The home cares for an 80yr old gentleman who has severe learning difficulties well beyond the needs of dementia. The gentleman has no remaining family. My wife and I have been family friends for 60years.There is no one else.
After a very nervous initial placement we are almost a year further on and
have to say that care has been excellent and have no complaints whatsoever. Please bare in mind here that "our" situation here is quite unusual and the care home has had to learn much whilst 'on the hoof' so as to speak.
They have kept us informed of all needs and are fully approachable on any subject ranging from financial matters to hospital day care appointments. There are numerous interactive sessions which keep residents active including outdoor groups and special 'days away'.
What the home lacks in lavish facilities (swimming pools, saunas, hydro's e.t.c.) is more than made up for by the mgt and staff who are professional, attentive and proactive and dare I say, happy in their work.

Mum moved into the care home in early December. During this time, she's been extremely well looked after, all the carers are excellent and treat mum and all the other residents with so much dignity and compassion. Mum was ill, and a doctor was soon called and appropriate medication given, a really quick
service. I'm very happy where mum is and have peace of mind knowing she is safe and well looked after, as are all the residents. I'm very impressed with the management team and carers. Thank you.
Reply from Kasim Scally, Manager at Airedale Residential & Dementia HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We are truly grateful for your kind words.

We are delighted to hear that your mum has settled well since moving in and that you have felt reassured by the care and support she has received. Our team works very hard to ensure every resident is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, so your feedback means a great deal to both our carers and management team.

We're also pleased to know that you felt supported during a difficult time when your mum was unwell and that the response and medical care met your expectations. Providing families with peace of mind is incredibly important to us.

Thank you again for your trust and confidence in our home. Please don't hesitate to speak to the team if there is ever anything we can help with.

Kind regards,

Kas

My Dad is in the Royal Manor, he has Dementia.
He is safe and well looked after, it's cosey and spotlessly clean. They really made an effort at Christmas and everywhere was decorated and Santa made a visit. My dad is still settling in but all the staff are lovely, and nothing is too much trouble for
them. hes only been there a few weeks but already his skin is looking much better and he's always clean and tidy. It's a smaller nursing home than some of the others we looked at with a lovely homely feel. I'm so pleased we chose this one and we would definitely recommend it.

My husband's grandmother spent her last couple of years at Burton Oaks and it was the best decision we could have made for her. Moving to Burton Oaks alleviated her loneliness and improved her quality of life due to the excellent care and atmosphere; she was always able to participate in activities,
days out and events whilst receiving the right care. Staff at Burton Oaks always went the extra mile to ensure her safety and both her emotional and physical needs were always met with dignity.
As a family, it was always lovely to join in with events such as the summer fayre and bingo nights so we could enjoy those events with her whilst she was still able to be in familiar surroundings and with the right care. The home itself is meticulously clean, bright and welcoming, staff are always present and even in residents' rooms will check in regularly to ensure everyone has everything they need. Children are always welcomed and included in activities where possible.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum moved into Rosslyn Residential Care at the end of March 2025 at quite short notice and was a little concerned that I had had to make the decision in a hurry. However I do not regret making the choice at all. I am so relieved to know that Mum is in an environment where I know she is warm, fed
very well and is above all, safe in a way I could not guarantee previously.
Her Alzheimer's and probable vascular dementia (which affects her walking significantly)is worsening and she has strong views ( not all of them based in fact) so I am sure this means she isn't the easiest person all the time. But the staff are so kind and attentive, something Mums comments on regularly. The staff are always very welcoming when I visit and keep me informed when the Doctor has called and if any treatment has been recommended. They also phoned very promptly when she had an unobserved fall ( no damage done)
Being able to meet in the family room is a godsend as we can talk in comfort and uninterrupted
Reply from Bhavna Jagwani, Registered Manager at Rosslyn Residential CareThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We are very glad to know that your mum feels safe, well cared for and supported here. My mum had come to the home a few years ago and was very happy from day one. The staff and other residents were very welcoming. During visits my mum would say, and I quote "what a laugh we had today".
The staff were always welcoming me when I visited and making me a coffee and sometimes a sandwich.
As my mums dementia progressed the staff remained very attentive and provided me with up dates via email or when I visited.
It was hard as I work a long way from home, in my mums final months she became bed bound and there was little communication but the staff remained permanently positive.

I can openly say my mums final years were made the best they could possibly be and me and my family are so happy that Carol spent her last years at Meadow House.
Thank you to Alina and all the staff at the home. Xx

We have been so lucky to have found such a lovely home for mum. It is very hard as family members to decide that their loved ones need to move out of their home & need twenty four hour care. Luckily, this choice has been very easy for us as mum settled in very quickly & is very happy and content.

The

care their is amazing, the carers are very kind & always interact with the residents & families. It always seems like a big happy family when you visit with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Mum is registered blind and also has a wheat intolerance. This has not been a problem with the home as they have dealt with this brilliantly & effectively with mums dietary needs.

Menelyn is a great manager and her care and passion has been instilled in all her team.

A big thank you to you all.

Dad moved to Burton Oaks at the beginning of January 2025. From the very start, he was treated as a member of an extended family. He was blind, hard of hearing and his mobility was poor - the care he received was exemplary. I would visit him at different times during the day & he was always clean,
comfortable & well looked after. His only complaint was that he was eating so much good food that he would put on weight!
The home always looked & smelled clean. The staff were kind to all the residents and so patient too. There were lots of activities provided on a daily basis, even if Dad chose not to join in! Weekly visits by the GP or practice nurse were very re-assuring - anything medical was quickly dealt with.
When Dad needed end of life care, he was able to stay at the home & died in his own bed, pain-free, loved & comfortable . I was able to be with him. We were all shown great compassion & care too. I can not speak highly enough of Burton Oaks, Menelyn and all the staff

I am very happy with the care my cousin Michael is getting at Rosslyn Court .
The atmosphere is good and he seems very happy, although dementia is taking is toll.
The staff are very kind to him, and seem to like him very much. I cannot visit as much as I would like to, reason being I don't drive and
rely on my son driving me to Watford every few weeks.
But I feel good that he is getting the right care with the right people

Our mum has been living in the care home for 2 years and the quality of care that she is receiving is excellent. The staff are remarkable and so caring. Mum has advanced dementia and the staff do everything to help her remain upbeat and safe from harm. I feel assured that the care mum receives is not
only meeting her needs but excels expectations. Thank you for everything that you do for our mum . The managers communication with myself and my sister is spot on and any changes in mums care needs are addressed straight away and we are consulted about anything relating to mums needs and her care plan. Nothing seems to be too much for the staff and they are kind and friendly to everyone.

Nancy was welcomed and well cared for, from the beginning - not easy as she is at least twenty years younger than other patients. The staff speak to her gently or with positive encouragement and share any concerns, including medical visits, dietary etc. Nancy enjoys colouring, singing and word searches,
but her type of dementia doesn't allow her to converse freely. The care home is small and feels like a 'home' and is very safe. The staff are to be congratulated on their various events, and they make relatives feel welcome and at home.
