Anne-Mare joined the St Vincent's family in February 2023 and sees herself leading the St Vincent House team in Southsea for years to come.
She has a real interest in dementia and has a BSc (HONS) in Dementia. Her passion is individualised care, positive risk and promoting autonomy and independence.
Anne-Marie is focused on the continual development of the St Vincent House team to provide outstanding care and build on everyone's skills, knowledge and communication skills for both the resident's benefit as well as their own progression.
In her home life, she spends time with her family and 2 dogs and enjoys venturing to different parts of the world.
John started working as a senior carer in St Vincent, Southsea before his promotion to head of care and then Deputy Manager. John acts as interim manager when needed in the home. He has an excellent eye for detail and sets the highest expectations for the care delivered in the home.
John is often the first point of contact for people new to the home.
Neil has worked at St Vincent House for 16 years and looks forward to many more.
Neil is 61 years old and uses his life experiences to reminisce with people and be an excellent companion for those who live at St Vincent House, often supporting people to maintain contact with overseas and long-distance family members and friends and going out for walks and for coffee's on a 1:1 basis to ensure people feel valued.
He is Portsmouth Football Club Fanatic and always happy to chat football with those who will listen.
Neil's main responsibilities are admin based but he always states that the most rewarding part of his job is interacting with the residents and trying to make their days better in whatever way he can.
Neil has what has often been termed a Dad sense of humour and he doesn't mind that sometimes (more often than not) he is the only one laughing at his own jokes.
The three things Neil would like people to associate him with are kindness, happiness and sarcasm - the sarcasm just comes naturally and most people especially enjoy this part of his personality.
I have worked in the care sector for 30 years, 22 of these years at St Vincent House Southsea.
I joined as part of the care team, going on to complete NVQ level 2 and 3.
This enabled me to become a more senior member of staff and support the Deputy and the Manger in the day to day running of the home, a job I very much enjoyed.
I had always shown a keen interest and taken part in the activities in the home and loved how it made a difference to the resident’s day.
When the position for activities coordinator became available some 14 years ago, I knew this was for me, I was supported by the company to make this transaction and have never looked back.
I can honestly say I love my job.
Making a difference to my resident’s day, booking, planning activities and events that will make them happy, getting to know them and having time to listen and chat with them is what it’s all about.
When I am not working, I enjoy time with my husband, we have travelled a lot and enjoy our holidays.
We spend a lot of time with our daughter, granddaughter and our family dog, we all love going for long walks in the countryside together.
