Staff at Meadow House took such special care of my Mum. They got to know her well, and approached her care as an individual person. Dealing with mum's more difficult moments we'll and enjoying sharing a joke and a smile with her. The staff were excellent at monitoring her health and responding accordingly
and quickly. Everyone at Meadow House seems to go above and beyond and gave my mum the best 2 last years of her life
I thank them all sincerely

At 94 years old Mum had lived in her own home on her own for many years. Following a couple of falls & a hospital stay she decided that she would no longer feel safe at home & that she had gotten used to being looked after. We set about looking for a new home for Mum, we visited dozens of homes but
non seemed to be right until we found Meadow House. From the moment we stepped in the door we were welcomed by Alina the Manager & given a tour, luckily a room was available & Mum moved in quickly, she soon settled in finding her preferred chair in her preferred lounge. Mum enjoyed the food & ate better than she had for years, with her medication & personal care managed we were able to relax knowing she was being well looked after. The family visited Mum daily. The home was always calm, spotlessly clean & well staffed. Sadly Mum passed away this year. We cannot praise or thank Alina & her team enough for the care & compassion shown to our Mum & to us, her family, through to the end.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the nursing home that cared for our mum over the past 17 years. Your kindness, patience, friendship, and dedication meant so much to her and to our family. The love and support you showed throughout her time there gave her comfort, dignity,
and a true sense of home. We will always be deeply grateful for the care you gave her.

My mum had come to the home a few years ago and was very happy from day one. The staff and other residents were very welcoming. During visits my mum would say, and I quote "what a laugh we had today".
The staff were always welcoming me when I visited and making me a coffee and sometimes a sandwich.
As my mums dementia progressed the staff remained very attentive and provided me with up dates via email or when I visited.
It was hard as I work a long way from home, in my mums final months she became bed bound and there was little communication but the staff remained permanently positive.

I can openly say my mums final years were made the best they could possibly be and me and my family are so happy that Carol spent her last years at Meadow House.
Thank you to Alina and all the staff at the home. Xx

Couldn't have found a better home for my dad. As soon as we walked through the door we knew we had found a home from home for him. The management and staff have created a family atmosphere which was a joy to see every time we visited (daily). Dad was well kept, his room was always clean and tidy.
It's
incredible the activities the staff got the residents involved in. My dad even got the chance to spend the day on a boat, travelling over to the Isle of Wight and back. That was a highlight for him in his final year.
Dad had dementia and at times he was rather difficult concerning eating and drinking. The staff were always on hand with encouragement, making him different things to try and tempt him to eat. Dad felt that all the staff were his personal friends. Caring home, value for money, peace of mind. Very caring professional team at Meadow House.

My Dad was looked after really well while he was in their care. The staff put their residents at the foremost of everything they do and nothing is too much trouble. Dad was well supported by all the staff at Meadow House and they were really good at encouraging him to maintain his independence. The
atmosphere in the home is one of a happy and caring family and Dad was certainly happier being in their care. Dad had dementia and as it progressed, they supported him brilliantly. They also supported us, the family, too and we can't thank them enough. It was very reassuring knowing that he was getting the best care and attention when we were not around. I cannot thank them enough, without their care and expertise Dad's final years would not have been so good. Thank you Meadow House, you are all brilliant!

My Mum has been resident at Meadow House for just under a year now and the care has been amazing. Mum can be very difficult at times and the staff and management step up evey time to ensure the best care that works for Mum. It is a warm friendly place where the staff always say hello and are happy to
assist with anything.
The food provided is good and appetising and the staff are willing to make adjustments when Mum is being 'fussy' about the meal on offer.
There are regular activities and even trips out if Mum is up to it. Every month I am updated via a newsletter and when I visit I am given verbal updates also.
I am so happy that Mum is now in a safe and friendly environment after not coping well at home and ending up in hospital for a spell.
I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this care home. Thank you so much to the team at Meadow House.

My Mum has been very well looked after here for many years. As her dementia has progressed Meadow House has stepped up at every stage to give her the best possible care that is exactly right for her. It is a very cozy, friendly place, always kept very clean, with all residents washed and dressed appropriately.
The manager and the carers are excellent. They understand and adhere to all regulations around safeguarding and patient care. The food is good and appetizing. Every effort is made to make sure that the residents are eating and drinking well. Attention is paid to activities and relatives receive a monthly newsletter giving details. Above all, it is a very happy and caring home. The senior team has all been there a long time with very little staff turnover, which we feel is very positive and indicative that all is well and that they run a 'happy ship'. I definitely recommend this care home.

