With over 20 years of experience in adult health and social care, I have built a strong and rewarding career dedicated to supporting others. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Adult Care and an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Adult Care, reflecting my commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality care.
During my career, I took time away from working in care homes to focus on raising my four children, while continuing to contribute to adult social care within a safeguarding team. This experience further strengthened my passion for protecting and enhancing the well-being of vulnerable individuals.
I am delighted to be part of the St Vincent family, where I am committed to supporting people in their daily lives through person-centred care and meaningful, enriching activities. I feel incredibly privileged to do the work I love and to make a positive difference every day.
At St Vincent House, I pride myself on being approachable—my door is always open for a coffee and a chat. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and support residents, their families, and the dedicated staff team. It’s an exciting time to be part of such a supportive and caring environment, and I am eager to contribute to the next chapter of this wonderful home.

Neil has worked at St Vincent House for 16 years and looks forward to many more.
Neil is 61 years old and uses his life experiences to reminisce with people and be an excellent companion for those who live at St Vincent House, often supporting people to maintain contact with overseas and long-distance family members and friends and going out for walks and for coffee's on a 1:1 basis to ensure people feel valued.
He is Portsmouth Football Club Fanatic and always happy to chat football with those who will listen.
Neil's main responsibilities are admin based but he always states that the most rewarding part of his job is interacting with the residents and trying to make their days better in whatever way he can.
Neil has what has often been termed a Dad sense of humour and he doesn't mind that sometimes (more often than not) he is the only one laughing at his own jokes.
The three things Neil would like people to associate him with are kindness, happiness and sarcasm - the sarcasm just comes naturally and most people especially enjoy this part of his personality.
I have worked in the care sector for 30 years, 22 of these years at St Vincent House Southsea.
I joined as part of the care team, going on to complete NVQ level 2 and 3.
This enabled me to become a more senior member of staff and support the Deputy and the Manger in the day to day running of the home, a job I very much enjoyed.
I had always shown a keen interest and taken part in the activities in the home and loved how it made a difference to the resident’s day.
When the position for activities coordinator became available some 14 years ago, I knew this was for me, I was supported by the company to make this transaction and have never looked back.
I can honestly say I love my job.
Making a difference to my resident’s day, booking, planning activities and events that will make them happy, getting to know them and having time to listen and chat with them is what it’s all about.
When I am not working, I enjoy time with my husband, we have travelled a lot and enjoy our holidays.
We spend a lot of time with our daughter, granddaughter and our family dog, we all love going for long walks in the countryside together.
