permanently.
Mum loves the food, the staff, and the company and also now the weather is improving being able to potter around the lovely garden.
We would recommend BrendonCare to everyone if you want what's best for your loved ones as well as peace of mind for the whole family.
Thank you for your feedback about Brendoncare Meadway and your very kind words. We are delighted that your mum feels happy and well cared for at Meadway and that we are able to provide the right environment and care to suit her. We wish all the best to you and your family and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Brendoncare Meadway.
Brendoncare Meadway has a lovely feeling to it. When you walk in, it smells fresh and clean. There is a calm kind atmosphere. All the staff I have met are kind and polite. I am confident my Aunt receives great care. However, there are a number of minor issues that cause my Aunt stress. She is afraid to mention them as she does not want to be seen as a trouble maker. These issues are very minor but if addressed would improve my Aunt's life. These are:
When her clothes come back from the laundry they are still damp so she has to dry them on her radiator in her room;Fresh napkins are not provided at supper time and are reused from lunch. My Aunt has seen residents blow their nose on napkins and these are reused not necessarily by the same resident.
There are very little activities run for the residents. They are often left to entertain themselves. Activities that are supposed to the run often are not.
Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback about Brendoncare Meadway. Thank you for your kind words about the home. We have discussed your concerns with our housekeeping and activity teams and are confident that these have now been resolved. Please be assured that if your aunt has any...
Brendoncare Meadway is working well for my mother and her family. I am happy that she is safe and cared for, albeit my mother does not always make it easy. The staff are good (indeed some excellent), though there are some ups and downs. An improved understanding of the relationship between bodily medical problems and state of mind might be helpful to all. Management could be seen to be out and about more rather than sitting behind a computer. The one area of real concern that I have is the centralised Brendoncare accounting service, which I find distinctly amateur.
Thank you for your review and taking the time to send in your feedback about Brendoncare Meadway. We are delighted to hear that you feel your mother is safe and well cared for. We have noted your other comments and would like to assure you that the manager is available whenever she is on site,...

Meet the Team (3)

My name is Tayyaba Iqbal and known as Mona. I am honoured to serve as the Deputy Manager at Brendoncare Meadway. With over 16 years of experience in health and social care, I have developed a deep understanding of elderly care. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals, ensuring they live with dignity, respect, and comfort.
I have extensive experience working within a variety of care settings, collaborating closely with teams to create person-centred care plans that cater to the unique needs of each resident.
As a leader, I believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration. I am passionate about empowering staff to reach their full potential, fostering an environment where continuous learning and professional growth are encouraged. I am also committed to maintaining high standards of care and implementing innovative practices that enhance the overall quality of life for our residents.
Outside work I enjoy doing yoga, walking and gardening.

I have worked in the care sector for 36 years starting in a geriatric hospital, I loved every minute of my career working my way through many aspects of nursing, dementia, domiciliary and now residential care. Recently due to health I have stepped away from the care aspect but did not want to leave it altogether, so I find myself at the slightly less hectic pace of housekeeping, but still within a job I love, looking after people who need that little extra help. I have been with Brendoncare Meadway since 2022 and every day is like working at home.

I loved Meadway as soon as I stepped into the care home as it has a lovely atmosphere. Being a small care home I am really able to tailor the menu choices to the residents.
The highlight of my day is talking to the residents and getting feedback on any of the home-cooked meals they’ve just eaten, whether that was breakfast, lunch or even afternoon tea or snacks.
When I am not at work my hobbies are crafts with sea glass or mosaics.