My grandmother has been a resident for a couple of years after not looking after herself properly at home and following a spell in the hospital where she was diagnosed with Dementia. She was quite frail and had lost weight. She is very elderly. We, my wife and I have visited a number of times and have
noticed a great improvement in Nan's condition, and she is doing well. Nan's needs are all being met, and the staff appear caring, friendly and polite when Nan becomes frustrated. We are pleased with the state of the areas we have seen, and the place has a friendly feel. We have always been welcomed and offered refreshments and are given updates on Nan's condition. We feel very pleased with Meadow House Residential Home and the excellent staff, and wish to say thanks.

All I can say is the staff are amazing. Always friendly and helpful and I know my mum is being taken care of which makes me feel relaxed about my mum being in a care home. They always treat my mum with dignity and when Mum can be difficult, they totally understand her condition and do their best to
calm her and make her feel relaxed. As for visiting, it is just a case of calling the home and telling them I’ll be there shortly and I’m welcomed at the front door with a smile and taken to see Mum who always looks clean and tidy.

I have found the home to be very caring and helpful in looking after my mother and in keeping me informed. I know she is being well cared for which helps me not have to worry. They take care of all her medical needs and explain things to her when she is confused, which happens often as she has dementia.
I have found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. She is always kept clean and her clothing also, which is not something she could do for herself when living in her own home.

My mum went to the care home in August 2020 after many spells in the hospital. She wasn't looking after herself at home, she wasn't eating properly although she would say she had, she wasn't washing and would sleep in her armchair at night and refused to go to bed. It was a real worry for us all as
she was losing weight and was very confused. The staff at the home have been wonderful, especially as it has been such a difficult time but they are really patient with her, even when she gets difficult. She looks so much better now, she has put on weight and it is so good to know she has someone there to look after her and also for her company, while still being able to go to her own room if she wants some time alone. I don't get to visit my mum very often as I live in Surrey and I am struggling to cope after my husband died, so it is such a relief to know she is being well cared for.

It became apparent in 2021 that my aunt required more care than we could provide. We visited many care homes in the area and were becoming more and more concerned that we would be unable to find one to suit my aunt's needs. We arranged to visit Meadow House Residential Home and, from the moment we walked
through the front door, we knew it was the one. The staff were very welcoming, the home was so bright and clean, and the room on offer was exactly what we were looking for. In the short time, my aunt has been there, she has blossomed. The staff, the care, the accommodation, the food and the activities are excellent. We believe that we couldn't have found anywhere better and would have no hesitation in recommending Meadow House Residential Home.

As my mother has been a resident for over ten years now, she has become more reliant on the staff as her physical health has worsened and is having to be moved around using a hoist. This causes Mum to get frustrated at her inability to be more independent. My mother has benefited from the art and craft
sessions that a member of staff provides, and the family appreciate that. Mum is more talkative when we take her out on Saturdays and she enjoys the food that is provided, especially the liver and onions. We, as a family, realise that Meadow House Residential Home is the best rest home for her, and our interactions with the staff certainly make us happy and satisfied that Mum is in good hands. Keep doing what you do, there is no need to change as nothing is broken.

My mum was a resident at Meadow House from 2008 and it was her world. I know she loved it there and, just as important, she was loved by everyone who works there.
In the early years, my mum took part in all of their activities and she had a great time - I had to schedule my visits around her! In the
last years of her life, even though my mum was bedbound and unable to communicate, she was never forgotten. Someone always had lunch and dinner with her (the food is amazing!). She regularly had her hair done, manicures and pedicures.
I would never have got through any of Mum’s “trials and tribulations” without everyone there and I mean everyone especially as Mum’s condition deteriorated.
The facilities are great, the home is ultra-clean, the staff are lovely, caring and understanding. I am in awe of every single person who works there - I know I couldn’t do any of their jobs. I never heard a raised voice from anyone; staff or residents.
I don’t have a negative thing to say.

My relative has been a resident at Meadow House for over 6 years. The care she has received has been exemplary in every way. All the staff at Meadow House have been professional, efficient, and above all, tender and caring. I have not once heard a voice raised in anger or frustration. There is a cheerful,
atmosphere, and visitors are warmly welcomed. The home was always warm, and clean, and has an ongoing programme of redecoration and upgrading when necessary. The food was also a source of enjoyment and appreciation. When she was able, she was encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities, which she loved. Earlier in her residency, she was supported and encouraged in her ventures out with friends and family. She was definitely as happy living at Meadow House as she could have been anywhere, given her age and infirmities. As she became more unwell and frail, she was carefully nursed with love and care until her peaceful departure.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.635)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.635) out of 10 for Meadow House Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Meadow House Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (100 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Meadow House Residential Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
