White Lodge Care Home

My mother has been resident here for over two years now and is settled and well cared for. The staff have got to know her, her likes and dislikes and treat her with affection as well as respect. Her interaction with other residents is minimal, so her good relationship with the staff is particularly important and they are a great asset to the home. Family can and do visit her frequently and are always made welcome and kept well informed.

Under relatively new ownership, the only outward change is the redecoration of the building both inside and out.

My mother spent seven weeks in this home and was very happy. The care she received could not be faulted. All staff were pleasant, smiling, and friendly even giving the residents a hug, tucking them into bed and being attentive to any needs. The rooms are warm, comfortable and pleasant. Food was good and available at any time of the day or night. When my mother was not well someone sat in her room with her. She considered them all as friends. A perfect place for her to spend her last weeks of life.

Staff friendly and always welcoming. Mum has been cared for in every way since she came to Whtie Lodge in 2016. We only had one cause for complaint and this was dealt with straight away by the manager. We are very happy with the care mum receives at White Lodge. White Lodge offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, clean, tidy and fun activities on offer for all. Plus excellent family days. No TV point in mum's room.

White Lodge is a lovely house and the owners and staff do all they can to make this place a real home from home. The two lounges both overlook the well-maintained gardens, one with TV and the other a quiet room. The dining room is set out to resemble a cafe and the food is always plentiful and varied. For those who don't eat at meal times, the staff do all they can to entice eating by providing ample healthy snacks. Individual rooms vary from size to having en-suite amenities but all are well maintained and have windows overlooking gardens or the parking area. First-floor access by lift or stairs.

They have regular entertainment, visits from hairdressers, chiropodist, opticians and the local GP's are always on standby and are called immediately a medical problem is noticed.

It's not easy leaving a loved one in the care of someone else. White Lodge is a happy place and more like a friendly hotel, yes it is expensive but for 24hr care and peace of mind it's worth it.

He enjoys his meals and I know he could if he wanted, participate in the social activities offered.

My friend has been in White Lodge for 3 months and is very happy and always complimentary about the way she is treated, the care taken over her diet and the way her room is managed/maintained.

A well run home, All the staff know what they are doing. The relationship with residents is excellent. A lovely garden which is accessible. A warm and caring home.

The relatives of residents are always readily welcomed and kept informed of the resident's health and concerns. There are occasional visiting singers, little theatre groups and musicians as well as in-house activities such as bingo, keep fit, crafts and quizzes. It would be good if there were more staff at times both carers and people involved in occupying the residents time.

The house is clean and well maintained, and the gardens are a lovely asset.

Mum has stayed at White Lodge on two occasions now and has settled in very well. Our whole family has found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The staff are loving and caring to both the people who live there and the relatives. The accommodation is excellent feeling more like a happy hotel rather than a care home. The gardens are a wonderful place in the summer and the extensive range of activities laid on is appropriate and varied. Having a relative in a care home is never something that one would wish for but White Lodge makes the experience so much better to come to terms with. We cannot fault the care Mum is receiving and we would like to thank the staff so much for all their hard work and dedication.

We are very happy with white lodge. Mum has been there since April 2014. The staff are very helpful and friendly which has helped mum settle in well. Her room has been helped buy putting some of her things that she has brought with her. The garden & lounge areas are lovely.
