St Katherine's has the most remarkable staff! The Manager is so kind and caring whilst remaining extremely professional. Likewise, all the staff display the same attributes! My sister has been made so welcome, as have we her family, and despite the many changes she has undergone in the last couple of months is happy and settled. The care home is immaculately clean and always smells so fresh. The meals served are appetising and of a good size. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff who always greet you with welcoming smiles! Although my sister has not joined in yet, I believe there are a variety of activities she could do if she wished and she knows she is always welcome. We cannot recommend highly enough!

When selecting a Residential Care Home most people including myself, look for somewhere where it is clean warm and safe. What is not really considered is what happens when the end approaches. As a family we now have personal experience of this and witnessed firsthand the exceptional handling of end of life care. Mum became bed bound. Being 97 nearing 98, she was privileged to receive all round care from wonderful staff, day and night. As time drew nearer the Doctor issued a prescription for the provision of end of life medicine, but mum went quietly on her own terms. Knowing the medication was at hand to assist in pain relief was a comfort to family but also the fact that it would only be used if distress was shown and then outside nurses from local hospice would be called to administer. We were lucky to have a compassionate Care home manager who was trained in end of life care and witnessed first hand the dedication of the whole team.

Mum has received excellent care from Sini and her team of carers. The home is always very clean, welcoming and all of the residents seem well cared for and the staff are very attentive. We are always offered drinks when we visit and mum is always dressed in clean clothes and is well presented.

I can't recommend St Katherine enough. The manager and staff are of a very high standard. St Katherine has a very high standard of cleanliness and all the staff have a great knowledge of exeprience in all aspects of their job. St Katherine, in my opinion, is a wonderful care home.

I was so unsure of how mum (who has dementia) might transition to a home but St Katherine Care Home couldn't have been more welcoming and caring. The rooms are lovely and the home as a whole is spotless. The food is good and they accommodate mum as a vegetarian very well. Most importantly, the staff are wonderful. Most have been there years and it shows. They have a genuine connection to the residents and I feel safe in the knowledge that they look after her with compassion and skill. I'm able to visit a lot and they make any visitors feel very welcome.

My mum's life has been transformed since she moved to St Katherine's. The staff are delightful, caring, compassionate and sensitive. Nothing is too much trouble. There are activities organised by the staff to involve everyone if they wish to participate. Mum is now socialising and no longer by herself. It is a pleasure to visit and see the difference the home has made to Mum's life. We are so happy and relieved she is now receiving excellent care.

Review from Jan V (Cousin of Resident) published on 21 December 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My cousin could no longer live independently at home and moved to St Katherine's in May 2023. She took a while to settle in as she really didn't want to go into care... We were concerned that she would be very unhappy and would decline.
She has complex medical needs (including dementia) and can be a little 'challenging' at times.
St Katherine's has proved to be the best care home we could ever have selected! My cousin now says she loves living there. The home is clean and welcoming, and the staff have the patience of Saints and attend to her many needs in a competent, caring manner.
My cousin is a very fussy eater and enjoys all the food provided. She needed to gain weight and certainly has.
She enjoys the activities and is really looking forward to an outing tomorrow to a Christmas lunch in a local pub.

St Katherine's is a well-run, gem of a place, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

This care home is so friendly. I love coming to visit my Mum, it goes over and beyond the call of duty. The staff really look after my mum. The food is excellent and they also have fantastic activities going on. My mum has never been happier. It's just so comforting there, so clean and all the staff have a smile on their faces, just excellent.

I am happy that my mother is well looked after. She seems happy to be there. Healthcare and appointments are arranged and carried out, which helps take a great deal of pressure off me as I live on my own and work. The staff are approachable and helpful if I have any questions or a problem. My mother is happy, and that makes me happy.

My mother, who is 96 and has dementia, has been at St Katherine’s since March 2023, so eight months now. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the level of care they provide to my mum. This care home is bright, airy, very clean and superbly friendly whilst maintaining professionalism. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff regarding care for the residents, and they always make me feel welcome at my regular, frequent visits.

My mother has resided at St Katherine's since May 2023, and I cannot thank the manager and her staff for the care and attention that they have given her. Due to her Alzheimer's, she can be very challenging at times, but staff have the patience to deal with her in a professional and considerate manner. I can rest in the knowledge that my mother is being cared for in a safe, secure and friendly environment.
