Since my mother has been with Rotherbank Residential Care Home she is very happy and extremely well look after. The staff are all very friendly and caring. My brothers and I are really grateful for all of the hard work and care Mum is getting at Rotherbank Residential Care Home.

Pre Covid when I could visit freely, it was nice to sit and chat and I was always impressed with the rapport staff have with residents, I always felt warmly welcomed. I like that there are no agency staff and very little turnover so everyone knew Mum well. There was never any feeling of regimentation at Rotherbank, if Mum didn’t feel like breakfast early, she could have something later. If lunch didn’t appeal there was always an alternative and the staff soon learn individual likes and dislikes. When Covid hit it was a huge relief to be confident that Mum was receiving such great care when I was unable to visit. Sadly, during the pandemic, entertainment options were dramatically reduced, but Mum really enjoyed the Christmas show the previous year and there was always something going on be it hatching chicks or a singsong! I am so grateful that we found Rotherbank for Mum and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone whose relative requires residential care.

My mother came to Rotherbank directly from the hospital, so I didn't get a chance to view the care home first. However, any concerns I might have had were soon put to rest. Rotherbank is well managed, and the staff are friendly and helpful who always make time for you.

My mother is well cared for, and over the months, has settled in and seems content.

Rotherbank has a homely and welcoming atmosphere. Once Mum settled in, she was always happy when I visited or phoned, which was a great comfort to me. The staff are always positive and cheerful - they know their residents well and are able to cater to their individual needs. The home is very well-managed and consults and communicates closely with the families. I have always had every confidence that my mother was being extremely well cared for and I would have no hesitation in recommending Rotherbank to others.

Rotherbank care home made an immediate impression on myself and my husband when we were trying to find the right home for my mother. No appointment was required to visit. We felt very welcome during this initial meeting and subsequent visits. The home felt warm, it was decorated in cheerful colours and there was a lovely atmosphere between the staff and residents. It was very reassuring to find out that the staff turnover was low and agency staff were not required. We felt truly fortunate that Mum was offered the only vacant room available at that time. The coronavirus pandemic changed our ability to freely visit Mum. When governmental guidelines allowed, I was welcomed back to see Mum again (with all the relevant safety procedures in place). My only comfort during these periods of lockdown is that I know Mum is in a lovely home with kind and caring people looking out for her. The staff have continued to be cheerful throughout this difficult time for which we are truly grateful.

Mum has lived at Rotherbank for a few years now and our family couldn’t be happier with the care she receives. It feels like a real home from home. The staff are friendly, approachable and welcoming. When we were initially looking at residential care for Mum, we were really keen to find somewhere which had a family feel, which didn’t use agency staff and the carers treat their residents as part of a family. Rotherbank ticked all these boxes and have continued to offer exceptional care for Mum. The Covid pandemic brought obvious difficulties but the management and team have dealt with it in a really professional but sympathetic way, managing to set up secure and safe visiting options where and when possible. What they have managed to achieve and the personal sacrifices they have made to keep everyone safe is quite humbling. Mum recently celebrated her 90th birthday and they really went over and above to ensure she had a lovely day despite lockdown. Thank you all.

Rotherbank provides a relaxed and homely atmosphere for all the residents. The staff are a team of dedicated and well-trained people who are kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Family and visitors are welcomed by familiar faces as staff turnover is very low. Communication with family is excellent.

It’s almost a year since the Covid 19 pandemic started and I have been very impressed with arrangements made to protect the residents and staff at Rotherbank. All the guidelines appear to be followed, whilst every effort has been made to encourage family contact with Covid secure visits arranged (when they were allowed) and video calls without prior warning. You always are welcomed and not made to feel that you are interrupting or inconvenient. Mum is doing well and remains happy and contented. As a family, we are very happy with the care Mum receives and can’t thank the Rotherbank team enough for making us all involved and welcome. They have also gone the ‘extra mile’ to accommodate my 95-year-old dad’s visits to Mum when he was able to attend and made sure he was comfortable and informed. There is such a ‘home from home’ feel at Rotherbank - and we all feel part of the family.

We have been so lucky to have found Rotherbank for mum's care. The staff are amazing and so caring and the home has a real family feel to it. Mum is always happy and calm when we visit which is nice to see. She is always treated as a person and involved in any conversations we may have with the staff. There is also a great range of activities to keep the residents active. In the better weather, there is a lovely garden for mum to go into and enjoy the sun. Throughout the pandemic, the home has put the residents first and we could not have asked for better care and communication during this time. I am grateful to all the staff for what they do and couldn't ask for a more caring care home.

We have always been very happy with the treatment of our mother. Rotherbank have looked after at least 3 of our mother's friends and our recommendation.
The staff are caring and considerate and we have total faith in them.

The majority of the staff have remained for the full 5 years that our mother has resided at Rotherbank. Residents need consistency.

My father entered the home in October 2018 and despite our concerns quickly settled into this excellent home. This ensured that my father was given excellent treatment and care during the five months until his death. The staff, led by an excellent manager, give exemplary service to the residents and make the lives of the residents, most of whom are seriously ill with dementia, as happy and secure as possible.

Without doubt, Rotherbank is an excellent home and I have no hesitation in giving this home my highest accolade. Well done.

I found Rotherbank following personal recommendations from several people, including health professionals.
It is a truly welcoming and friendly care home, with a genuine family atmosphere. Lots of stimulating activities for the residents and celebrations of seasonal events including individual birthdays. Very good home cooked meals.
Very kind and caring staff who all know and respect the resident's individual wishes and are very well trained to anticipate needs. Visitors are always welcomed with a smile and an offer of tea or coffee.
Spotlessly clean and attractively presented rooms and gardens.

I am so grateful that we found Rotherbank. Having had personal experience of having arranged care for close relations in four other care homes, (not in this area) this is definitely the best on all counts.

All of the carers are friendly and kind. When my grandmother sadly passed away the carers treated her with dignity and respect. They were so supportive of the whole family as well.

Rotherbank is a small, family-run home and has a real homely feel. Thank you for providing excellent care for my grandmother.

Rotherbank offers a lovely light, modern environment, which feels very welcoming and homely, and I was pleased to see how quickly my mother settled in. She has lived comfortably at Rotherbank for five years now and is very content there. Management and staff have all been friendly, kind and caring, helpful and understanding as her dementia advances and it is clear that she has grown to be very fond of them all. My mother's happiness speaks volumes about the excellence of all the staff and I know that, if only she could, she would thank them for their care from the bottom of her heart.
